I don't think the general populace is getting off of MSs neck this gen regardless of what they do. I listened to a few general gaming podcasts the past few days. Here was the consensus:

- "What stuck out at MS's conference? Nothing really. Nothing that changes my mind about them or makes me think they'll gain on Sony."
- "it's the same stuff we always see from Microsoft."
- Crackdown looks terrible. Everyone I talked to that saw the demo had bad things to say about it.
- Quantum Break is "just another Microsoft shooter".

The same guys then went on to talk about how they're excited for these exclusive Sony games I never heard of.

Sony basically won the show without a press conference. Either us Xbox gamers think crap tastes good or the general gaming media truly is biased. It's one of the other because there's a big disconnect between Xbox gamers and everyone else.

Then you look at the list of games that the overall gaming media voted for and realize these guys weren't alone. None of MSs exclusives excited them. I have to be honest. I was shocked. I thought this was MSs best gaming show performance ever.

And TLoU and Uncharted sold as well as Gears franchise? Link?

Well I am not sure of exact numbers and I am feeling lazy with the google fu but when they bought Gears last year they said the franchise sold 22 million units and that includes judgment and also Gears 1 PC. TLOU sold 7 million just on the PS3 in the first year. Uncharted sold 4.8 6.5 and 6.6. So overall you are talking very similar numbers. I would imagine Gears sold in the slightly over 6 million area for the trilogy with a much smaller amount for Judgment.

People voting for Multiplatform games doesn't mean they thought X1 exclusives were terrible.

They never had the mascot like they did. Never seemed to matter though. Still doesn't.

Seems questionable.

Its not a mascot, its a face recognizable by the world. The only way that happens is if the series is actually popular enough for it to happen.

You're forgetting that this Crackdown will be Xbox Ones first major release of the Cloud used at this magnitude. It'll Crack 1 million. If not more...
I am aware of that..I am pointing out the series isn't that popular because it isn't going by review scores and as de3d1 likes to put it...SALES.
Before you take these truths as disses I think it will sell OVER a million( just maybe not as fast as you claim) I want it,the tech alone has me looking 4ward to it.

Gamers are sheep. Herd mentality is strong.

By time we're near release, MS Will have made sure the world knows about it. Not to mention the game will look and perform much better by that time. They'll capitalize on this because Crackdown will be a milestone in Xbox Ones arsenal, and will surely begin a major shift. Its the one thing that will make people forget all about 1080p games. It's coming...

Just my personal opinion, but I expect MS to announce another Cloud game by next E3.

What has ps4 won that wasn't on other platforms? Even then, it doesn't have a top tier popular brand yet.
Most exclusive games that won GOTY awards last gen were on the PS3 followed by the Wii with the 360 exclusives being almost non existed...PS4 games NOT ON XBOX ONE are rated higher then games not on the ps4. Bloodborne will win at the least a handful of GOTY awards. Don't need a crystal ball just actual experience with the game and reading through countless of threads and reviews praising the game to see this happening. Don't see a Xbox One EXCLUSIVE game outscoring it or getting more GOTY awards(in 2015). PLUS more PS4 games NOT ON XBOX ONE came out and are coming which could also outscore games just on XBO.

Agreed. Gamescon put me a bit behind schedule on latest work. I didn't expect it to be as good as it was. Now it's crunch time. Lol

They don't need to as the PS4 versions of SW BF and COD BO3 will outsell, have more online players and maybe outscore H5.

Sony has been chasing that shooter though. Maybe they have given up as you mention and be content with AAA multiplat shooters instead. It does seem weird though with all the success they have had internally with in other game spaces and Halo having a mark of its back for what close to 15 years they haven't made a dent really in that space.

I hope H5 is good as it looked @ E3 but am very skeptical

Everything about it looks like AAA flagship title as it should be. It might not be the cultural touchstone 2 was but it wouldn't surprise me if its the best Halo ever.

Oh well. Hold onto to your review scores, sales numbers, and game media support. I've been gaming since Atari. If all the stuff that MS has lined up comes out, this looks like the most exciting stretch on one platform since 3D graphics first hit their stride.

I don't really believe that review scores are driving the platforms. If they were, all those highly rated Indies would also be selling. I believe it's the other way around. All those sales are driving review scores. 360 had some over-rated games when it's sales were booming. Now it's the other way around.

Warzone might be good but the single player will be criticized heavily, I can feel it. The game is less than three months away and we've seen nothing from single player that's getting people excited.

Oh, and the reason I tire of MS in the form of one simple GIF

I believe Halo 5 may end up being the lowest scoring Halo of any that featured MC...but will have the most lasting base in over a decade.

I was a 343 hater. Was not a fan of Halo 4 and it took me a long time to come around on the new moves that on surface, look like they were ripped from COD. But after finally giving the beta a chance and seeing how they've tied everything into gameplay in both single player and multiplayer, it's the most excited I've been pre-release of a Halo since I was standing in line for Halo 2's midnight release over a decade ago.

H4 hurt the franchise. H5 seems to be doing many things better.
Wanna try Warzone

How would you know if they deserve the reviews if you haven't played them?
