Hideo Kojima launches new studio and partners with Sony. PS4/PC targeted.

Smart move when Sony do it, dumb move when Microsoft do it #VallianceLogic

On the flip side, everyone who's a die hard Xbox fan seems to hate Kojima and his games because he's a PlayStation guy at heart and really didn't support Xbox until this gen. It's funny how people's true colors continue to show.

Nice. I imagine he's had a lot of creative juices blocked up because he's been stuck with the MGS franchise longer than he wished. I'm interested to see where he goes next. I hope it's a radical break and not just another iteration of stealth-based gameplay.
I want a Medieval themed game

I want an astronaut game with flying octopus. Just so that when it becomes a huge success, they can say "that's right! We're awesome at making great games out of craptastic ideas! Right, Konami?!"

Kojima's games are strange beasts to me. I'm absolutely fascinated with their presentation but have never really been pulled in by the gameplay.

Hopefully this new project rocks.

I just hope whatever it is that it's nothing like MGS.

Banking on a either 4 year (or more) wait for an triple A retail game or a small ass indie title. I'm going with the latter.

Bulls***. Straight bulls***. Maybe some Xbox fans just don't care for his content, as the plots are pretty elusive or masked with odd Twilight Zone fluff that make no sense. Or, perhaps the game play is too dated for this gen. It's perfectly okay not to be a fan of Kojima games with or without his games on Xbox. He's legendary as a developer but I just don't think his content strikes the same cords as they use to. I wish him all the best though.

You beyond care or else you would stay out of this thread.

His games are getting better and better so hes striking even more cords for us who are gamers.
Man made highest rated new game in 2015 and got dev of the year.

Yeah, i get it. But instead of just admitting the games aren't for them people have to trash Kojima's games as if the nearly flawless review scores aren't legit. I understand lots of Xbox fans only bought an Xbox to play shooters and racing games. Not many can get into an intricate story like Metal Gear Solid. Nothing wrong with that. Just pay respect where it's due.

Which game will sell better... the next Kojima game or Metal Gear Solid 6?

Just my opinion, but his last good MGS game was 3. Review scores aside, I don't think he brought that perfection design effort to anything games past that and it was hard for a bunch of remakes and rereleases and HD versions to sway the masses once he finally decided to take his show multiplatform. His efforts on Xbox so far are Ground Zeroes which they put a half assed effort into, which is damn near a demo anyways and The Phantom Pain and him constantly rereleasing titles. The Phantom Pain could've planted a decent seed, but now he is back to being exclusive to PS again... I can only see a scenario in 7 years where that cycle starts again.

That is his works as a multiplatform guy with his biggest franchise; so it's not wonder that the majority of his fans are on PlayStation.

I beyond care? Seriously? Do you know me to mince words? If I cared, I'd just say so. I gave my genuine opinion of the man's work. I'm not a fan. At all. His games are getting better, insinuates that I'm not the only one who thinks his later works were s***. That includes you. And please, spare me and lay off the sympathy award. Kojima and Konami are finished. Happens in business relationships all the time.

I gave him respect as a developer and his contributions to the gaming industry. I don't have to suddenly care for his games though. I don't. His games feel retro. Like you play them for nostalgia sake. Game development and design has grown beyond that of Metal Gear. He needs to update his style, creative content game wise etc, before I give him a nod. I just don't like his games. The guy himself is a legend.

MGS 5 does not feel retro in the slightest. Very much a game of the times.

For fans of that series, I guess that's true. Still, the Metal Gear franchise just seems like a ghost from gaming's past or an echo of it, with a legendary Dev behind it. Let's hope he does something fresh and new to bring to the masses. Snake should die a hero's death and Kojima himself should move on.

I don't even know why you're allowed to post on this forum. we all know your insane love for MS and this forum is for those who own multiple consoles or at least would think about getting more then one console. So for once TD is kind of right.

Well I think his mean issue was he was forced to keep making MGS games for years when he was wanting to get away from the series.

Oh no. TOPDOG is offend. YIKES! lol.

Get over it dude. It's my opinion. Again as soon as you go against the narrative, someone pitches a fit over it. Oh boy...

And if you read my post, I actually gave a positive and a negative about the topic. I'm in the zone.

TOPDAWG is never offend. I don't get anyone's insane love for a company or the plastic products they put out.

That doesn't make any sense. So you're basically knocking the MGS franchise for spanning 4 generations of gaming but you still give the nod to franchises like Halo, Forza, and Fable that have spanned 3 generations? So next gen they'll suddenly be s*** games too? I didn't know shooting aliens, driving in circles, or slaying goblins was any more exciting than what MGS offers.

Oh man. Xbox fans crack me up sometimes. Like.. you got one of the best games this gen on your platform. It's not even a PS exclusive anymore and it's more open world than the previous entries. First Xbox fans said they hated MGS games because they're like watching movies. Now MGS5 comes out and changes things up and it's still not good enough. What more do you want?

Is this "in love with plastic" comment just something people say when they can't really come up with a good response, so they project their own insecurities while attempting to sound "hip" onto others?

WTH said anything about Xbox in the first place? I spoke specifically about Kojima, Konami and MGS. Stay Focused.
