Bi la kaifa! The XB1 is vastly better than any other gaming console, ever. Its awesomeness is infinite. It is godlike, and better than any console before and after it.

The Xbox One is and will be the pinnacle of all consoles.
My favorite console up until now was the SNES. The jury is out and when the minor bugs are worked out the X1 will probably take over.
Greatest console of all time is the SNES. As much as I have loved more modern consoles like the PS2 & 360 none of them manage to capture that greatness and joy that the SNES bought. Next-gen( this gen) looks like it will be the same. It isn;t all down to hardware either but the mind set and goals of Developers. Back in the SNES days it seems making games was all about making really good, fun, innovative experiences that separate themselves from anything else. Not the case today.

You also have to realize that just about every innovative idea that works has been used up. Also, when you're young and you experience something for the first time it sticks in your head forever. Young gamers of today will grow up saying SNES what? 20 years from now they'll say it was all about that Xbox One.
I can't even imagine being born into the greatness of this generation. Just because we were there before them doesn't really make gaming any less exciting today. At least not for me. I don't let nostalgia decide what i enjoy today. If a game is good it's good. There's still plenty of developers putting out games that are just fun that remind me of the old days.
Well I'm not sure if it will go down as the greatest of all time, but so far it is the greatest console of this early generation. I owned a Wii U and PS4 before my XBOX ONE. The Wii U barely got used its first year (might have turn it on once a quarter, if that). The PS4 was used a lot when I first got it, but looking at it now, I wonder why in the world I even bought the thing (exclusive content for the PS4 at launch is complete and utter garbage, maybe the worst I have ever seen for a big system launch). Every game I like on the PS4, aside from Resogun, is a multiplat game I could have got on my XBOX ONE. Now it is just collecting dust next to my XBOX ONE, which is on every day, nearly all day. I own mostly exclusives on the XBOX ONE too, aside from Madden 25 and NFS Rivals. They are all pretty good and fun games. We shall see how this generation ends up, but so far MS is at least attempting to bring a great exclusive lineup to the XBOX ONE. Hope they keep it up.
The features are another reason the XBOX ONE to me is winning my time. Just a cool system all the way around. MS promised an all in one system and that is what they delivered. I can only imagine it will get better and better as this generation goes on.

To be fair gaming was a lot more fresh and cheaper for everyone including devs.. Now it's a very expensive hobby that require thousands of dollars for us the consumer and a huge dev team for every game. We are in 8th gen and it's hard to create fun and new experiences after decades and decades of gaming. People had an open mind back in the day because gaming was cheaper. Now one mistake your company is at risk.
I also blame devs becuause they don't listen to their audience. Here it is 2013 and and we haven't got a proper sequel to any Resident Evil or Devil May game. If devs listened to their audience less company would go bankrupt. Take Mighty Number 9 for an example it's heavily supported by the community and it has eveyrhting you would want in a Mega Man game. It actually surpassed expetaions and people are excited for it. I think more devs should go that route because it would be healthy for the gaming industry.
Within being said I think most genres are better now than they were back in the 1990's. True devs are playing it safe but it's in fear of losing their company. I think we did a good job all things considering. We had games like Remember Me, Battlefield 3, Metal Gear Solid Rising, Journey, Rayman Legends, Bioshock, Test Drive Unlimited, Pure, Split Second, Mario Galaxy 2, The Walking Dead, No More Heroes, Trauma Center, Mirrors Edge, Gone Home, Lost Odysee, Dirt 3, Motorstorm, etc. that are very fun games IMO. s***, we even got a new NBA Jam and NFL Blitz
The SNES was a simpler time for gaming and it shouldn't be compared to now. I think we did good all things considering.
Really ? Cause your list of games is mediocre at best. I mean BF3 is one of the worst BF games. Dirst 3 isn't close to the greatness of the old Colin Mcrae games. Remember me is terrible. I could go on
LOL. No.....Young gamers of today will grow up and say Xbox or PS4 was best cause it sold more. If "Just about every innovative idea that works" is used up( lol) then it just re-enforces my point.
I doubt it. Only people who post on forums care about sales and even then most of us don't care what console sells more. We are a very small percentage of gamers. The reason why you don't see as many people praising games like Call of Duty and you see people on forums hating on it? Cause the people who just have fun playing games are actually playing them. Forums are a beehive of negativity and nothing more at the end of the day.
As far as innovation goes, yup just about every idea that works has been used. Toss some ideas out there that we haven't seen if you think otherwise. All this complaining about games being repetitive and we've seen it all before and people wanting something new. Yet, you don't see those people coming up with ideas either. People just love to whine. I don't remember anyone complaining about Pong being repetitive.
I've not had a game to challenge me as much as Super Ghouls n' Ghosts on the SNES. And when you get to the 20 screen-high last boss *SPLOILER ALERT* (lol for those that are still planning on playing it for the first time) - and he says you have to return with a certain weapon and it starts you all the way over... WELL F ME!
I don't remember anyone complaining about Pong being repetitive.
the replay value is off the charts
