Dragon Age: Inquisition - Nov. 18

Another thing i disliked....but probably is my own fault. I found plenty of weapons and armors along the way, but it was never very good or better than stuff i could craft myself. Is this because i did every little thing in Hinterlands in the beginning and thus also over-levelling a bit or is the loot just not that interesting anyway?

Menace and Deviant said the same thing, iirc. I found a few things that were better than my current gear, so my experience was a little different. However, I wasn't as gung-ho into crafting as other people, so it's possible I could've crafted something better, and I just didn't have the right schematic or ingredients.

Seems like it's safe to say, as a general rule, that you can craft things that are better than 99% of what you're going to find in the field. You have to be willing to put the time into crafting, of course.

Introducing the DAI Patch 5 Beta Program, Featuring the Black Emporium

At BioWare, we’re always looking for new ways to empower our players. Whether in person or online, we firmly believe in collecting feedback and working with our community to ensure we’re addressing issues important to both new and experienced players.
For Dragon Age: Inquisition, we’ve developed a faster and more compressed patch schedule than any prior BioWare game. However, due to the nature of the certification process, it can often still take weeks after developing a fix to release it on different platforms. Because of this, we continue to explore new ways to foster better communication between our players and developers.

Enter the Patch 5 beta program.

We want to open up our upcoming Patch 5 to a select group of PC players via signup in a closed, developer-like environment. This not only allows us to more quickly identify and respond to future issues, but gives our developers a great, new way to work directly with our players.
Patch 5 will be the biggest patch we’ve released to date, and it addresses a number of key concerns for our community.

As part of the beta, participants will have access to the Black Emporium, a mysterious underground shop run by an immortal proprietor. There, Inquisitors can find powerful artifacts and tools to aid their cause, purchase epic weapons, powerful accessories, new crafting materials and schematics, and even change their voice and facial appearance using the Mirror of Transformation.

In efforts to support different playstyles, we’ve also included an auto-attack key for single player. We’re also including the option to adjust the size of subtitles, and added a shader quality setting to the graphics options, giving players more versatility when running Inquisition.

In Skyhold, we’re adding party storage to the Undercroft—a new feature that many players asked for and we’re happy to finally add. And for those looking to spice up their look, we’ve added an item tinter that lets players use crafting materials to change the color of armor.

Item_Tinter.jpg

There are a number of other changes and improvements in the patch, and we’ll provide our beta community with a full list so they can better understand what’s going on in their game.

You’ll be able to sign up for the beta program through the Keep in the near future, so stay tuned for more information.

Please note that due to the nature of our patch infrastructure, the beta program is currently open to selected PC users only. Unfortunately we don’t have any information on this or other upcoming patches to our broader PC player community or other platforms at this time.

Thank you for your patience and we look forward to sharing these improvements with you in the near future.

Note: A previous version of this post incorrectly stated that rebinding mouse buttons would be available in the patch 5 beta. Unfortunately we were not able to get this feature into the beta, but are working on it for the future. We’re sorry for any confusion this may have caused

so I'm only about 10 hours in, and I've rolled a qunari mage... But I'm devastated!!!

I can't wear pimp hats. Instead I have to waltz around looking like a KISS fan stumbling home.

:'(

I gave Blackwall a pretty hat with a flower on it. I guess those are the pimp hats? Actually, it looked like it belonged on my grandma. I laughed every time I looked at him. Big tough Warden with his pretty hat.

I think I might have to start my second playthrough soon. This time I think I will be a Mage.

This is one of the best games I have ever played...... I truly love it and can't wait for DLC.... But it has nothing on story when it comes to KOTOR.....which to me has the best ending ever......on my site play through.
Btw...I haven't read through this entire thread yet but the guys on this page if you should be killing dragons as you level up as they drop the best gear. The last dragon fight is harder than anything the story has to offer.

Added an Option to increase the maximum zoom level when using the Tactical Camera.

