Football/Soccer Video Games Discussion

Looks like am not going to bother with FUT Champions this weekend. The servers are just horrible right now. One game is perfect and then the next is a horrible sluggish game where passes or actions have to be done a second before you need them to be done.

How EA are still this bad with servers after 20+ years of using them is beyond me.

A Movember card...cool. Any stat boost with it? Is it tradeable?

I couldn't have been more wrong about David Silva btw...he is a really good dribbler and makes some nasty through ball passes to lead players. Went on a tear last night and went 9-0-1 in my single player league. Also...if you're looking for a really really good value in the EPL pick up Ahmed Musa and then get the chemistry style Deadeye for him to improve his passing and shooting. He has 93 pace, 82 dribbling and 72 shooting...really good sub off the bench about 3/4 way through the game...he gets a ton of break away opportunities on through balls.

Only one stat gets a boost. So as an upgrade they are pretty meh. But it is trade-able, last I checked it was going for 25K.

Everybody and their cat uses Musa. I ain't going nowhere near him. I'll stick with my awesome Lukaku.

Ouch...Lukaku is going for 31,000+ and he's an 84.....I have Kane 84 and Giroud 83 up front. Giroud is cheap right now....around 1700 lowest Buy It Now and Kane is around 5,800 Buy it now. Much more value for the money there. I'm still trying to save up my money for Cech 88 whose going for close to 30K as well. I had 29K in the bank this morning and have been working on making more on the transfer market but I may have screwed myself by bidding on a few Elneny's at too high a price...and one auction I didn't realize wasn't going to be over a whole day...now I got almost 5K tied up in him.

Tried both those. Neither come close to Lukaku quality IMO.

I just bought a new In form Stiker called Kalinic. Was only 12K and he seems good thus far.

I had 100K this morning but spent 30K on a new team today.
 
How're you racking up that much coin? I've burned through all my coin boosts at this point. You get between 400-500 coins power single player season game... What type of games do you play?

I have been playing FUT champions. The 3 weeks there earned me about 30K coins. The rest has come from selling players from packs earned either through FUT Champions or doing SBCs. Like I packed that Bellerin and sold him for 15k. I also packed Kante who went for 35K. Plus a few others that went for 900 - 1200.

Are FUT Championships only on the weekends? I don't get to play much on the weekends. Are FUT Championships online or single player games?

Weekends only and online only. Originally it started Saturday monring and ended Sunday night, but they recently changed it and now it starts Friday 7PM GMT and ends Monday sometime.

It is worth entering anyway. Even if you just play 5 games you will get 1000 coins and a gold pack. Win like 8 games and you get 10,000 coins and 3 packs.

I think I played a total of 2 online FUT games. The first was a great game which I won 2-1. The second I was losing 4-0 and I quit about 3/4 of the way through the game because I was getting so frustrated. Wish there was a matchmaking which could pit me against people of equal skill.
 
Aguero is a beast, nice pack...

I've been taking the minor upgrade approach at this point after finally getting enough coin together to get myself Cazorla...I'm a little stacked at the CAM positions. Still focusing on EPL players

I have an untradeable Mario Gaspar special card..its like Blue/Purple...he's ranked 81 but his stats are pumped up. Never use it though because it would mess with my team chemistry because he doesn't play in the EPL. At this point I have so many players some people aren't cracking the rotation. I'm happy with my midfield..had a hat trick last night with Cazorla...he's got a nice left foot shot from the top of the penalty box. I really need to land myself a good striker though...Kane and Giroud are decent shooters but really lack the pace to get break away goals.

The lowest rated player I used has to be Bellerin....I love the way he overlaps on the right wing and he's got enough pace to get back as well.

I'm going to start playing the daily tournaments a bit more...I still don't get much of a chance to get on and play on the weekends which kind of sucks. After playing FUT I don't think I can go online to Pro Clubs any more. I just get too frustrated with all the ball hogging and terrible calls for passes by teammates from the AI.

I still love blasting some long range shots with Xhaka
 
Kind of wanted a change of pace last night so I started a new career mode. Am going to take Portsmouth back to Premier League from League 2.

