Your Personal Game of the Year

Forgot Captain Toad comes out soon, too.

I would think Pokemon would net a spot, but meh, not into Pokemon right now.

Played lots of back catalog games but barely anything new this year, so in order of the ones I have played

Wolfenstien
Infamous Second Son

Only scratched the surface on Sunset Overdrive and Last of us Remastered so no placement on those yet.

I don't think re-releases should count, otherwise I'd say MCC despite its online woes. (So much halo wrgalhblahlabgralbhagbhl)

I've played about 2 hours of dragon age, and I agree with everyone saying it's game of the year.

Man, I am considering changing my vote. I really, really loved Alien Isolation, but Far Cry 4 is just so freaking fantastic. Flawless gameplay combined with a beautiful and alive open world and an absolute ton of gameplay for the money.

Was Diablo, now GTA5.

Can't see that changing between now and the end of the year.

Wait till you pump some more hours in such an amazing game and the story is awesome.

No you're not. You are a staff writer. I didn't realize.
Haha, no way, man. You're right. They're should have been a poll. I just was initiating a discussion. A poll would be much more efficient.

man I really wanted to get into far cry 4, but it just felt exactly like the last game with different animals and setting

I'm really looking forward to Christmas as I'm about 98% sure I'm getting Far Cry 4. Looking forward to some fun co-op.

Changing my game to South Park: Stick of Truth. After skimming the awards, I remembered this game.

Alien Isolation is still great. It's my #1 for new consoles.

Still need to play Wasteland 2.

Right now a toss up between FC4 and DA:I, with strong honorable mentions for Infamous:SS, PvZ: Garden Warfare, and Divinity: Original Sin.

I can't deny this, it really is essentially Far Cry 3.5. I was a little disappointed at first as well, but I now think that this is one of those rare times where that is actually a good thing. Far Cry 3 was so good, and it has no competition when it comes to open world shooters. There's not even a close second IMO. So when they start changing stuff for the next game (and they had better start changing stuff!), there's no guarantee it will all be for the better, so I'm pretty happy we got our next gen version of the game.

Plus, the more I play, the more I appreciate the new map. I wasn't sold at first, but it really is a fantastic setting. The gameplay is also as addicting as ever, and it's just as easy as ever to get distracted. Emergent gameplay is everywhere, which is why even with the same mechanics in place, nothing feels stale.

DAI.

I didn't care for DAO and heard nothing but bad things about DA2 but this game...

It's perfect for me. All of the rewards of playing an MMO without being forced to group up with idiots to further your character.

I haven't had the chance to play a lot of the games but:

1) Killer Instinct
2) Destiny
3) Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition
4) Gaucamelee
5) Child of Light

My personal game of the year would be Forza Horizon 2. Just an amazing game. No other racing game looks as good, is as in depth, so finely tuned, so buttery smooth, with an insane amount of gameplay that is all around fun as hell. I am glad the game is doing so well, I suspect that Forza Horizon 3 will continue that tradition.

Driveclub with the latest weather update is the best looking console racing game. Your post reads like a PR sheet. And falling off the sales charts after a not great debut is "doing so well"? Okay.

This thread is to give your PERSONAL (ie opinion) game of the the year. How bout you just give yours and not make this thread a fight to tell someone their opinion is wrong ffs. :(

I so can't wait to play it. I think I may have to hold off for a day extra just so other games can have 10 minutes of usage

A good game to play is Max Curse of Brotherhood. It was a free GWG game way back. But make note it drags on. Awesome styling and easier to play than some reviews say, but despite the new pencil techniques every level, it gets tedious.

So if you have this game, play it in spurts or you'll get burned out. There's lots of repetition and trial and error gameplay.

Forza Horizon would have to be mine, just insanely fun with a mountain of content and great locations.

Man it's a tough one for me this year, seems like I played a ton of "Game of the Year" games. A few of my favs':

Wolfenstein: TNO
Guacamelee
Titanfall
FC:4
