Far Cry 4: Official Thread

Whenever i hear an eagle I just crouch on the ground while looking up spinning around.

I just ignore it or else take off sprinting (I like that sprint forever perk). Stupid eagles. Earlier in the thread, someone compared them to cliff racers. I agree.

I haven't really had issues with honey badgers, but eagles are the absolute worst critters in the game.

They're just small and move fast. Hard for me to kill them. Usually I just run, jump off a cliff, and use the wing suit to get to safety.

I have a solution to all your problems, but I dare not speak it's name!

Honey badgers kick my ass too.

That's a funny picture. A honey badger approaches, and Zack runs to a cliff and jumps off.

Honey badgers are the worst. Bleeping bullet sponges.

I've noticed the eagles rarely bother me if I'm sprinting.

You can one shot rhinos with the elephant gun if you hit them in the head. Same with bears.

I have to admit, I'm getting a little Far Cry fatigue. I opened up the North recently. When I looked at all of the landscape covered in clouds, I felt sort of deflated. I thought to myself, "Here we go with more bell towers, more outposts, more of all the same stuff I did in the South..." I know the enemies will be a little tougher in the North, but it's pretty much the same setup. I have already unlocked nearly every perk there is and 90% of the weapons.

So my motivation to continue playing isn't all that strong anymore. The moment-to-moment gameplay is still entertaining enough to keep me going, though.

So... Destiny?

I just did the mission where you and it was intense!

The towers and outposts do get repetitive though. Once you get more weapons, the combat isn't really that difficult.

Nah, I got back into the spirit of things, after posting. The setups are pretty much the same, but I'm trying out different weapons combos and approaches. I'm also enjoying doing the Kryat Fashion Week quests and maxing out my loot and ammo bags, etc.

I did almost all that I could in the South before unlocking the North. Kinda bummed I did...

Yeah, it may be better to progress the main story quicker than I did. By the time I unlocked the North, I had gotten nearly all the goodies, so the North seemed like an anticlimax. I have a bunch of XP points piling up that I have no use for. I just put them into duration boosts for syringes. I've topped out my Karma. I feel overpowered (which actually I like).

Once you get a good sniper rifle, taking outposts is pretty easy.

There's a lot of injecting going on in this game. I feel like I'm constantly shooting up, and every few days, someone else will stick me with a needle and inject something. I wonder if Ubisoft is a bunch of IV drug addicts.

We had that recent article and discussion about game length. It is funny but I think some games can actually be a little too long. I hit the wall with Dragon Age about 3/4 through. I go to a new location and see the map and have to once again go through the same stuff.

I'm just starting into the north now and I see all those towers and outposts and my urge to play this game is definitely stalling.

I hate to take a break from the game because my will to go back will be low (not sure when/if I finish DAI).

It doesn't help that my last 3 games have all been longer - Forza Horizon 2, DAI and FC4. I've got two games installed that I have not even started yet, and almost enough money in my Xbox account to buy 2 more. I've got a worse backlog in 1.5 years this gen than I did after 5+ on last gen.

Yup, seeing the North is making me lose ambition, plus it doesn't help I have 99% of the weapons unlocked, almost all of the ability upgrades (wish there were new ones for the North) and all the hunting upgrades in the South.

I'm feeling ya on this gen's backlog, as big as my backlog from last gen already...

Yeah, I agree with that. That was how I felt, too, when I got to the North. However, it seems to be going a lot quicker this time, and it's still fun. I initially felt deflated seeing everything that I still had to do, but once I got into it, I enjoyed it. I've only got a handful of towers and outposts left, at this point, and I think one main mission.

Are there less main missions in the North?

I am just going to clear the map, take the outposts, do the side-quests, and then just burn through the Story missions.

I'm not sure. I know I'm not fooling around with all the side stuff anymore -- looking for loot, doing karma quests, doing the misc. quests, exploring the countryside, hunting, etc. Like Frozpot said, I'm just focusing on the main missions, the bell towers, and the outposts. I think that's what is making things go faster. I'm just not as distracted by all the side activities.

Although, there may be fewer activities in the North overall. That's possible.

Most definitely, I'm done with all the misc. side crap, did that to death in the South. It's kinda too bad that you can lvl almost to the max in most aspects in the South, gives little reason to do all the same crisp again in the North :(

I don't know why, but Ever since Assassin's Creed 3, I've got this tendency towards completionism. I think I got 99% in AC3 and Black Flag. I did it in Far Cry 3 as well.

I will likely do it in FC4. Every. Single. Icon.
