Capcom: SF V will never see a release on XBox

Importance to the video game world. Tomb Raider is nothing of importance other than pointy boobs. Street fighter is on another level. Given the choice of which franchise to have, Streey Fighter, easily.

One has tournaments centers around it for the past 20 years attended by hundreds of thousands of people.

Well, if there's a decent d-pad controller I'll be getting a ps4.
Nothing of importance and pointy boobs should never be in the same sentence. Fact.

Capcom can deny that it won't ever be on XBox One all they want, but at this point why would anyone believe them. They've taken the boy who cried wolf parable and turned into the Capcom parable.

Yeah after them saying Resident Evil 4 would be GC exclusive it's hard to take them seriously with similar announcements.

You guys know that Sony paid for the development of the game right?. The only reason this event needs to be mentioned by capcom is because some people are still holding out hope it'll some how end up on the XB1. Its never happening, its most likely in the contract.

Poke an eye out with those things...

Maybe Super Street Fight 5 Ultimate Mega Deluxe Omega Bravo Frappuccino Edition will come out on X1.

I'm pretty sure this deal they inked with Sony includes all dumbass name variations of Street Fighter 5 that we can come up with.

If you want to play SF V, you need a PC or PS4.

Maybe we'll luck out and get a Street Fighter Alpha, a new Darkstalkers or something down the line on XBO.

Microsoft is the publisher for Rise of the Tomb Raider. So they are definatly paying for a lot of its development. I'm not going to say SF5 is coming to Xbox one, just that taking Capcom word for anything is dumb.

Plainview, sorry man, but your posts are utterly hollow. Nothing more than your opinion.

Fact is, TR has sold more, is a more popular franchise, is a more important IP, and is a much higher-selling genre.

It's not even close. TR craps on Street Fighter in every way, and until you can show one shred of evidence to the contrary, your posts about it are no more than mindless drivel.

Capcom legally can't do this, so unless you are expecting Rise of the Tome Raider to come to the PS4..

His post are hollow, if his posts are hollow yours are non-existent.

EDIT: I See Flynns upto his old "Rate something as funny when I have no rebuttal trick" good to know I won again :) then again he's lost quite a bit lately so he should be used it to by now.

They maybe can't put SF5 legally on Xbox One, but what about a SF5.5 Special Championship edition? Unless we have the contract and have a lawyer go through the contract to look for loop holes can we really trust the spirit of what capcom states? Thats all i'm saying. And yes I expect TR on PS4 at some point.

You really think Capcom is that stupid? and do you really think that Sony is that stupid?. The Contract will be pretty ironclad imo, do not expect SF5 in any form on the XB1.

lol at this thread.

Who cares which is more important to gaming. The sad thing here is that 2 big name multi-platorm games are now exclusive, in some capacity, to a specific console. That is sad, and to be honest, bad.

I hate this console exclusive bulls***. Bring all games to all platforms.

Well with Capcom, history says yes definitely they are that stupid. SF Special Championship Edition, Resident Evil Code Veronica, Resident Evil 4(Mikami said he'd cut his head off it went to another console). Sony, history says at times, but of course they're going to say never. I don't think SF5 will but some different version might but not for at least a year. History says, don't believe in Capcom Exclusives that's all.

But think of the console warz man. Console warz peeps gotta warz.

I am sure those little brained people can argue over box colour, or something equally as silly.

I'm a big fan of the 360 concave breathing in design anyone who disagrees is a peasant.

I believe what Capcom says, considering they are dead broke and needed someone to help them finish the game, Sony had them over a barrel. If you want to play SF5 buy it on PC, Play it on PS4, or play in the Arcade.

1) Half of Street Fighters popularity came as a result of insanely successful arcade machines. Where are Tomb Raiders arcade units?

2) Street Fighter was born, and reached its peak much earlier than Tomb Raider. I think it's safe to say that Street Fighter took up a much larger portion of gamer mindshare in 1991 than Tomb Raider did in 2014.

3) Sometime in the last 30 years gaming has gone from a small, niche entertainment medium for kids to the self sustaining behemoth that it is today. The entities that elevated the medium where it is today deserve more recognition, respect, prestige than the entities that benefitted from such an effort.

4) Street Fighter is an IP that is significantly deeper than Tomb Raider. Fans of SF often sink hundreds, if not thousands of hours into the game. Fans of TR play the game three or four times. Where does that come up in your equation to find out who's impact is bigger?

5) Street Fighter dominates its genre much more than Tomb Raider does it's genre. Street Fighter sits at the throne of the fighting genre with Mortal Kombat and Tekken at its feet. Tomb Raider can barely see the throne that Metal Gear Solid owns in the 3rd person action space.

I got your back Plainview.

Maybe, but Capcom is like that girlfriend that cheated multiple times and swears she wont again but will then go and f*** all your friends.

Well unless Capcom wants to not exist I don't think it'll happen this time. Sony is probably on the look out to make sure that the agreement they had was ironclad and if they break it Sony could either stop the game ever coming out or sue Capcom into the ground for money they don't have.

If you like SF a lot buy a PS4 :) simple, or play in the arcades like I do.

I'll own a PS4 at some point. No doubt. Just f*** Capcoms word :)

I couldn't give a flying F about this game. Not a fighter fan. But what do publishers gain by cutting off half the market? That goes for TR as well for its limited time.

More deals for original games like Bloodborne or Sunset Overdrive makes more sense as exclusives.

Funding I suppose.

If you wanted to make a video game, & you lack the necessary funding to acheived the vision you wanted, or your parent company do not want to fund it. Someone come over & say, I fund you for your project, for a cut of profit or making it excutives, will you not at least consider.

More sales is a valid argument to release on as many platform as possible, but sales are the 'ending/result' part of development, & Funding is the 'beginning/drive force' of the development.

A game that doesn't get funded, doesn't get made. Its a very simplify reasoning for exclusivity, & I think you get my point.

Maybe Square-enix do not want to fund the next TR, or give them a lower budget, or worst, they want to cut the number of stuff to reduce cost. MS come in & made a deal, giving the extra funding needed, so they can get the game going, or justify the having all the stuff around. Its all theroy of coiurse, & I am not here to make MS the good guys, but TR being a major francise, unless there is something major, I cannot see how tehy will not want to keep it Multiplatform. Actually teh more I think about it, the more I thimk the stuff retraining part of my theory make sense.

As, it seems, with most Japanese game companies, Capcom only has their ignorance to blame. Instead of following and moving with the time, they stick to their old outdated business structure and practices. They kept heavily outsourcing work, and they didn't move with the digital uprising.

You know something is really wrong when your games sell well, yet, you keep losing money.

Funny thing is, this deal with Sony will ultimately not help them. Sony will be taking the vast majority of profits, and Capcom is most likely still going to post losses at the end of their next fiscal year--post SF5.

This is part of the reason that ive bought every console for past 3 generations and have 2 high end gaming PCs.

Street Fighter lol. It's cute to see Japanese company trying to over throw a American company. I bet the new DarkSouls will be the same.
