Capcom: SF V will never see a release on XBox

It's on PC though, and its probably not a graphically taxing game.

I know I was someone who expected it to. Surprised to see such a firm shutdown.

I get it on PC, if I still fancy playing fighting game.

I do have a PS4 but I am not & likely will not pay for the MP.

I may get the PC version at some point. Haven't spent much time with 4 anyways. I'd rather play Killer Instinct.

Correct. Along with cries of boycotts and trying to get people fired. It was imbecilic.

He's saying treats -- like trick or treats. Not threats. He's making a joke about your typo.

Sorry PV. I just wanted to see how far we could go. Lol

I had a thought about Sony fans pelting SE execs with cookies. But held it in until now.

Whatever. It is lost revenue for Capcom. I don't care what SONY paid them they probably would have made more if it was open to all platforms. One day I hope there is platform neutrality.

There were for Tomb Raider which is not 1/10 as popular, nor important, of a franchise as Street Fighter.
Are you sure about that? What were the sales numbers for the two most recent games? I really don't know.

Fighting games seem to have lost a lot of their popularity this past decade from what I've seen

Well it is CAPCOM... So just wait for SFV Ultra Mega Hd Remake Super Happy Ending Remix...

Oh, they said not for 5 though... I call bulls***. :p just like Resident Evil 0 was Nintendo exclusive! It may take a decade, but it will happen!

As a franchise, there's no comparison. TR pales.
What all do you entail in saying "franchise?" Like toys and merchandise? Because popularity of Tomb Raider has skyrocketed recently from the 2013 reboot.

How do you figure?

TR1: 7.5 Million copies
TR1 Anniv.: 2.3 Million copies
TR2: 8 Million copies
TR3: 6.5 Million copies
TRLR: 5 Million copies
TRC: 1.5 Million copies
TRAD: 3 Million copies
TRLeg: 4 million copies
TRU: 2.6 Million copies
TR2013: 8.5 million [BEST selling TR to date]

SF's only sold around 34 million TOTAL sales to date since 1992 on consoles. TR's sold through nearly a third of that with the latest reboot of the franchise, and total, TR has sold nearly 50 million units. While the Street Fighter IP is older, the TR IP (with the reboot) utterly destroys anything SF has done in over a decade.

The fighting genre has decline over the years, and the action/adventure genre has increased (and continues to increase).

Tomb Raider has had several movies, all of which were fairly successful, which Street Fighter's movie was a joke.

I'm pretty sure you've got it exactly backwards. TR utterly destroys Street Fighter on every metric I can find, other than most sales of a SINGLE release (which is SFII by far)... so yeah, pretty sure you're just wrong. TR is easily a more popular IP/Franchise. Easily.

Action games: 28.2% of the games sales for released titles in 2014 (Number one genre, ahead of Shooters, even)
Fighting games: 6% of the games sales for released titles in 2014 (6th most popular genre)

Tomb Raider is not only a clearly more popular franchise/IP, it's also a SIGNIFICANTLY more important title/IP, given that it's at the top range of Action games, and action games are the most popular genre today.

Importance to the video game world. Tomb Raider is nothing of importance other than pointy boobs. Street fighter is on another level. Given the choice of which franchise to have, Streey Fighter, easily.

One has tournaments centers around it for the past 20 years attended by hundreds of thousands of people.

Well, if there's a decent d-pad controller I'll be getting a ps4.

Based on what, though?

TR has sold more as a franchise than SF.
TR is an action game, and action games sold over 400% better than fighting games last year (and the gap has been getting wider, not smaller).
TR is a more familiar IP, with several successful movies compared to SF's really bad movie which was a box-office failure.
TR's latest release was the best selling in all the history of the franchise (showing a renewal of the franchise) compared with SF's which still hasn't gotten anywhere near the glory days of 1994 on the SNES/Genesis with 14 million units sold.

There's just no data to back up your position, Plainview. You're right, SF's on another level alright... a LOWER level. It's old news, in a less relevant genre.

Are you sure you're not just speaking about your own personal preferences/experiences here? I mean, I get it, I think Peggle 2 is a more relevant title for my own tastes than Bloodbourne and the Order combined... but that doesn't mean that the rest of the industry (or its fans) would even close to agree...

SF>>>>>>>>>>>>TR for importance to the video game world. It's not even close. Where Capcom went wrong is with multiple versions of the same game. Had the games been more of a revolution than small evolutions, it would have sold more.

I would think you would see Street Fighter enter the game hall of fame before Tomb Raider.
