DF didnt do an objective comparison of Madden, so there was no fact Madden was better on X1, so there was nothing to ignore. Are you seriously talking about that one guy who tweeted a screenshot of the sun above the stadium on the X1 version and then the sun below the stadium on the PS4 version, and then made the claim the lighting is better? Seriously man? His claim was laughed at. Everyone who owns both versions on Operationsports and GAF says there is no difference and the "pasta padre" lighting comparison is a complete joke. Notice how not a single person or site has corroborated it?

Launch titles on X1 had some significant differences, but since then? The differences are basically stuff that 99% of users would never even notice. To call it nitpicking would be an understatement.

At launch you had many including all the sports games at parity, a lot of games running at 1080p on PS4 and 900p on X1, and one game running at double the resolution on PS4 (COD), and some scattered stuff in between.

Now you have many including sports games at parity, many games running at 1080p on PS4 and 900p on X1, and two new games instead of one running at double the resolution on PS4 (Golf Club and PES15), with some scattered stuff in between. What exactly has changed?

It was a face off and it's a game that's on both systems (a pretty solid game at that).

Love the moving of goal posts. So downloadable games don't matter in this instance but they matter in metacritic list wars right (i.e.: what you brought up in the previous sales thread)? Heh, okay.

Many AAA action games on the Xbox One are at least reaching 900p in comparison to how things were during the system's launch (i.e.: Call of Duty and Battlefield being 720p -- seems like the new Call of Duty will at least be 900p and that's with it being made with current gen in mind unlike Ghosts). So there has definitely been improvement.

Overall, the majority of games on both systems are 1080p but the PS4 has more. I believe around 75% of the games on the Xbox One are 1080p vs. around 95% for the PS4.

So let me get this straight. So because Eurogamer didn't do a face off of Madden NFL Football, which is historically a game they ignore anyways because they are in Europe (Europeans hate american football), instead of looking at history and seeing that they usually ignore the game for face offs, you believe instead that they are purposely ignoring the game because they are full of PS fanboys and "pasta padre" posted some pictures of the sun in different positions so that must mean the X1 version is better. Am I right?

Didn't say it doesn't count. But using a platform game as an example of winning a face off is a bit rich don't you think? And you didn't say Strider you said "games like Strider" like there are others. No man. It's just Strider.

Point is nothing's changed. Still most new release games are pushing about 40% more pixels on the PS4 as shown by that chart, like at launch. EA sports games among others are at parity, like at launch. And instead of one game running at double the resolution on PS4 (COD), we now have three going on four.

How do I put this simply enough for you:

YES

I get that Fifa is much, much bigger worldwide and that "American" football is not. Hey, I not only get it but I agree, American football tends to be boring. I'd rather watch two top Euro soccer clubs square off.

That still does nothing to explain why "legitimate" sites ignore Madden. The game still has big sales and is huge here in he US. Had Madden 15 been better looking on PS4 DF would have been all over it.

DF is part of Eurogamer, I doubt they spend a lot of time playing madden in much of Europe. Secondly that lighting difference has been shown to be false on several forums. They aren't showing the same time of day, the sun isn't even in the same spot when compared to the HUD, you can even see that in the link you provided. The sun is raised and to the left in the X1 picture and directly to the left of the HUD in the PS4 picture, the clouds are also different so again it's not exactly the same. Madden is not better on Xbox One.

Wasn't DF is a sub of Eurogamers which catered to Europeans , & why would they compare a game that wasn't popular in Europe, & their fanbase are unlikely to buy?

This post here makes you sound like nothing more than a fanboy who needs his diaper changed, you are literally throwing a fit over something that doesn't even matter. You are trying your hardest to find a way to make the Xbox One a victim of some conspiracy here because a European site didn't do a head to head with a game that mainly just appeals to Americans. You need to grow up, you've already said that DF saying the PS4 has a slight edge in some areas in 3rd party games is them "blasting the Xbox One" I don't think you could have more of a victim complex if you tried.

Wasn't Thief stated to look better on the Xbox One too (at least at launch)? Either way, my point as a whole still stands -- there was a time in which the system actually won a "battle"; That was my main point.

How can you say nothing changed if sequels to games are higher in resolution? Your post is ironic in the sense that you are bringing up the "40% pixel" differences between PS4 and Xbox One versions of games but yet say "nothing changed" even though more AAA action games are going away from being 720p on the Xbox One. It doesn't make sense.

On top of that, IGN's chart doesn't include many games that are on both systems anyway. As I said in my previous post, the majority of games on both systems are 1080p -- more so on the PS4 obviously.

So that still negates the fact that the next COD will more than likely be 900p on the Xbox One even though it's doing more than its 720p predecessor? "Nothing's changed" simply because there are completely different games of different genres that are 720p? Really?

I'm tired of these discussions; really bringing down these forums -- too many good games coming to both consoles. I'm all for debates but there's way too many consoles wars going on right now here with constant goal post moving and irony.

I think I already adressed this.. but no. I already admitted that Fifa is bigger worldwide, but that doesn't make Madden some "niche" game. It has massive sales.

Sorry if you don't think Pasta Padre is a legit source, but he's been a big time player in the sports gaming community. He spends his own money to buy 2 game consonles and games on both.

I actually played both versions and know the non legit comparisons are BS.

Did you actually read the comparison that guy did? He said he thinks that lens flare thing is a bug because sometimes it pops up in the PS4 version and sometimes it doesn't. He also said up close the PS4 version looks slightly better. Were you around at all last gen? the 360 won nearly every head to head that DF conducted, there is no bias against xbox there.

As far as Madden being "niche" nobody said that but Eurogamer is not an American site so they aren't going to put the time and resources into doing a head to head with a game that doesn't appeal to most of their core audience. It may sell millions of copies but that's in the US not globally and if you check their site they have NEVER done a head to head for Madden before so no they aren't trying to cheat the Xbox One by not doing one because of some non existent advantage you think that version of the game has.

Yeah the PS4 version uses lensflare as well.

Same setting. Shadow of players show that. If there were clouds in the way as you say there would be no shadows. Why it's like that on the PS4, dunno.

If you haven't seen he constantly move the goal posts you won't. Downloadable platform games only count when he uses it for total game counts or when he claims the PS4 has higher rated games. No send in trying to debate or argue with him. It would be best to ignore him if it's annoying.

I didn't say they were in the way I said they were different, also the sun is in a different position but that's not really important. The guy said that the lens flare shows up sometimes and other times it doesn't and the only time you ever see that on either platform is when you pull the camera back. He thinks it's a bug.

Don't know about a bug but the sun is in the same position. The shadows show that. If the day was at a different time the shadows would be in a different position, they're not. Sun is at about 11 o'clock in both hence the southeast pointing shadows.

Look at where the sun is relative to the HUD, it's above and to the left on the X1 but directly to the left on the PS4, that's what I'm talking about. It's in the same general area but not the exact same spot. At the end of the day that's not an advantage or disadvantage though that's an effect that pops in and out on the PS4 likely due to a bug it doesn't make the X1 version of the game better which is what he was saying.
 
I'm scoring a lot of free kicks too. I've always just held up on the left stick and used the correct amount of power and had success for years now but I'm finding them way easier in Fifa 15. Perhaps too easy though, a keeper scored one past my team in Pro Clubs earlier today.
