Round six of chemo tomorrow. PET scan next week Tuesday which the doctor is hoping will show the cancer has shrunk a lot in my liver. Then he can go in and remove what is left. Still feeling great and doing well.

I hope it works for you. My mother in law is in a similar position. She was waiting to have a tumour reduced to operable size , which lucky enough happened. The surgery and recovery is still very hard. I hope the very least that happens to you is the same if not more.

Good to hear. Chemo has to be tough. You sound strong, though.

Chemo and radiotherapy are very hard going. I've had a few family members go through it now and the impact it has on your health is hard to quantify. Recovery takes longer because of it. That said at least it is a measurable thing that we can use to estimate peoples recovery. I'm this case I honestly and truly hope Hazard will come through it.

The Doctor said they didn't read the ct scans thoroughly enough so he wants them read again. So more waiting to see if the cancer has shrunk or spread.:(
Doing my 7th round of Chemo and feeling good besides the Neuropathy it causes.
"Sorry, I got confused and checked the scans for Fritos last time. The good news is that you are Frito free...if you want to consider that good news. Not me, I love Fritos. Here, have some Fritos."

I had to google Neuropathy. Is the pain bad? Does it come and go or isit a constant thing right now?

It only affects me when I try to drink cold stuff or touch or walk on cold surfaces. Feels like swallowing needles and little pin pricks on my hands and feet.. So I avoid those things as much as possible the week I get Chemo. It usually goes away by beginning of the following week.

Thanks for the update, and congrats on doing well!
One of the reasons the neuropathy occurs is because the body pulls blood from the peripheral vessels into the organs to help protect them against the chemo (plus the effect of the chemo itself). Exposure to cold, especially internally, causes vessel constriction as well because the body pulls blood in to try and keep the organs warm as a means of protecting them (which is one of the reasons frostbite occurs mostly in extremeties...the brain knows to 'sacrifice' those areas first to protect the rest). So it's basically the same process, by the chemo version is more intense obviously.

I'm not sure if they allow you any supplements now or at any point, but you might want to consider B12 and Alpha Lipoic Acid. They can both help quite a bit if you catch the neuropathy early enough. Just make sure to check with the doc first.

Thank you I will cueck into that.

Ct results looked great. No lesions visible in my liver where as originally there were multiple throughout the liver. Continue chemo and scan again after 12th treatment. On my 8th now.

Latest Tumor marker was a 0.8. He said he finds that hard to believe but he will check it again soon and if that is the case he will be checking to see if there is any cancer left or if it is all gone.:)
