Still want to see the multiplayer in action. Based on the lack of updated videos at E3, I'm still a bit skeptical. Gut says there's no reason to hold Cloud physics back from E3 unless it's either delayed or not performing as originally shown. Hope the gut is wrong.

If Crackdown multiplayer is the AAA, cloud powered game changer they hyped it to be, I think it would drastically change the rheteroic around the Xbox 1st/2nd party brand. Great, never before duplicated multiplayer games can move entire groups of people over to consoles.

I loved the original Crackdown. I really hope 3 brings that fun back!!

All the impressions I've read said it sounds like CD 1 on steroids, which is all I really wanted.

I'm hoping they show the MP at SDCC, but I'm guessing they'll probably save it for GC.

The 4 player co-op in CD was awesome, especially sailing around the city with the wingsuit. Hopefully the wingsuit will return in CD3.

Big Crackdown 3 News Is Coming From San Diego Comic-Con 2017

Earlier today, we broke down the must-attend gaming panels for San Diego Comic-Con, and amongst the ones we included was one for Microsoft’s Crackdown 3, which promises to be quite a cool presentation for Xbox One owners. Today, the team detailed us on just what we can expect from the panel.

Microsoft has confirmed that the panel will feature senior narrative designer Dave Mongan, senior art director Dave Johnson, design director Clint Bundrick and a “special guest panelist,” who is rumored to be star Terry Crews (though that has yet to be fully confirmed). In it, the team will discuss “behind-the-scenes development of Crackdown 3,” but, in addition, it will also have “exciting new Crackdown 3 news” to go along with that.

In addition, the panel, which takes place on Saturday, July 22ndfrom 11 AM to 12 PM PDT, will have a Q & A session, where fans can ask certain things about the game’s development. Larry “Major Nelson” Hyrb will host the panel, and is sure to announce whatever news comes from it on the Xbox Wire page, as well as his Twitter. And more than likely, the footage that we’ll see from the game will be powered by Microsoft’s new Xbox One X hardware, as we saw from E3 last month.

So what could this news be? Well, it could be anything really, but it could very well be pointing at a closed beta for the game, which is set to premiere this November. This will allow players to try out the game’s online features with their super agents of choice, using a variety of weapons and skills to wipe out crime. That’s just an estimated guess, but that could be the most likely scenario.

We’ll let you know whatever the team is up to as soon as the official announcement is made, as well as if Crews managed to show up to do some smack talking with potential players. After all, he’s a gamer himself, and chances are he won’t hold back when it comes to kicking ass and taking names with his character.

That pic is from the demo in 2015. Sorry people...but I don't know how you can say the single player demos look the same. Game has been drastically downgraded. Just the lighting and draw distances alone make a huge difference.

I keep trying to get re-hyped for the game but every time I see something from 2015 or 2017, I'm reminded how much worse it looks two years later. Wish they didn't show anything in 2015. If all I saw was the 2017 demo, I'd probably be pretty excited for the game because I really liked the original.

That was from the multiplayer demo in 2015, not SP. There is no massive scale destruction in the SP.

Its hard to get excited listening to s***ty youtubers who know nothing about the game.

Sumo on Why Crackdown 3 Took so Long “Just Incredibly Ambitious”
July 11, 2017

According to Sumo Digital’s Design Director Clint Bundrick, Crackdown 3 has taken so long to develop because the game is “just incredibly ambitious”. Bundrick was interviewed recently by GameReactor, where he was asked why the game has taken such a lengthy time to put together, to which he replied:

A game like this is just incredibly ambitious. The campaign world is twice the size of the city in the original Crackdown, and not only in terms of footprint – the tallest building is also twice as tall as the tallest building in the original game. So it’s a super ambitious game for the campaign and then an incredibly ambitious game for the competitive multiplayer mode. This is a franchise that deserved to come back right and we wanted to take our time to do it right.

Crackdown has always been a game about a verticality, a bit of a vertical platformer, and it’s still very much about that. We’ve added some stuff like the double jump and the airburst, so now players can combine those moves and make this long, crazy jumps that not even we are anticipating. Players can also use that in combat: you could be in the middle of a big jump and if somebody fires a rocket at you, you can airburst to dodge it. It gives the player way more choice and in the moment to moment makes the jumping a lot more fun.

Crackdown 3 is set to arrive on Xbox One and PC on November 7th, yup, the very same launch date as the Xbox One X, to which the game will run at native 4K and 30 frames per second on. Crackdown 3 will also support High Dynamic Range (HDR) and Dolby Atmos.

I don't know if it's because I'm watching a YouTube video on my phone but the sp doesn't look all that great. Maybe by the time it released it will look better but what I'm seeing is just meh. Now the gameplay looks fun just like the original.

I tried to wear my beer goggles when watching the videos...you know, the 1:00 in the morning and she's not that bad looking anymore beer goggles...but they didn't work. Game is still so ugly. I just can't not be disappointed. I like the first Crackdown and was super hyped for this. Every time I watch a video for this game I'm bummed a little more.

I don't think it looks that bad. But I wish they would have used infamous Second Son as visual inspiration instead of the first CD.

Gamers are fuking weird. I don't know what some people are expecting these days. Betcha I enjoy the hell out of this game on my 1X though. Looks like Crackdown on crack and Jack. Bring that s***!

It's definitely not as impressive visually as I would've expected.

I'm just curious why they haven't shown off MP lately.
