So I’ve been playing for about an hour, and all I can say is, if you liked CD1, you’ll have fun with this one.

Honestly, it’s like they made it TOO similar to one. It feels *exactly* the same, even down to the character movement. I was hoping they were going to take the ideas of 1 and really run with it, but it feels like I’m playing a DLC with better graphics and a bigger world. It’s fun, I just wanted it to be more.

That being said, I’m still having a blast with it.

For those that missed it, if you set your region to NZ or Australia, you can play it now.

Edit: I’m trying to play it slowly, but the game is going fast. It’s going to be short. I hit the first mini-boss in literally the first 15 minutes. I’ll play it again on Legendary too, but don’t pay full price for it.

Overall I’m disappointed they didn’t do more with this. It’s fun for what it is, but as a huge CD fan myself, and after all this time, it leaves a lot to be desired. So much potential, yet it feels like this game could have been made in a short period of time.

All the negatives aside, I’ve just accepted its basically an enhanced version of 1, and playing as Crews is fun. He’s got some great lines so far (‘f*ck gravity!’), and I’ve LOL’d a few times. Orb collecting is a as addictive as ever! Can’t wait for bigger guns and bigger explosions.

What is great about this gen compare to last is the support to continue this title.

Seems to be the theme with most of MS's first party releases (FH excluded) since GP was launched.

Crackdown is why I love gamepass. There really isn't a place in this market for these simple games anymore. Everything is online competitive, online rpg grinds, or epic story games. Crackdown really doesn't lend itself to those genre's. Its gameplay would wear thin for RPG grinds and too simple for deep competitive play, its story can't be epic way too simple. Game Pass is perfect for it though. Its perfect to provide a few evening of fun and distraction. I mean Forza already made game pass worth my money this is icing on the cake. I like simple games at times. Just finished Kingdom hearts, so I could do with a simple story for a little bit!

He has been trolling the f*** out of everything Xbox lately going into every thread here. In fact, he said he isn't even going to get the next Xbox. I personally couldn't spend every waking moment talking about a product I don't like or want. But I am unique.

Just the truth, three of their four 1st party releases since GP launched were mediocre games, that shouldn't be the case with first party but when you constantly have the "oh well it's on GP so I don't have to buy it" buffer it kind of takes the sting out of it for some. The "gems' you talk about are games that many already paid for before this service launched so GP does them no good in that regard. There is nothing wrong with having the service but MS should be doing a better job with the quality of their first party releases.
 
Ouch, this game is getting trashed. Kind of funny, actually. All that boasting, all that development time. I just have to roll my eyes. It makes me wonder if they can ever produce a good (let alone great) game. "Wait until E3" I guess. Again.

MS delivered the teraflops. Now they need to stop delivering the other kind of flops.

Well its not like that has anything to do with GP. Their troubles existed long before they launched it.

No PS games since Spiderman release a half a year ago...and we are still waiting on the upcoming indie game that is two months out called Days Gone.

They can now that they bought Playground Games. A dev studio that prides itself on quality.

Yes Andy, Moon Studios, The Coalition, 343 and Ninja Theory are going to bomb their game... Because Crackdown..

That wasn't what my point was though, it's just sad that it seems to be the same "oh well at least it's on GP so I don't have to buy it" line has applied to most of their releases since GP has arrived.

343 hasn't made a really good Halo game yet, they seem to do ok with the MP portion but they've stunk when it comes to the campaign, the last Gears was the worst single player story of the main games as well.

I feel like this is the last release of the old Microsoft studios.

They have cleaned house as Menace said. Hopefully Xbox Games studios pumps out some hits.
