Well.... That's actual free speech though lol, the right to speak "s***" from ones point of view but not from others.
That's long post saying what I basically said, relax amerikan. It actually isn't. Free speech is about being able to speak and not have your government restrict you. I can be critical of any of our elected officials in any forum and not have police/military show up on my door. In Russia, if you were to write an article criticizing the war or even marched with a protest sign, you'd be jailed or worse.
Even free speech is limited to dangerous speech (yelling "fire" in a croweded place that would cause a panic) or things that fall under libel/slander. Most people who scream "free speech" are angry because of the consequences of their free speech. It is usually someone else's free speech that they object to.
Trump told people on Jan 6th to "march on the capitol" and people died because of it. This isn't protected speech, but a crime.
Free speech does not apply to publicly owned social media sites or any other site.
From a guy living in a country where money decides who can run for the presidency lolPeople that don't like billionaires deciding what they can or cannot say are oddly excited about the idea of a billionaire deciding what they can or cannot say
I got an 8 hour ban for what I posted on Twitter. I was responding to an article where a woman punched another woman who was coaching a kids game, because the woman didn't like the coaches telling her to stop screaming in the stands. She was arrested. I commented on the article saying her punishment should be that she get punched in the face from the coach. The 8 hour account ban was instant, so I assume it was flagged by violence by the word punch the woman in the face.Twitter already has free speech
Problem is what is free speech here and who should determine it? Can I call you the N word? Our free speech means I can so shouldn't I on twitter too? Can I encourage people to overthrow the government?I got an 8 hour ban for what I posted on Twitter. That isn't free speech IMO.
