Said it before, will say it again; can't wait for post-Destiny Bungie. Once this contract wth Activision is done, I'm confident they will deliver one of the best FPS games the world has ever seen.

Until then...

Wasn't it a 10 year contract?

Why didn't they just make D2 1080p/60FPS on PS4 and 720p/900p/60FPS on Xbox?

That dude from Bungie flat out said the pro can't handle the game lol.
because the game is CPU heavy. That is why you won't see different settings because it's not a graphic issue on the GPU

The problem is that these games are played by a large group of people, and there are very different opinions on what the game should be. 343 went through this with Halo 4, trying to make everyone happy and ended up making everyone miserable.

A game like Destiny has to cater to the casuals, the middle gamers (not quite hardcore, not quite casual), and the pro gamers.

The hardcore crowd tends to be the most vocal (obviously) so they think their view is the majority, but it isn't.

The other issue is that people have unreasonable expectations. If you buy a single player game for $60 and get 12 hours out of it, you're happy if it is good. You put hundreds of hours into Destiny, and complain there's no content. See the problem? Early on they made guns and gear so hard to get, that it was not fun. Now, they made it so you don't have to grind too badly. I play some strikes and other things on the weekends and I can get max level (eventually) just like anyone else.

For example, the hardcore competitive crowd hates skill based matchmaking, because every time they play, they get paired with top level players and it takes longer to find a game. Me? I can jump on and not get crushed by these top players and actually have a competitive game. Which is right? There's no answer that makes everyone happy.
None of that has anything to do with what I said.

It isn't a hardcore vs casual issue at all.

It lacked content, that is a fact not an opinion. The game never grew and stayed the same for years, that is a fact not an opinon.

Everyone would probably like more content. That's not what you said though. You say the game never got better, which is very much an opinion. The game didn't go the direction you wanted.

People basically seem to want Destiny to be a WoW type MMO. That's perfectly fine, but you're going to be disappointed. It just isn't that game, and I'm glad it isn't.

It didn't get better...it got worse if anything. And guess how you make a game like this better? WITH MORE f***ING CONTENT. and more variety and creativity in said content.Nw sytems and functions, and new, unique things to do. You don't make it better by taking the majority of content away and then act like it is new when you give a tiny portion of it back.

I don't want Destiny to be WOW game. I want stupid ignorant devs to realise that the end game is the be all andall in these games, and wasting 80% of your resources on Story campaign that is really nothing but a leveling system to make you end game ready is really f***ing stupid.

but hey, keep defending all the s***, I am sure it will help in the long run:txbrolleyes:

Does someone need a hug??

I am very critical about Destiny but its a complete lie to say it didn't get better.

And yes lacking content is an opinion

Personally I think the original was a rollercoaster when it came to improvements. Some updates made it better, some did nothing, and others made it worse. The original game was definitely lacking content but with all the DLC it filled out a bit. Of course there is a solid argument to say some of that DLC should have been in the game to start with.

Everyone would love more content. I just want to know what game like Destiny is better and has more content, because I would love to play it.

You want the bar to be higher, great. Show me the gold standard game of this type.

When someone plays a game for hundreds of hours and says it was terrible... well you see the issue.

Why have such low standards though? What are we comparing it to? Other disappointing games like The Division?

That's my point - there's nothing to compare it to. Are the standards low or high? Everyone would like a huge world to explore, tons of raids, etc.

There was tons and tons of hype for this game, hype it was never, ever going to live up to. Should we ask for more? Of course, but after awhile it just comes off as saltiness. People are still on Reddit asking for Bungie to change things to the current game.

There is a million games you can compare it to. Lets not pretend its the most innovative games of all time or anything.

How does the PVP compare to Halo? Not well
How does the campaign compare to a loot based shooter like Borderlands? Not well.
It has the grind of an MMO without the great social elements to go with it or the abundance of content.

The hype led to disappoint sure but without the hype the game wouldn't have been popular because at the end of the day what really makes Destiny special?