Obviously I have little money, started with like 1.2 million, so I had to dspend ages trying to find decent looking young players to bring in for very little money, but I did find two such players

ST - Bradford Jamieson from La Galaxy. Cost a mere 600K
CB - Cameron Humphreys-Grant from Man City. Cost a mere 700K.

I had a look this morning after I bought them last night and seems both have a potential of 80/81.

Gunna try and strengthen the team via the youth system as much as possible as the season progresses.

Some players I like that are not in your teams.

CM - Herrera: He just feels right to me.
LB - Shaw: Best LB in the game IMO.
RB - Valenica: For me, he is better than Belerin.
ST - Lukaku: Absolute beast. 75 games player with 57 goals and 23 assists.
ST - Remy: Without a doubt a quality cheap striker option that can do it all.
GK - Butland: Bet he gives your Cech a run for his money.
RM - Sissoko: What he lacks in pace he makes up for in strength.
RM: Shaqiri: Well, it's Shaqiri. Nuff said.

I've looked into Lukaku and he costs a ton still...would probably just save up the extra 10K to get Costa. Remy I have...bought him yesterday.
I stayed up way to late last night drinking whiskey and playing FUT qualifying tournaments. Made it to the semis twice...was initially getting matched up with teams much worse than mine. Eventually started getting matched with teams that were more even. My last match was super frustrating...I was a man up almost the entire match and couldn't score...went to penalty kicks. My team was so gassed that my players f***ing blasted their shots way wide...and, I guessed right on two of the penalties and the keeper still didn't stop the ball.

I bought Lukaku when he was 40K. Well worth the money IMO. Better than Costa too, cause he can do everything Costa does but has more pace.
 
I just watched a Lukaku auction go for a shade under 27K...I have about 5,000 right now..will probably look to buy him by the end of the week. Definitely need to upgrade at the ST position...
 
I think I got banned from trading and buying this morning...I have been on trading all morning and made a ton of cash. Was buying Girouds and Xabi's for 700-100 and selling them for between 1500 and 1700. I was making a ton off each trade and they were selling quickly because I was undercutting the lowest buy it now by 100. I must have doubles my money in an hour this morning. Started the morning with 14,000 and now have 31,000. But, now I can't buy anything at all...it keeps telling me I am outbid. I wonder if they do some sort of analytics to watch for people using bots and think I was somehow gaming the system because I made so many trades in the last two hours. Sucks...I wanted to keep going all day and continue making a ton of loot.
 
The Great Giroud goldrush of 2016 continues....I've bought and sold a bunch of them today...its been crazy....made tens of thousands of credits. Started the day with 4,000 credits...wound up making enough to buy Lukaku and Cesc Fabregas and still have 8,000 to spare. Insane day of trading.
 
Wound up turning that 8,000 credits into 24,000 by the end of the day...sold Bellerin for 11,000 credits and bought myself Diego Costa

Yeah, the trading has gone been mental as of late. I am selling players for double there worth, or even more. I mean I bought Quaresma 4 days a go for 900 and just sold him for 3800 :surprise:

Try and get Valencia at RB. I have been loving him, and he is far better than those you currently have. Then pick up Kante for Midfield.

Did you wind up selling your players? I might sell all my higher end players tonight when I'm done playing because I've heard, in years prior, there is usually a crash in prices around Black Friday/Cyber Monday on major players due to deals being offered on FIFA which include packs. I figure I'll sell my top tier players now in the hopes of picking them up again at a cheaper price on Friday or Monday. I'm going to be away on vacation this weekend so I won't be playing any FIFA anyways.

Crash started a while ago, but prices are still going down.

I did sell all my players. I ended up with 240K. So, I built this awesome team...

Yeah, I made the decision to sell it all today and not wait until tonight.....I actually have been pricing my stuff a few hundred or a few thousand above the lowest buy it now price and a lot it is still going....made one big mistake...sold a Debuchy with an Anchor chemistry for 1500...the chemistry alone was worth almost that much. Its crazy how much both the Hunter and Anchor chemistry styles go for.

LW/RW cards of LM/RM players often go for much higher price too. I sold a 76 rated RW Embolo for 2100...the normal RM card goes for around 800.
