Destiny 1 also had to run on the 360 and PS3, the game was never designed fully to only run on this gen of consoles, if you watch the story trailers you can see a pretty significant jump in the graphics in Destiny 2 and I'm sure they are just using a version of the same engine with some enhancements.
I don't blame Sony
They are, and while there is a visual bump it isn't really a big one.
Ilove how one console is being blamed for it being 30FPS when in reality you could make it 60FPS if they wanted and the visual differences would be negligable.
I would point at the game engine if I was to blame anything.
well Destiny only allows around 15 users in a world at any given time. Which means that games like BF1 are far larger in player numbers at any given time. Battlefield also does a tonne lf stat tracking and prooggression tracking via servers.Oh I don't doubt for a second it's the engine they are using, I don't know all of the ins and outs as far as what's required for all of the online components they are running vs what other straight up online MP games do but when you look at other games that are on Frostbite that not only look much better but run at higher framerates it's hard to understand.
I do think the visual upgrades are pretty big in some areas though, the rain looks much better than those crappy long white toothpicks that were falling sparsely in slow motion in the original game.

I couldn't say with any certainty but I am not sure it would be vastly more complex.
Actually the areas are not all that big and isn't all that much A.I at any given time. One lf the bigger areas in the game has about 30-40 A.I.Destiny does have much bigger areas to play in though and there is different AI running all over the place which is CPU bound from what the dev says. BF for all it's greatness doesn't really run AI during MP it's all player controlled stuff, they do have destruction though, clearly it's an issue with the different things the games are doing, the tech involved and also the consoles having lower end CPU's. People need to remember just because the PC version can be 60 fps doesn't mean all PC's will, they'll likely need a CPU that's quite a bit better than what's in these consoles to achieve that.
MS didn't get chit for it and Sony shouldn't either.Yes, we're all aware of your official position re: everything.
Not thinking that's the reason... Sony had no reason to show much at all and this is why they cut the show short. Was listening to a podcast with someone on there who knows Shinobi very well and he said that he had told Sucker Punch were meant to be at E3 but pulled out due to technical problems on the game. I would expect we will see their new game at PSX.

I don't know much about shooters and whatnot, but isn't the AI normally handled server side?Destiny does have much bigger areas to play in though and there is different AI running all over the place which is CPU bound from what the dev says. Destiny don't use dedicated servers, its probably based off the aging Halo engine. Not being able to support 60fps is probably an engine limitation.I don't know much about shooters and whatnot, but isn't the AI normally handled server side?
I'm more of an MMO bloke, and I know that Destiny typically shies away from that label, but I just assumed it would be handled by a the server too. Is there still a host console for the AI and physics?
He never said WHICH CPU it was bound to.Destiny uses the cloud for its AI and won't work without being connected to the net...so that's another hole in the BS story they are giving.

No new footage of the games but I enjoyed the conversation.
My TV but smaller in the background
I have 3 LED strips behind it and with the brightness at 20 out of 50...when watching in the dark the TV gets super dark and super bright.Lucky so how are you liking it for gaming now that you've had it for a little while?
Was there any decent gameplay videos (no commentary) for Uncharted at the show? All I've seen was the one where the people kept talking and they were showing about a minute of video over and over.

I haven't seen a full gameplay session with no commentary yet, the trailer shown at the conference was the closest thing as far as I know.
I just re-watch the SOTC trailer like the 10th time and reactions of youtubers of the game. Crazy lol. I'm actually hyped and excited for the SOTC remake but oh man I was hoping a remake of "The Legend of Dragoon" or a sequel to it. Oh well. One of the best PSone RPGs.
