I notice that most feel console parity sucks. Earlier this gen Val was angry with MS for "holding PS4 back" with xb1 parity crap even though higher res titles existed on PS4. Now a dev mentions the Pro's cpu is a limiting factor for 60fps and Val calls BS on that? He knows titles for pro are interlaced to get some titles to 4K* Why would that dev lie when we all know that fact that Pro isn't that powerful?

The absolute worst part is Val seems happy hoping that parity will be the reason the Scorpio doesn't get D2 4K/60?
Xbox is still holding everything that is 3rd party back so yeah I'm pissed.
Everybody that's agenda free knows parity is why Destiny 2 is 30fps.
I LOL real hard @ any and everybody who believes otherwise.

Right, if there wasn't an xbox = 60fps across the board. lmao

Dats why BF1/BF4 and others are all 30fps, right? Xbox holding those back too.

I hate marketing deals. Especially if they make it so you have to pretend one console isn't getting the game at all.
The pretending it doesn't exist on other platforms is done from both sides as you have those who treat a game like its a exclusive because of exclusive content and some who are hurt that there fav console don't get the exclusives so they act like it doesn't exist on there platform.

I agree pretty dumb

But BF4 etc are not 30fps on Xbox. Explain how those games have more scale, more physics, better visuals, more players, etc etc.

It's bungie, not xbox.
Again I am not getting into foolish comparing other games talk.

Oh its Bungie and they are choosing 30fps because of Xbox One's hardware/parity.

Bungie already said Destiny 2 is a heavy cpu game, Xbox one cpu is superior to ps4s

Party because of ps4's lack of cpu power.

PS4 could easily run Destiny 2 900/60fps heck maybe even 1080p
Pro could easily hit 1080p/60fps and likely higher resolutions as could Scorpio but even higher on the resolution part.
They should push 4k interlaced @ 60 on pro if it can't do the normal 4k/60. If scorpio can hit 4k/60 without having to interlace let them push it. I can't see it being a big deal for the average folks. Those that want a Playstation won't be scared off by this.

Destiny 1, eh?

You mean the same Destiny that was a little under three months to go from release and was going to be 900p on Xbox One and 1080p on PS4? The same Destiny where MS had to send wizards to Bungies offices to help get the game to 1080p?

Your proof of paid/forced parity is a game having the same resolution and framerate as the PS4 version only after MS is publicly embarrassed that their console is under performing and sending staff to help rectify that by pulling back Kinect OS performance reserves, trying to find performance gains with their poor performing devkits (at the time) and optimizing other things THEMSELVES at a third party developers studio to get that done... not to mention you are singling out the XBO version, yet somehow develop amnesia with regards to the PS3 version of the Destiny 1 (I'm assuming you'll tell us how that doesn't factor and it's only XBO)...

Thats the Destiny 1 that I remember. I'm not sure you wanna use that as the basis for your argument.

With regards to CPU bound games, on paper we should expect similar performance to the CPU in Pro.,, 2.1Ghz vs 2.3Ghz, it's not the biggest advantage unless there are other things affecting it's performance that we don't know about.

Anyone expecting a dramatic difference in that type of scenario, it's on them. GPU-wise you could expect them to do some insane stuff in comparison, but if the framerate is being dragged down by CPU, it is what it is.

I'd say the one possible caveat could be if MS encourages developers to start taking advantage of FreeSync and has an available option to unlock the frame rate. A game that is deadlocked at 30fps, if you unlock it, it can likely bounce around anywhere from 30+fps to over 60 in some cases if there isn't a cap. FreeSync could take advantage of and display every single frame appropriately; that is a Scorpio specific feature as far as consoles go. Huge plus IMO.
I guess it'll all come down to the DX 12 hardware MS put in to take the load off the CPU. It's going to be interesting to see what they can pull off.

Is there an open beta for this? Or is it pre order beta only?

Another third party game thread dragged into the mud.

I wasn't a fan of the first game. But I'm interested in learning about this version. Not reading about parity conspiracies.

How would Microsoft even be in a position to dictate that type of thing? They're in danger of eventually being third place in the marketplace.

I watched the stream again and I was a little more impressed by it the second time. The guided games thing looks sweet. As do the extra weapon load outs. I did find it amusing about how they focused on the social aspect of the game saying how great it was in Destiny, when literally all of that part was handled by LookingForGroup sites and Reddit.

People are outrage over a mass produced, AAA, vanilla blockbuster that's catered to the widest possible audience is just that?

As I said near the start of this topic I see Bungie learning from the first games backlash the only worry is it gets rushed out this year due to the contract

Pro can't do 4K/60fps normal with Destiny 2.
I want 1080p/1440p/60fps(with HDR and maybe some CB) on Pro

Said it before, will say it again; can't wait for post-Destiny Bungie. Once this contract wth Activision is done, I'm confident they will deliver one of the best FPS games the world has ever seen.

Until then...

Old Bungie doesn't exist anymore so there is no reason for that kind of confidence.

Looks pretty good. I'm sure it will be fun, but until they have more to show it feels like it should have been an expansion.

Since we're being reset maybe i was expecting too much. With much of the assets being recycled, no new classes, same enemies, aside from the change to how you set your guns most of the systems seem to be the same, and back to only 4 areas. I'm left to wonder if I will be going through and just mostly earning the exotics left behind on my character, if that's the case I will feel cheated like i'm just going through remixed environments sans my phat loot. And for anyone that spent a lot of silver on the dances that will probably feel doubly worse.

The change to 4v4 with strikes still being 3 and raids being 6 seems weird to me. When it was 6 it was easier to change between raid, pvp or split in half for strikes, now someone is the odd one out when going to pvp to strikes.
