Sure, everyone knows that. Good new games take 3 to 5 years to develop, give or take.
The problem is, they've been talking about the problem for 3 to 5 years. There ought to be something coming out of the oven by now.
It sounds like you guys are saying, "Ok, the clock starts now! Phil Unleashed! 3 to 5 years from now, we'll see something good, we promise. Just be patient."
The trouble is, the clock does not start now. The clock started in 2015. The clock has been running for 3 years.
If MS had any foresight at all, they would have started projects years ago that would now be ready to at least unveil (not release, just unveil). If they lacked even that minimal degree of foresight, then I don't know what to say. I could not have retained faith in a company whose management was so clueless.
But that doesn't make sense, because they've been making all the right moves in other departments Hardware, BC, etc -- it all shows a focus on what core gamers want. That's why I can't believe they'd be so inept and flatout stupid in this one area (to have no new games ready to unveil after this long).
Look, I’d love for them to have better/new exclusives right now, but they don’t. They don’t need to have that right now though. They are ‘losing’ to Sony, but the Xbox division continues to grow, even without exciting new exclusives.
Yeah, that's not real inspiring. I'm glad they're profitable, but that doesn't do much for me.
I think they have every other base covered, and are set up very well for the future with their great BC program. Add their deep pockets giving heavy investment to future titles, and it’s just a matter of time.
It’s a marathon, not a sprint.
I just hope they show enough of their future vision at E3 to get people excited.
Well, your post gave me no reason to get excited.
