Analyst predicts PS5 in 2018

But apparently, resolution boost and slight fps boost are now a near generation better. I'll remember that when Scorpio comes out.
Almost means? 900p vs 1400p(that scales above 1400p) is significant and this without counting added/improved special effects and performance.
Scorpio will never exhibit a 900p vs 1400+ resolution difference vs the Pro.
You remember what I been saying.

We have no data of the timeframe spent on ps4 or xb1 to really make a real comparison. One of them could have been the baseline, then ported up to ps4 for example with less time spent on its hardware advantages, then pro. No way to say, seems to me by using the 16bit it got some love.
Pro support was tacked on to BF1 and it resulted in great improvements.
Horizon ZD is the best looking 2017 game and doesn't come close to what the Pro can do.
Wait till quality Devs have more time with the Pro.

Never and yet BF games are still always one of the best looking games on console when they are released, DICE is a great studio. That being said the Pro version of BF1 looks quite a bit better than the standard consoles and if they were to really put a lot more time and effort into it they'd have gotten even more out of it. Remember this came out before the console even launched, they had it patched quickly which means they likely did the easiest and fastest stuff to get it out the door. That being said they still did more than a lot of other devs did.

When I say it wasn't built from the ground up I mean that the Pro wasn't the minimum they were always working with so they'd push it as much as they could to get the most out of it. Word of the pro probably came up very late in the development cycle. Let's just say the Pro version would likely look quite a bit better had it always been the main PlayStation focus for DICE and not the standard PS4.
Significantly better than the PS4 version and a generation better than the terrible looking XBO 720p version.

Do you have a link about pro being tacked on?

Isn't Guerilla a quality dev?

Got it, so when Scorpio comes out and 900-1080p games run at 4k those will be generation leaps because of resolution. Show me in the DF video where the added/improved effects are in BF1. I watched the vid, its nothing worth mentioning.

You are saying those numbers are generational, so when Scorpio has a 300p advantage or more over pro, I'll say its half a generational leap over pro and you have to accept it.

720p XBO BF1 vs 1400p Pro is a generation apart. 4 times the resolution and better effects.
Scorpio will not have even a double the resolution difference with Pro.
The 1080p XBO quality games going to 4K likely won't be much different.
Scorpio has potential to show a generation jump over XBO games but not over PS4 or the Pro.

Don't need a link... it was.
Yes they are a amazing dev and Its new hardware for everybody.

It's difficult for me to just believe it was tacked on for no reason other than forum dudes. I even did a search and nothing came up.

Ryse/The Order were new games on Xb1/ps4 and they both rival every game since. We're using PC off the shelf parts, there won't be this huge spike in "understanding" like ps3 supposedly had, same reason The Order still rivals anything else.

I hope Scorpio won't double pro's resolution wtf, they're only a year apart. My point is you are saying the resolution is a generation leap. Why won't 4k Xb1 games be much different when BF1 ps4 pro is a generation leap over ps4? The difference is even more, especially when talking about 900p games(I like how NOW you list 1080p for xb1 to curb your point when you never refer to XB1 as a 1080p machine lol) Aren't ps4 games 1080p, rendering to 4k isn't enough for you with Scorpio when 900-1400p is with pro?

I said more than the resolution but going by a minimum 4+X resolution bumps are significant.
I didn't say PS4 vs Pro was a generation leap...I said XBO vs Pro BF1.
I listed 1080P XBO games cause 720p/900p to 4K likely isn't happening much if not at all as the horsepower just isn't there. 1080p XBO games usually don't look that good unless the FPS is 30.
Scorpio won't be running even half of its games at native 4K.

I'm was referring to DICE using a secret sauce in BF1 and to me it looks like a normal pro upgrade.

Above I mentioned that the BF1 pro version looks like a normal pro upgrade, why would I be referring to Xb1? They don't upgrade pro based on X1 architecture, they use ps4. Then you came back with that pro is a generational leap with no context about Xb1 or ps4. Later you said xb1, but that was after the fact.

I didn't say PS4 vs Pro was a generation leap...I said XBO vs Pro BF1.

I'm still confused how 900p/1080p Xb1 games being 4k on Scorpio aren't a generational leap if we are using your resolution method here. All these games are using the same settings Xb1/ps4, just resolution/fps differences, but somehow when you bump up a xbox game it isn't the same leap.

Its that time again...Re-read what I said. I touched on most of what you are saying.
Not sure about the 1st part.
But I will add...I never said PS4 vs Pro showed generational differences.

It's logic, the game was already long in development for the X1/PS4 before the Pro dev kits were ever sent out, also if I remember correctly the Pro enhancements were already on the disc they weren't patched in by a download so they didn't even use all the time they had. Either way I don't think anyone is knocking the work they did, they made it the best looking/playing console version of the game even with a limited amount of time spent on it.

They also only targeted one platform and were made by studios that created the tech they used.

I just bought The Order based on this post. If it's not everything you've sold it as graphically, you owe me $4.

Cerny said development for pro was only 2% of the regular ps4 game. I don't buy you need all this time with off the shelf parts. And patches, suddenly the pro can't get patches, DICE loves those but we see no crazy "omg the real power of pro!" results.

XBO was lead/parity as well plus the game released before Pro launched.

See above post. The ps4 pro isn't a ps3, you don't need years of development, not only that DICE loves improving games through patches, where the 8.4TF at?

Oh ok, so we'll just never see the true potential of the pro/Scorpio then so it doesn't even matter.

TEH MOST POWERFUL CONSOLE EVaR MADE!!!1!!1!1!!111

Seriously though, that has to be the lamest bit of of marketing / buzz phrase I can remember in recent history. I'm sure it's probably been used for past consoles, but it's hard to not find completely ridiculous.
True, lol. The PS4 had that title, then the Pro Had it. Basically, if it's not Nintendo Hardware that particular title goes to whoever comes out the most recently...

Yeah, having the most powerful hardware should go hand in hand with being the newest piece of hardware, well unless you are Nintendo.
Dang it! I just wrote that!... Perhaps I should catch up on what I missed before commenting ;)
