The game looks great for what it is. You can't have every game be gritty and realistic looking. I think the issue is people just don't see enough gritty games coming down the pipeline for Xbox right now and hate on Crackdown 3's visuals. If it was a Nintendo game it would be lauded for it's art style.

I think the Art direction in Crackdown in general is pretty weak. That was never the games strong suit. I would have liked to see a more distinct art direction, personally, but It doesn't look nearly as bad people are saying.

the game looks great as does the art style. But to me it looks to fast paced, makes all the explosions look crammed in. Would be nice if there was a first person alternative view

Love that art style. Almost like a comic book style.

Game isn't a looker imo. At least not when compared to sunset overdrive. But it looks fun. Look forward to seeing more of it.

It's interesting that were months from release, this games primary hype was built around full scale multiplayer destruction and they aren't even talking about it yet. Have a strong feeling the multiplayer component will not be ready in 2017. At least not the fully destructible cloud based one. We'll probably get some placeholder multiplayer in its place.

If it is ready at release and they don't show it until Gamescom, it's another sign that Xbox marketing is clueless.

Agreed and are they even using the cloud still?

MS has been on relative silence on all of their near term first party stuff outside of Sea of Thieves whose development is based on players playing early builds. I wouldn't read too much into it. While the graphics are pretty pedestrian that causes me to be pretty bullish on destruction. I'm confident it will be in there seeing as though it's the centerpiece of multiplayer.

I think they will have an MP blowout at Gamescom. I don't see a big issue with focusing on the campaign at E3. It's a buy for me based on the standard co-op campaign aspect anyway and the full blown destruction didn't make sense in the standard Crackdown campaign framework (i.e. taking down a building to kill a sub-boss and all henchmen therein....seemed it would make it too easy; also you're supposed to be saving the city and not completely destroying it....though, of course some collateral damage is expected :)). Anywho, will defo be picking this up on 11/7 along side the X1X.

Regardless of graphics, it's a Day 1 purchase as long as there's any assemblance of the physics they demoed 2 years ago. I'm getting a bit skeptical though because we know that demo would be creating all sorts of positive buzz. It makes 0 sense to under-sell it today. The question is why under-play it right now? Saying that this is just what Microsoft marketing does with their games is a pretty poor answer.

Bargain game? More signs cloud stuff won't be available at launch.

It's not a bargain game. Amazon does the same thing for Prime pre-orders (20% off pre-orders), and Walmart is trying to match their offer on new games.

Also, the box art is probably just a placeholder, but that looks a little like a '3'....?

I personally think the devs are quite proud of the single player campaign and don't want people to forget it actually has one. If CD3 is a hit on 1X, it'll coincide with Gears and Halo quite well. Both titles are pretty much the pentacle for having stellar single and Multi player components. The MP (barring it delivers as promised) could be unprecedented in the console space. I think it's in good hands though. Was kind of strange how they didn't show ANY of the MP however.

It's like when a new version of King Kong releases and people don't give a s*** about anything else, they just want to see Kong.

Crackdown 3 will receive a powerful technical upgrade: the builds shown are old
By Emanuele Pietroiaco the July 17, 2017

Crackdown 3 has talked more about the negative than the positive aspects, especially during the presentation to the last E3 2017.

The game, unquestionably entertaining, however, lined up with graphic lovers, and after much development, something more expected from the engineering point of view.

Critics came to the Sumo Digital headquarters, which promptly responded to game detractors: the builds up to now shown relate to a version of the old game, not yet complete and widely reshaped.

With this Sumo Digital it has been said that artificial intelligence was set to the lowest level to make the demo run on the E3 2017 while on the technical side the game already in recent months will receive an important graphic upgrade with more detailed, more effective elements , More complex polygonal models:

"There is also a lot of work to do yet. Surely you will have the chance to play the card of years of development but several improvements have been added in recent months. It's an amazing game to see but we've heard and understand your concerns, "Rukari Austin wrote on Reddit.

"The Crackdown 3 build that we had for the E3 (which was posted online) was designed to simply show various aspects of the game and is subject to change. We will work to share the 4K material shortly, "Austin always twitched.

Edit: I couldn't get the Tweets to copy here.

They seem to be taking the odd route of talking a lot without really saying anything at all. Isn't this game less than 4 months out? I'd rather they push it out than release a half baked game.

Yeah I'm also a bit worried that they're scrambling to meet this deadline. I'd be happy if the game got delayed because I believe Crackdown has the bones of a pillar 1st party franchise and it would be a shame if it's rushed and far short of the original vision.

They had to of know people were going to rip apart the graphics, braindead enemies and animation. There is no way it's not the main point of everyones conversation when you are launching a new console and you are an exclusive game.

They would have been better off to hold it back and show it in close to release form @ Gamescom.
