Ghost Recon: Wildlands

I ended up buying it today.

This has to be most detailed and believable world I've seen in any game so far. The way the world is laid out and how the different environments flow from one to the other is really great. Sure, the random NPC's could have more interactions with the player, but they're better than expected so far.

I'm playing on the Pro and already encountered several bugs even with the 1.02 update installed. I opened a supply crate and the game froze everything except being able to move the camera. Upon restarting the game, the entire screen was bleached out, even in the system menus. I had to disable HDR to fix it. Now the cover system no longer works. It won't snap to any cover at all. I haven't restarted the game to see if that can fix it yet.

I'm not having any real issues with the AI so far. The car controls and handling work well enough and are better than I expected. The helicopters are actually annoying. I haven't tried the planes or boats yet. I'm hoping they will fix many of the minor issues with the game and turn this into the must own game that it could/should be.

I'm glad I ignored the reviews and the 100's of pages negativity posted about the betas on the Ubi forum. Even with all of the bugs and technical issues, this is the game I've always dreamed of playing. A big part of it is the environments and how well the landscape is laid out. It mixes all of my favorite aspects of Far Cry and MGS V into one.

If they can patch up the issues, this might be my favorite game of all time.

Yeah it's a great game dude. I'm on Xbox and it looks great so I can only imagine how awesome it is on the Pro. If you can play it in coop. It's the best coop thing I've played in a long long time.

I've been really enjoying the game. It's not Ghost Recon, but I am having fun for sure on PS4.

Good to hear that Wildlands lived up to expectation. About time we got a solid Ghost Recon game. I can remember having fun with Advanced Warfighter early last gen with friends.

It's not really Ghost Recon to be honest. It has small elements of ghost recon but really it's more like a military version of a game based on Heists from GTA online.

I found the character movement very reminiscent of the original GR's, as well as the sound effects for the weapons. At least in the beta. I don't have the final game.

Played the beta and called it Ghost Theft Wildauto when I described it to a friend.

I shouldn't have come in here. Loved the past games but too much going on right now to add it to my plate. Glad you guys are enjoying it!

I'm probably the only one who's played nearly every game since 2001 that enjoys each new game more than the previous game. It's a completely different game than the originals for sure, but for some reason pretty much every aspect of the game (minus the bugs and control issues) is what I've always wanted to see in a game. I've probably played for 25+ hours and I've only taken out 2 of the bosses or whatever they're called. I don't even know what the story is about really. I'm usually sight seeing, collecting intel, finding skill points, or doing missions for the rebels.

I just can't get over how great the game is overall, despite the issues. I can fly around in the helicopter or drive around admiring the scenery from dawn till dusk endlessly. I can't imagine how good this would look on a high end PC.

Is the game a decent buy for solo play?

It's ok for solo play. The scale of it is real impressive. I mean you know it's big but then you see 30km square of a sand box and it's hard not to be impressed. I really enjoy playing it solo whe the guys aren't on but in co op, it's just excellent.

Well your team is an AI team by default, so playing alone and delegating your team makes it a good solo experience. Of course, having your AI replaced by friends is a better experience.

All I'm able to play is offline. No game breaking bugs so far, and the AI for me has been better than what I was reading about in the betas. Your squad doesn't always do what you tell them to, but they're more useful than not. I think the enemy AI is pretty good overall. I've encountered a couple of times where it took an enemy a few seconds longer to react to me than you'd expect, but it's been very good so far.

Game is on sale for 50% off, I've played the game extensively on PS4 but have moved onto the PC version. I need some PC friends. Steam ID is twevo7

I don't like GTA nor this ghost recons wanna be it... I heard about this game getting a pvp mode so i purchased it just 4 that mode with hopes of it playing like other GR's.
Oh well

I think anyone who has played this game would tell you that them adding a PvP mode would not all of a sudden make it like "other GR's"

I have accepted the game for what it is, I enjoy it. It's the first GR I have enjoyed since GRAW 1 and 2 but really my heart was with the OGR's, Island Thunder, Desert Siege etc.

Talk of them adding PvP was before the game released/i actually played it.

I think it's more akin to Far Cry 4 than the GTA games. It's FC with GR skin job, which isn't terrible. It's definitely more fun with friends.

What in the world did I just watch? So Sam Fisher's going to be in Wild Lands? How on earth is that going to work. I'm assuming its more if a skin than anything else and you just control a character who happens to look like Sam. That or Sam is going to be giving you orders?

Don't know.

One thing's for sure, if this is the what their giving us instead of a proper Splinter Cell game, I'll be super pissed.

What I got out of that is that Micheal Ironside is back as Sam Fisher. Now all they need to do is announce a new game at E3 and all will be right.

Sorry. Watched this at work on the can, so no audio. Looks like it is a big teaser for something and we'll get more.info on Monday.

Don't tease me like this Ubi. If we have Ironside back for a new splinter cell, I may have a full geek melt down..........until they reveal the actual game play and it's more of the actiony, boom, boom, of Conviction and Blacklist. I might have a different kind of meltdown.

I think they are getting ready to announce a new dlc or expansion for Wildlands that somehow involves the Splinter cell team, specifically Sam Fisher. But the big picture is the franchise hasn't been forgotten and Ironside is back. If they do announce a brand new Splinter Cell at E3 with Ironside in it, I will be right next to you having a full on fanboy meltdown.
