"Overall, Crackdown 3 is shaping up to be one of the most fun and destructible games for Xbox One, and whilst the solo aspect looks to be an engrossing experience of its own, it’s the cloud-powered multiplayer component I’m more anxious to learn about. With the developers promising more news in the Summer, one can hope that the wait won’t be too long."

You had me at fun. SOLD.
Yeah it's the multiplayer bits that I think will blow people away.

Also... Your name? When? Why?!?

I'm not comfortable with change...I had to stop Bruce Jenners sex change tv show after the first episode. I still call out my first boyfriend's name every time I orgasm (Mr. Miyagi)... I'm still turning in tax returns with my income unchanged from when I was a student.

Last week. Went back to my original name from 15 years ago. I missed it.

Sorry Crackdown makes me so negative people. Feel like I keep coming in here and taking a dump on everyone's good time. I'm obviously pent up and need to do something other than watch crappy gamers play crappy demos. Xbox marketing is trash though....regardless of how this game does.

Well, you've got to admit it fits Better... I mean, he hardly looks like a low area of land between hills or mountains, typically with a river or stream flowing through it, now does he?

Now, associating him with Hedonism... I figured you'd approve ;)

I completely agree with you on how they are marketing it. Having non-gaming celebrities poorly show off your game-that-is-getting-a-lot-of-negative-reactions is pretty dumb. They need to pull a Sony and show some Cutscenes...

I seen one video on YouTube that was in 4k.. The video was amazing and vibrant with colors.. They need to release more 4k,hdr videos and I bet peoples opinions would change!

I guess I don't get the expectations people had. It's crackdown. It is what it is.

Graphics: Cell Shaded graphics are not detailed, It's supposed to look like a giant comic book world to explore. It's not going to be a visual stunner. . The game never has been, it's always about the chaos on the screen.

Gameplay: How do you show the anxiety of climbing the agency tower?? Or trying to take out a boss that is way above your ability level with a kamikaze type run?? Or finally making that jump to get that elusive orb?? This game isn't about canned dramatic sequence like God of War or Uncharted. So it's hard to really show great footage.

Personally I'm looking forward to a game that is just a simple arcady fun for those days when i don't want anything to serious.

I thought his name was about when you feel trapped in a k-hole.

Ketamine valley.

Exactly.

I mean this is the game people expected to show off the power of X?

They still haven't uploaded the SDCC panel footage they said was going to be up on Monday. :smash::smash:

Dude the game have months of development before its release. Why are you guys giving this title a hard time if the game are not done?

What if MS didnt really want to show its current development on this title and wait till the end.

Were only in July and we have till November.

Hold of judgement till the game is released.

That never happens in ever though.

I completely agree with you. My only issue is how they've handled it so far. If what they are showing is only old footage, they should be very clear about that.
Just come out and say 'hey, we're going to show you something cool on an old build, but this isn't the final version....The big destruction is mostly MP....Etc etc'

I known things change up until final release, but the presentation of what they've shown far hasn't been great.

CD was never a graphic showcase anyways, so I don't care (to a point) what it looks like. The problem here is it's exclusive, and an X launch title, and so far they've done very little to get people excited about it. In fact the stuff they've shown and the way they've shown it seems to have had the opposite effect.

Hopefully Gamescom will change that. Hopefully.

I wish the lights popped more, everything has a sort of muted flat look to it. If the lights popped more and the colors stood out more it'd go a long way to making this look like more than an average looking cell shaded game. They originally went cell shaded in the first game because they couldn't do what they wanted to do like the jumping great distances, large populations, long draw distances etc with a realistic art style (I read this in an interview back when it came out) but they don't seem to have done much between the original release and now to really give the series any extra style or flair. I loved the first game for what it was, the second was a big let down but this one could still be a good game it's just not a very impressive looking one IMO.

Started at E3 when a they decided to show the game for the first time 3 years after announcing it with a poorly put together trailer instead of a detailed play through. Going with the celeb thing and all of that just gives the impression that they aren't confident in the title.

I think the lighting is OK. It could probably use more water puddles and such. That seems to be this generation'sl lens flare.

That would have been a nice touch but also things like neon signs etc would look great if they had a brighter look to them, everything just looks kind of drab IMO.

They should have gone into Tron/Blade Runner territory with the lighting!

It's what's missing, imo. And maybe add some wall running... And spiderweb swinging.

Letdown 3 confirmed. I'll pick it up for $20 at the bargain bin, if it doesn't get canned.

No Man's Sky is more your speed. Presenting the dumpster fire of gaming:

Will definitely be a let down. But with the standards so high that could still mean it's an awesome game.

To be fair, we haven't seen it in HDR.

exactly wait for hdr content.. there's a 4k version of one of those videos Rollins posted on this page that's on YouTube. Need to have a 4k tv with a YouTube app on it. To watch it.. Stream that video and be amazed with how much the colors pop off the screen
