Football/Soccer Video Games Discussion

I do not like what they've done to crossing. Crosses were too easy in Fifa 14 so to fix that they've made them horrific in 15. Players with 90+ crossing cannot hit anybody in the box 90% of the time. It results in a lot of wasted chances and it's frustrating.

Career mode is fun though, it doesn't feel like I'm playing Barcelona every game now with teams being more direct and quicker and playing a bit more like how they play in real life. They get more adventurous or defensive too depending on how the game is going which is cool. But I would have liked to have seen some additions and improvements to the mode, outside of the matches it's almost the same as Fifa 14 with just a couple of differences.

EA sports games aren't the most demanding of titles, I wouldn't expect to see any difference here.

I know when they show the players up close it looks pretty ugly, the character models look like they are ceramic and lighting looks really artificial.

I don't think i like this years fifa will give it some more time.and stuff like this don't help

Not sure what your issue is here ? to me it looks like your defender pulls him back right on the edge of the box. Should have got a red card.

Let's hope so. Now with more and more games being nearly identical as the generation has gone on, it's nice to see things like this more frequent. But yes, fix dat bug.

No, still an objective 450gflop hardware gap that wont ever change. Still one console has factually +6 Compute units, +390 shaders, +16 ROPs, +6 ACEs/CQs and a main memory pool which is twice as fast as the other console. These are hardware facts of life. Anyone who has ever upgraded or bought a GPU for their PC knows this shows a real gap, yet here we are.

Still a factual software gap in new and upcoming games by various developers:

Etc.

I'm happy for you that Microsoft sent its engineers to Bungie to get a Destiny bump to 1080p, however.

It's the other football game by Konami on the Fox Engine, PES 2015, which seems to have the bigger differences between versions.

I have heard a lot of chatter about differing resolutions between platforms from the demo.

You are correct.

Hold on....motion blur is something good? Cause i played the demo on X1 and i hated that motion blur, i thought it was terrible. I am not a big footy fan, but i got the full game with my console, it was in the bundle and it was good to not see any blur anymore. Why...exactly is this blur good?

Motion blur smooth movement between frame. Its a natural occurrence in film & photos.

Movies run at 24, then why do we not notice frame rate issue when the action get thick. The answer is motion blur.

However, I do not know a game that runs at 60fps requited motion blur. In any case, its a post process, like all post process, will took away some performance (how much is unclear)

Facial detail is a big improvement from last years.
Depends where you loom at. I see the new MLS crest but only a hand full of players are scanned and still no stadium s. MLS have state of the art facilities.

IDK but I do know the commentators do talk about the MLS a lot so that is a plus.

Maybe soon?

Game is good.

Free kicks are so much better this year. No need for driven shots all the time.

Yeah honestly I can't remember the last time I ever scored on one (or course in most previous games fouls were rarely called anyway). I can't remember ever getting a free kick in a dangerous area like that. When they were called it was always at some harmless spot like midfield.

I got plenty in dangerous areas in 14 on PC (not that you are wrong, refs are a bit fairer in 15), but it mattered little since driven shots were by far the best way to score them. So having them so close was kind of pointless. In 15 seasons in FIFA 14 I think I scored about 2 non-driven free kicks.

It isn't good. It is a cover-up in games for bad framerates. I don't even know where motion blur would even come into play in a game like Fifa. Even the hardest shot in the world shouldn't cause motion blur in a video game. The PS fanboys at DF just seem to have nothing better to do apparently.

That is what I thought. Motion Blur is usually in 30FPS games. Seems a little strange to have it in a 60FPS game.

Or the fact that it's PS4 vs Xbox One ;)

That's what one would assume but I wouldn't say that considering games like Strider looked better on the Xbox One. All gens have had (a few) examples of games looking better on the less powerful system.

How are DF suddenly PS fanboys. Is it because the Xbox one has yet to win a single face off? Not DF's fault--these are just objective technical comparisons.

DF ignored the fact that Madden was better on X1 (and I admitted this was just bugs from EA). They don't compare many games. They pick their spots to blast on X1.

Launch titles on X1 had some significant differences, but since then? The differences are basically stuff that 99% of users would never even notice. To call it nitpicking would be an understatement.

DF ignored the Madden cross platform comparisons. The person that did address them was dismissed as a "nobody" (nevermind that he has been part of the sports gaming community for eons).

Yeah last gen the Xbox 360 won just about every face off and rightfully so, this time the PS4 seems to be winning pretty much all of them and again rightfully so. Why do people whine about it? the X1 is a weaker console and even if 3rd parties aren't really going to push the PS4 to use the extra power it still stands to reason that the stronger console will get the better (on a technical level) multiplats. People who use terms like "DF just does it to blast the Xbox One" need a reality check btw, I have yet to see DF blast anyone. If anything they go out of their way to downplay the significance of any advantages the PS4 games have.

Very true... except not.

When did DF ever address the differences in Madden 15? Maybe they just forgot or were too busy.

DF have a major pro PS agenda and are using it to get more clicks. The differences in these sports games are silly stupid.
