Microsoft At E3 2018

If they do merge I’m gonna guess and say it’ll be either 99-119 USD

I’m sure if it’s happening it was or is gonna be asked in those surveys MS/Xbox sends out every so often. They sent me one last month but I totally forgot what it was aboot >,<‘

It's pretty simple, IMO.
  • Xbox Live: Silver
  • Xbox Live: Gold
  • Xbox Live: Platinum (includes Game Pass)
they should bring back family pack gold.
I think that the main reason to have that, was because Gold used to only cover a single gamertag, which now it covers the whole console, as long as that gamertag can be logged in.

I can easily see that. IF Microsoft can find the sweet spot in pricing then they've got a potential game changer imo.

If the price goes up for live then they will lose my sub

I agree, I don't play online on Xbox much as it is and game pass as it stands doesn't interest me. Maybe when they have more current games I'll subscribe again but so far I've found it to be a bunch of games I've already played on PS4 or that just don't interest me. That's understandable though as it's a new service and it's going to take time to build but for me it's just not where it needs to be right now.

They can have silver with no party chat, no gold perks on games like free games and discounts and summer sales and such.

Gold can stay the same

Platinum can have gold with game pass as well

2 hours?!? Got damn!

Jk.... I’m a bewildered, equal parts excited and have to ask why, but whatever happens I’m down like a crazy clown.

Still jelly at Rollins and that other guy who’s name escapes me at the moment, have fun. Hopefully their sound system still rocks? Makes ya feel all tingly for a while during some trailers.

Seriously though...what could be in that 2 hours? They’re rumored to have marketing deals for Starfield, Splinter Cell, Tomb Raider and Cyberpunk. We know Anthem will get a big spot along with other EA games. Probably will be a bunch of Indies.

There will be more than traditional game demos. Spencer already said they’ll be doing something different. Unveiling the next wave of Mixer share? Allow everyone watching on Mixer to try an E3 demo live?

Gotta be something more than 2 hours of game demos.

It’s going to be the secret new Kinect

Microsoft May Unify Xbox Game Pass And Xbox Live Gold After E3 2018

Microsoft’s two big services on the Xbox One right now, Xbox Game Pass and Xbox Live Gold might be merged into a single one, according to rumors. The company is committed to their plans of making both services bigger and better, so such unification makes sense and might cause the Xbox One to get a big boost in subscriptions.

The news comes from Generacion Xbox, which reported that some new job openings at Microsoft may hint towards a unification of Xbox Game Pass and Xbox Live Gold. Specifically, two of these offers request candidates to enhance the marketing area of Xbox Game Pass and secondly to Xbox Live Gold.

Based on these openings, it is deduced that it is the Xbox Game Pass team that may absorb the candidate to indirectly help Xbox Live Gold.

Both services, have their own subscriber base, each one taking advantage of what they deem more important on the console.

Xbox Live Gold is the service a player must subscribe to if they want to be able to play online. Apart from that though, the subscriber gets a few games for free each month through Xbox Games With Gold and exclusive deals and discounts in the store.

Xbox Game Pass, on the other hand, offers subscribers a must more laid down and casual experience. For as fas as you subscribe, you get access to a library of more than 100 titles ranging from indie games to huge exclusive franchises like Gears of War.

Having those two under one roof not only makes it easier for users to monitor their payments but they also get the best of both worlds in one price (which will be higher if that happens).

The same source reveals that Microsoft has news to share with fans at this year’s E3 2018 regarding Xbox Game Pass and Xbox Live Gold so cross fingers and let’s hope that this rumor actually gets confirmed.

It's me, and I'm super excited about going to the briefing! It better be good, as it's running as long as a movie now. Hopefully it doesn't drag too much in the second act!

I know you are kidding, but serious....there better not be any TV, Kinect, Dancing, Rapping, Escape Room. It better be...GAMES GAMES GAMES.

Did I just beat Rollins on this news front?

That would be cool. Although I've got to assume Bethesda would want to save that for their show.

Well, apart from game demos and trailers, we know they'll be talking about GamePass and their other services -- presumably talking about this integration mentioned above.

We can also assume there will be BC announcements, including MCC.

No doubt we'll hear talk about the X hardware power, and we'll see trailers featuring that.

There will probably be talk about "highest engagement of any console" along with talk of being "the best place to play games like..." (various multiplats). You'll get montages.

Game pass doesn't interest me. BC doesn't interest me. MCC does though. X hardware power interests me. Engagement doesn't interest me.

You’re probably right about Bethesda...but if I remember correctly they replayed the Fallout 4 demo during their conference a few years ago. Hopefully if they do that again, they’ll show different content this time.

I’m in the niche that enjoys the BC announcements. Was bummed we didn’t get anything during Inside Xbox. I think it’s a feature they need to keep hammering because it’s one that won’t get old with the longtime enthusiasts.

I’m probably in the minority...but I hope they can make Gamepass sound exciting. I’ve said it before but I think it’s the key to reviving 1st party gaming on Xbox.

Everything else...hope it’s less than 30 seconds of speak.

I could watch a 3 hour conference if there’s no:
  • Bands
  • Dance Revolution demos
  • Kinect demos
  • Sales talk
  • Unveiling of new cars
  • Escape room
What else am I missing?

I am not paying more for Xbox Live Gold even if it includes game pass. I pay about 44 bucks through a 3rd party code service and good heavens for the people who pay retail price of 60. I just can't fathom it being more expensive.

I'm with you there. I'm in that minority myself. It's the main thing that brought me around. I think it's a great selling point for alienated ex-Xbox fans like myself.

Maybe the reason things have been a little quiet re. BC lately is because they're saving announcements for E3. Hope so.