I saw an update to the game download on my PS4 yesterday. Not sure what that was about.

My party almost entirely consisted of Cole, Vivienne and Bull for the games entirety. I really wished I mixed it more for the game, but I just adored their dialogue!

I think I'm going to play through as a rogue after I finish MCC. I kinda feel like playing as a knight enchanter was wayyyyy too over powers though.

I want to play as a pure dps. Any recommendations for two hand or bow?

would anyone be willing to start a multiplayer game with me?

Laidlaw on the SP DLC. Nothing concrete, but I haven't heard anything else, so...

-- quoting Eurogamer interview --

"I wouldn't say it's a conscious decision [to not talk about Inquisition's DLC] so much as us making sure anything we're working on is locked down before we talk about it," Laidlaw reasons. "I don't have anything official to announce but I'd say you won't have to wait too much longer."

And BioWare is well aware of what its fans want: a mix of more game areas and a healthy dose of new story - especially something that can expand upon Inquisition's post-game stinger.

"The two big pulls are - 'I want more of this game' and 'I've reached the ending and I want to know more about the characters, or one specific character'," Laidlaw says. "I don't want to go into too much detail but I'm well aware of both of those camps and I'd like to see both of those groups satisfied before we're done."

We won't spoil the post-credits scene here, but it sounds like BioWare is planning on telling at least a little more of that story sooner, rather than later.

"I think there's a desire for pursuing that a little further but it doesn't have to end that discussion. It's a bit of tightrope, and one that I can't possibly discuss - biggest spoilers in the universe! [But] it's something we're very cognisant of."

He also talks about the sidequest issue and some other stuff.

From Eurogamer, first hints as to the upcoming singleplayer DLC:

http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2...s-of-dragon-age-inquisition-single-player-dlc

"The untitled expansion has yet to be announced by BioWare, but the achievement images and descriptions hint at what the add-on will include."

Spoilers below.

The first award, Firestarter (15G), is awarded for destroying all Winter Shards and lighting all fires in a new location, the "Old Temple".

jpg

The next, Legend-Marked (30G), is awarded when you impress the Avvar tribe of Stone-Bear Hold and gain their friendship. The human Avvar have already made an appearance in Inquisition, although their influence was fairly minor.

Players were previously asked to impress a Dalish clan in what may be a similar fashion - via completing side-quests and missions to rank up influence.

The third award, Historian (30G), hints at you uncovering secrets of a "legendary figure". An elf is shown in the imagery.

And the final award, Winter's End (90G), is awarded when you "dispel a myth of ancient days".

Goddamn it,I want a dragon for the Inquisition. If only to have it park in front as a sign to other nations not to f*ck with us.

Also,I would pay good money for a DLC that let's you change the architecture of Skyterfell.

My money is ready! I even save 1 area so I can paly with the DLC. Buit no rush. I have less time than gametime now.

That's a surprise. I wonder how long the PS4 version will be. A few months, I'm guessing.

Apparently, it's available on Xbox One right now. $15.

Here's the description: "Discover the fate of the last Inquisitor and the powerful dragon he hunted. Enter an overgrown wilderness filled with Avvar, fiercely independent hunters who settled in the southern mountains of Thedas. Explore their culture to uncover what happened to the last Inquisitor and the dragon he pursued. Find an ancient Tevinter fortress that hides a dangerous secret. In this new adventure, playable within the Dragon Age: Inquisition campaign, you will face powerful foes, gain legendary armor and weapons, and confront an ancient god of war bent on destroying the world.

Features:
• Uncover a lost chapter in the history of the Inquisition and discover the ultimate fate of the last Inquisitor
• Explore a vast, new area in Thedas with lush forests and mountainous terrain
• Earn the respect of Avvar warriors while destroying an ancient cult
• Strengthen the Inquisition through new operations unlocked by your discoveries."

PC DLC is not available yet unfortunately. Though I wonder what made them abruptly announce and release the DLC like this?