That's what I asked for initially - something to compare it to :)

Here is the trick- a person/company makes a product. If you like it, you buy it. If you don't, then dont. They dont OWE anyone anything just because they are attached to the previous game. It drives me crazy how personally people take this stuff.

Wait, is that an option now? DO YOU EVEN CONSOLE, BRO?!?!?

It is disappointing that the PVP won't have servers. p2p will keep it from being a decent comp game.

I can't believe a game of Destinys popularity won't get dedicated servers, but then again neither does COD.

It depends on the goals, and if you can spend less on infrastructure and supply a less-good experience that will still sell to the same number of people, and you're more focused on the dollars than the gamers, that's how it happens.

You are half right.
Yes PS4 would be 60fps just like it would of been in Destiny 1 where both games were 1080p/30fps even with a large power gap between the 2.
PS4 is a far better minimum to work with.

For single player games..no doubt. But being D2 is a multiplayer only steam is the best PC solution followed by Origin.

Who cares about other games?
Destiny 1080p/30fps on both XBO and PS4 with a 40+% power difference and I will keep stating this fact.

BS I been saying parity since before the games launched.
Where has it suited me? Its done nothing but piss me off.
Its coming to Scorpio as well and the excuses and reactions from the hypocrites will be hilarious.
Ends results? Are you serious! Destiny is the end result.

Gets spun? So they would admit the real reasons? You are batting 100's

Pro will be the best place to PLAY the game

Higher resolutions=GPU being the factor PS4,Pro and Scorpio have enough GPU grunt to run 60fps.

Neither will Scorpio haha

Not because PS4 and Pro don't have enough strength either.
Parity is the facts.

You quoting a a****** like reddragon speaks for itself.

Resolution and FPS are part of parity.
In most 3rd party games we don't see the 40+% difference.

You think Bungie is going to tell the real reasons? haha Very gullible one would be to believe that.
Or choosing to act like you believe it for your xbox defense.

Your argument is so empty that you switch up and bring in switch and guess what? Its so weak that I won't even entertain it.

All the proof I need(and theirs many examples) for the argument is Destiny 1.

Bungie/Activision came to Sony so how would Sony be funding them?
They didn't say the CPU was weak they claimed(lol) that it was the CPU's fault and what do you expect them to say?
We don't laughably believe they will admit its due to parity do we?

The higher the res the more GPU dependent the game gets(another reason why we know bungie is fos)

Pro can't do 4K/60fps normal with Destiny 2.
I want 1080p/1440p/60fps(with HDR and maybe some CB) on Pro

Some games do

Activision job is to complete the contract to have marketing rights and DLC to Sony.

However its Not Sony job to tell Activision what they should do to their other clients development.

I will say this again....The pro going to be Sony downfall when more games will show the difference.

How is it Sony's downfall? they have a 2-1 advantage already, they are stronger globally and 1.8TF's isn't going to make a night and day difference in games running at that level. They'll look better on scorpio yes, but they'll still look great on the Pro.

He needs his dreams of Lord and Savior Microsoft conquering the evil Sony to get through the day

That is a regular Elite controller with a purple light on it. NOT a purple controller, lol...
Not the controller but the comment for 60fps... "yes it will" hopefully 4k but 1080p is fine

Thinking about d2 it launches in sept and scorpio after that in what Nov? So what if scorpio does 4k/60 they probably won't let the public know until Scorpio's release to not hurt platform sales numbers.

It depends on the goals, and if you can spend less on infrastructure and supply a less-good experience that will still sell to the same number of people, and you're more focused on the dollars than the gamers, that's how it happens.

Exactly, that's the whole reason COD hasn't gotten dedicated servers, and Destiny prolly never will either.

PVP vs Halo?
Easily better IMO.. in popularity?Fact
After all the years worth of content released...Starting with Taken King the game turned out pretty incredible.
You don't agree? That's fine but its my opinion and I am entitled to it.
Have some concerns being the critic I am but overall think D2 looks great.
