Horizon: Zero Dawn

What do you mean? What happened?

Eh, I was gonna make a thread about it, but I haven't felt like sitting at my PC to make a thorough post with possible images.

Short version: 3' x 2' x 8" 125lb+ rock fell out of one of my hands (attached to a wrist that was previously broken) at the worst possible angle across my foot resulting in a very bad situation.

Ow. :really: Damn, man, sorry to hear that.

Just come and push me around on the weekends when you're able...

That's if it's actually included on the disk. It may be one where it's just enabled through the disk, but you'll have to DL it.

Yeah, it's ridiculous to have to wonder about such things. At least the Witcher 3 did things the right way and included everything on the disk. Several other games like Dragon Age Inquisition and Project Cars just included stupid codes in their goty versions.

We'll get you a nurse to push you around.

I dropped an old 140lb CRT tv on my left big toe two and a half weeks ago, luckily the toe was only fractured but it cut a gash through the nail so they had to remove the nail completely and put a few sutures in. Oddly enough the worst pain from the whole thing was when they gave me the shots to numb my toe, a needle going into a tender big toe that likely had an ingrown nail before a 140lb tv fell on it that pushed the nail into the flesh even deeper doesn't feel very good lol. I was really worried about it hurting without the nail but thankfully it hasn't been too bad at all, the only time it really hurts is when my playful 40lb puppy steps on it lol but even then it's not that bad.

I hope whatever you are going through is only temporary and not too painful.

I doubt I could lift 125lb let alone in one hand. We get ourselves a bodybuilder over here.

Nice. We've seen snowy terrain already, but it looks cool anyhow. I'll probably miss the foliage (foliage of the year), but oh well.

Guerrilla seems to be good at keeping story elements under wraps. I don't have any idea what this expansion is about. I'm glad. I'd rather be surprised.

I'll get it eventually but not right away. Sounds like this will be the only DLC for the game so no rush worrying about getting behind. Actually depending on what we all get with this, it makes me feel like it's more of a throwback to OG expansions we used to get with games. Main game comes out and if it sells/reviews well then maybe a year later we get a decent sized expansion and then they move on.

The Banuk.

"Although the Banuk didn’t feature prominently in the base game, the tribe’s rugged individuality, nomadic existence and harmonious relationship with natural and machine life set it apart them from all of the other tribes."

At 15 hours, they could've put this out as a separate game, ala Lost Legacy, and priced it twice as high. $15 is a deal.

I won't watch, because I don't want it spoiled, but for those interested:

Now with improved mo-cap and facial animation. And cool-looking snow (or so I hear).

I’ve got to tread lightly in this thread but I started playing this game 2 months ago and stopped. I don’t know why because it is such a good game!

I’m going to start over soon and play it until completion. I saw that an expansion is coming and I’m going to buy it say one just to support the developer. So worth it.

I’ve got so many games to play but in my mind I keep coming back to it. I stopped playing in the early game where I rescued a girl up a tree surrounded by the two legged walkers. (Forgot the name)

Looking forward to jumping back in.

Yeah, that's pretty early on. I've heard from other people who for some reason didn't really get hooked by the early game, but they pressed on, and once they started unlocking powers and getting a feel for combat, things shifted for them.

It's getting harder for me to sign on to big open-world RPGs lately -- and everything seems like it's a big open-world RPG these days. It feels like too much of a time commitment, I guess. Maybe that's part of why you put it down, I don't know.

That’s good to know. Your statement above is exactly my thoughts as well. Too much of a time commitment but some games I will play anyway. At this point in my life I prefer short campaigns (6-8 hours) and I don’t play multiplayer.

Open world games are fun and I do enjoy them I just have to have the mindset I want to play one at the time. In the mood I guess. Horizon Zero Dawn will be one of those games for sure.

Guerrilla have improved their mo-cap so the faces and animations should look even better. I feel like this is going to be a testing ground for a few things they will have played for Horizon Zero Dawn 2.

As impressive a technical marvel this game may be, those head movements are hella scary. Muppets, Arlo, *cough*mynieceshandpuppets*coughs* and Hella from Thor Ragnarok head piece have more convincing and life like subtle gestures.

lol, yeah, I heard criticism of the head movements. too much, apparently.

I'm mad this new DLC is coming the same day as the X launch. I want to play both, but I'm sure I'll be spending all the time on the new system. Preordering the DLC the second it was announced didn't really serve much purpose now.... I'll get to it soon enough.

I hope this isn't the only expansion, they've created such a beautiful world I'd love to see more stories told there. I'm still hoping we get an expansion with Rost as the playable character telling some of his story.

I kind of doubt we'll get another expansion. This one is pretty big, and it took a long time for them to create. I'm pretty sure they will want to shift everyone to the sequel.

True although this expansion seems beefier and came quicker than UC4's did, well beefier in length but I'm sure TLL had a lot more story telling elements etc.

Nice, the facial animations defintitely look better. More natural and less dead! Makes a big difference to me :D
