I just started playing Shadow Of Mordor, for the first time.

I think the cinematics are way better for this 3 year old game then what I've seen in ME.
I don't think anyone would debate this. Shadow of Mordor is one of the best games this generation in a number of areas.

The removal of the power wheel is absolutely astonishing. Pausing combat and selecting which squad powers to use added strategy and tactics.

And I hate automatically taking cover. Why is there not a take cover button?

The power wheel I don't mind but I also don't like the dynamic cover mechanic.

Not sur you can change weapons untill you get to Eos.

I restarted yesterday morning so I could play in Hardcore now knowing a little bit about the game. I got to the spot where I picked up the Viper, and when I hit Y to pick it up, it gave me the option to equip it and replace one of the two weapons (sidearm/AR) that I was carrying. Playing the rest of the first world with a sniper rifle was an improvement - I'm still kind of irritated that they didn't let you pick what weapon(s) you start off with before boarding the shuttle.

(With that, I'm playing an Operative and I think they start with the ability to have an extra weapon equipped unlocked. I don't know what would happen if I had a different starting training option set.)

I've only been able to play it sporadically due to work and all, but it's growing on me. Started sending strike teams out and researching augmentations and the like. Hopefully will have quality time to play this weekend.

For those who've played a significant time (I guess 5-10 hours), is the game worth playing right now for full price or wait for price drop? I'm still going through Horizon Zero Dawn.

If you're a die hard fan of the series, then yes it is absolutely worth playing right now. The first few hours are rough but it does get better. However if you've got a full backlog of games to get to, you'd be ok waiting for the price drop, which given its critical reception, shouldn't be too long.

I'm only really three or four hours in but I'd agree. If you like Mass Effect, you'll want to play this game. If it wasn't a big enough deal for you to already have bought it and be into it, and you have other things you're already playing, you can probably wait.

I think it is well worth well worth playing right now. I am 17 hours in and loving it.

However, having two big rpgs going at once is a little silly. So, I would say finish Horizon first and then get ME.

I already had it preordered before and it has arrived but I am debating whether I should return it since it doesn't seem to be living up to standards. I am a fan of the trilogy from last gen.

thanks for the feedback.

The more I play it the more I'm really liking it. Just researched an Aug that turns my shotgun shells into explosive rounds. Combined that with another rapid fire Aug and then added two high capacity mag mods to it. The thing is a beast! I also researched and developed the Black Widow 50. cal. It's a monster when you fire it while cloaked to get the 20% damage boost.

What Particular standards?? If you enjoyed mass effect 1, 2 and 3.. you will certainly enjoy this game and feel right at home with it. I'm seven hours into the new one myself and can't wait to get back into it tonight. Game is great .

Awesome. Iwas going to put that explose round aug on my Assault Rifle, but didn't realize you had to apply them during development. So now I am hunting down all the componants again.

I did this too but instead of explosive rounds, I shoot a continous electrical current. I think I'll research armor next.
Like I said, the more I play it the more I'm liking it.

Electrical Conduit is pretty cool.
