Call of Duty: Black Ops 4

Are we all playing the same game? Other than some connection issues in regular MP that makes it frustrating sometimes, the Blackout mode the best BR game on the market. Still a bunch of friends playing so grouping up in MP and BR is still a lot of fun.

Lol

Blackout isn't enough to keep me interested in a COD game. Have to have a competent MP with proper team balancing.

This only had half of that equation.

I'm having a ton of fun with it. Blackout is amazing when it's running well.

People seem to forget issues they have with COD and keep buying it for some reason. The thread is hilarious because its people complaining about problems that are in every single COD.

Not Sunset of course. He is just doing his usual s***posting.

Are you playing solo or with a group of friends? When I play solo I always get the worst teammates and I’m stuck getting good stats while we lose. When I group up with friends we hold our own and win most of the time.

I've gone back to WWII. So much better, and smoother. And there are still tons of people playing it!

As much as I loved WW2 most of this year that game was a dumpster fire at launch. It was the worst COD launch I had ever experienced. HQ was broken, preorder bonuses didn’t work for awhile, and connections and host advantage was the worst. It took months of updates to get that game to the great state it is in now. I’m sure give BO4 some time and updates will fix some of the issues. People jumping the gun on this one.

I play COD solo all the time. I rarely play with groups. And yet I still got wins easily in every COD until this one. Team balancing just sucks, in addition to the major focus on team play with specialists and all that.

So, this seems the general consensus among the internet;
Ordinary mp is meh.
Zombie is great, for those who like that type of horde game.
Blackout is the thing to play, seems that most,(except fan boys, insane people, employees of other companies, or in some cases personnel taste) consider this the best battle royal game atm.

No, just awesome bones. They've only improved it since.

Blackout won't hang with Fortnite for very long. Mark my words.
I actually agree on that. BR does really fit the COD gamer style. It'll have an audience, I'm sure, but I don't think Black Out will supplant other Bzr games. Certainly not Fortnite, which separates itself in visual stlye, pacing, and gameplay hook.

COD has never been about patience and suspense, which aren't exactly hallmarks of what the standard COD gamer is looking for, imo.

I won't hold it against you as I don't think you know much about modern BR's. I'd you're having fun with it more power to ya.

I’ve played all 3. You triggered much?

I think it’s funny anytime someone has a different opinion than you and doesn’t praise Fortnite to the heavens, you think something is wrong with them or they don’t know what they’re talking about. Go back to your hole (Fortnite thread) leave the grown ups to talk.

Just trust me on this one. I'm usually right.

Blackout got all it's inspiration from PUBG, a game that we witnessed get murdered by Fortnite this year.

It simply doesn't do anything interesting in the genre other than "be competent".

Fortnite will be dethroned eventually, but it's going to be by a game/company that innovates and pushes the genre forward (like Fortnite did). Blackout just feels like old design. I'm eager to see what Blizzard does with their BR game.

We heard all this already

Nobody cares

Just face the fact no one here at union gives two s***s what you think about Fortnite. Crawl back into your hole (Fortnite thread) and continue to talk to yourself.

The thing is, all the criticisms I had of the game during the beta (namely Blackout doesn't have legs) is coming to fruition. I've been keeping track of interest on Twitch and for the past two days, Fortnite has consistently had higher numbers.

The skill gap in this game is too low to keep people hooked for very long. It's accessable, which is why Blackout reviews are so warm, but the majority of those reviews are by game critics who can only put a few hours into each game before they have to move on.

My assessment of this situation hasn't been popular, but it has been spot on.

You got to love people who create strawmen to make themselves feel smart. "See guys I told you Fortnite would be more popular than Blackout"

Even though nobody argued that, nobody cares, and everyone on the planet knew that would be the case.

Played again last night after most recent update (not sure what it did) and game is still the same. Hell even during the course of the match I can tell the connection difference. Starts out feeling amazing, then a round or two later I'm being shot coming around corners again. That's the biggest issue for me with this game. There's no competing with that sort of connection issue. If someone is camping or head glitching you have no chance when you're already half dead by the time you realize there is even someone there. It's bad enough when you put half a mag into someone's back only for them to turn around and down you in three shots, but there's nothing to do when they clearly see you before you see them.

I have no interest in Blackout. The one time I tried it while waiting for others to show up for regular MP, it ran like a god damn slideshow. Not sure if just more connection issues or jank ass OG Xbox not being able to run it right, but it was headache inducing. Zombies is alright but it's not going to keep me coming back week after week. I don't see me playing this much in the future, especially once online for RDR2 comes out. Only saving grace is with Gamer's Club I got a discount plus $10 pre-order gift card, so trading it in in a couple months I'll get enough money back to consider it a wash.

I'll try to simplify this for you as you're missing my point.

It's not about popularity. It's about longevity. Arguably the single most important characteristic of a BR game. If you're going to drop into the same map over and over, you're going to need to keep players engaged.

What I've said all along was that there are core design faults with Blackout that will prevent it from having any kind of legs in the long term.

Player interest was high during the beta, and the first 5 or 6 days after full release. Now we're already starting to see interest wane. Contrast that with Fortnites interest back during it's first week of release.

Does that make sense to you?

Enjoying the game the more i play it. "Carry potential" is definitely lower in this game.
