Capcom: SF V will never see a release on XBox

As, it seems, with most Japanese game companies, Capcom only has their ignorance to blame. Instead of following and moving with the time, they stick to their old outdated business structure and practices. They kept heavily outsourcing work, and they didn't move with the digital uprising.

You know something is really wrong when your games sell well, yet, you keep losing money.

Funny thing is, this deal with Sony will ultimately not help them. Sony will be taking the vast majority of profits, and Capcom is most likely still going to post losses at the end of their next fiscal year--post SF5.

Please post details of SFV exclusivity.

lol at this thread.

Who cares which is more important to gaming. The sad thing here is that 2 big name multi-platorm games are now exclusive, in some capacity, to a specific console. That is sad, and to be honest, bad.

I hate this console exclusive bulls***. Bring all games to all platforms.

I for one like exclusive games. I prefer to get the best game possible and not some crap port. Granted that doesn't apply to sf but still. Games built from the ground up for a specific platform over ports any day.

The Tomb Raider tournament community is pretty big.

I main Lara, but sometimes pick the T-rex.

Pop-culture wise - Street Fighter is bigger. It's one of the go to parodies. Within the gaming world, Tomb Raider is currently more successful and relevant. It'll be interesting to see how console exclusivity effects each game, but fact of the matter is, if I'm betting on who will get the most sales, Tomb Raider wins. It's a far more popular genre with way less sequel fatigue.

As for SF5 staying exclusive, I doubt it. What's the running joke? Hyper Alpha Omega X 3D tournament edition? SF5 will stay exclusive, but I doubt xbox owners won't be denied an opportunity to play any Street Fighter 5 games on their console.

What percentage of Xbox One owners will buy Tomb Raider in Q4 2014?
What percentage of PS4 owners will buy SFV in Q1/Q2 2015?

How is it that TR gets Q1 and SFget Q1Q2? You mean Q1 or Q2?

I wasn't sure when SFV was supposed to be released. I think you have to give both games a 2-3 month window to see how they sell. If SFV releases in March, I didn't want to cut off its Q2 sales.

I actually think TR is bigger in both, and the numbers prove that...

Do you have any data to back up the claim that SF is bigger within "pop-culture"? I'd actually argue if anything, it's probably just the opposite, but the facts so far only show TR being more relevant, more popular, and selling through significantly more.

Go read my earlier post.

Serious question, how well do fighting games sell?

Depends. SF 4 sold a little over 3 million. MK9 sold around 4 million.

Street fighter at its most popular(on console) sold little over 6 million.

Vanilla, or all 10 versions of SF4.

Anyway, I bought 2 versions, one for X360 (super street fighter 4), one for PC (super street fighter 4 arcade edition).

Its amazing how little they add to a version & sell it as a full game. Add 4 characters, never mind one of them is evil version of Ryu, some balancing, & sell as arcade edition. Not even bother to add some stages.
Capcom, king of milking.

Not to mention on disk DRM. I manage to found the location where they keep the 'DLC' costumes on my PC, change a few file names, & 'unlocked' the DLC costumes on my PC. So shameful.

Ryu going to be in Super Smash Bros. I don't see Lara in that game. MIC DROP

Where did you get your numbers? Those are WAY off...

Good to see as usual you are providing sources yourself.

EDIT: Flynn once again pulling the 'rate things as funny because I can't win arguments' tactics.

The numbers I generally share are easily accessible from online sources.

Menace's numbers don't match any numbers online I can find.

SF4 actually sold much better than he noted, and SF2 sold significantly more than he mentions... Take 10 minutes to find those numbers from credible sources, and you'll see.

Now there's fighting over which exclusive will sell more on which console..... Oy 've

I used to laugh at these posts a couple of years ago but now find them depressing.

Sure a lot of talk about a fighting game that doesn't come out for another year.
