Megaton: Mini NES by nintendo with 30 games $60

That's a cool story but all I could think of is how often I have to replace my batteries on my wireless mouse that I use 8 hours a day at the office 5 days a week.

Answer: Like once every 2 years.

Magic Mouse goes about three weeks with high powered Eneloops.

That's so stupid. I thought it was releasing tomorrow, not pre-order for tomorrow?

That's Amazon. You can get in line at your local Best Buy, Walmart (midnight), or Target and get one tomorrow.

It's amazing to think this will be a tougher find this holiday than PS4 Pro.

Gonna get one from Amazon tomorrow, hopefully, but before, try to get one from Gamestop when they open.

Did Gamestop do preorders? I would think so. I'm guessing all of them at my gamestop will be accounted for. I may do midnight Wakmart tonight if I am awake.

Yea I ended up having tomorrow off so I'll stop by Best Buy when they open. Gamestop pretty close as well. If not then I'll check Amazon so fine with me it goes on sale a little later.

Oblong I haven't seen pre-order options anywhere for this. Does Nintendo even do pre-orders for hardware? Even if they don't I don't see why a store would unless they're not sure on numbers.

Found this on Reddit. Others have called and were told first come first serve. Sounds like YMMV but I'm not having much faith in finding one tomorrow.

I was up and needed a few things so I decided to head over to my Wal-Mart tonight to see if I could nab one. I showed up right at Midnight and there was about 20 people in the electronics section. I was told that all the Wal-Marts (at least locally) were allocated 6 units each. The 1st person in line showed up at 8:30pm and the 6th arrived at 10pm. Cashier told me they received a ton of calls too. I didn't stand a chance and this is a mid-sized town, population 30K or so.

Nintendo certainly has its hardcore fans that think nothing about standing in line 3 1/2 hours to get a 25 year old system, lol. Me showing up at Midnight was crazy enough for me, but at the least it gave me a general vibe of how popular these suckers will be locally. I suspect all the big box stores tomorrow will have their lines as well and likely similar tight allocations.

I will give my best shot with Amazon tomorrow afternoon and if that doesn't work then I'll just wait until after Christmas when they are more plentiful. My camping out for anything ended with the original Wii.

Good luck to everyone today, surely a few of us will hit paydirt. My bets are on OfficialSono finding a 6-pack of them.

I've been trying to order from Gamestop website for past hour or so. Site is beyond slow but I've had it in my shopping cart now but keep trying to change shipping options only to get kicked back out.

Amazon changed the product page for the NES Classic.

The wife is going to Toys R Us. I tasked her to look one for me.

It was a chick.....

Did she by any chance resemble the gal playing Gameboy below?

I kind of blew it. That reddit post mentioned Best Buy's site updating at 1AM ET and didn't think to actually check the damn thing until then, so too late all sold out. Gamestop's website had them in stock until maybe 2:30ish I kept trying to buy one but site was beyond slow and could never get past the payment screen. Drove past Best Buy this morning about half hour before opening. A few cars in the lot but no one in line so figured I'd head to Target for some other items. Their website showed stock until maybe around 9 so didn't bother looking while I was there. Went to Best Buy about 10 minutes before opening and they had handed out tickets at 9AM for people to come back. Went to the Gamestop nearby and they had sold out right away. They mentioned only having about 5 of them. Not sure about Best Buy but wouldn't think too many. Neither place has any idea when they'll get more. I'll try Amazon otherwise whatever. Only thing I really wanted to play was Zelda so I could do a run through that series. Might just find an emulator...

When Nintendo does stuff like this, part of me can't wait for it to bite them in the ass in the future. They announced the damn thing in July. That should have been more than enough time to ramp up production. This thing isn't using exotic parts or anything. There is no reason for it to be unavailable beside incompetence on Nintendo's part or trying to manufacture an artificial demand. And with the way Nintendo's been run, it could be a mixture of both.

I wanted to get this for my son for Christmas to play together. Could not find it online or in store around here. Thanks Nintendo.

There will be more. It's their standard faux supply constraints to increase demand as the slowly release more and more each week.

Hanging out at Amazon; waiting to snipe one. Realistically, I don't really care. It's the idea that it's so scarce and if I can grab one; that's cool.
