Nah, Sony's 2006 conference blunder is starting to wear out. Thanks in large part to Microsoft's 2013 reveal event but also just because the PS4 is as big of a success as the PS2. If Microsoft knocks it out of the park next gen and sells 100 million consoles then people will start to forgive them for 2013. But then again, it wasn't just an embarrassment, they actually tried to take away consumer's rights. That might never be forgiven by some.

Nope, Sony burnt me, I had it day one and flipped that b because I was told GT was gonna be a launch title, forever has it soured my heart and my world.

The embarrassment was what they attempted not what was done. The price of the PS3 lived longer wih us than want the attempted to do, which I agree was stupid, we don’t need extra steps to owning physical things.

People forget, people forget....mwahahaha

Nope. Came and went. 2013 literally had a finite length of 365 days. You might try and live there, but it only skews your perspective and gets less accurate with time.

No. That's not how this works. It was an entire generation of mocking Sony for the 06 conference and the fact that multiplats ran better on 360. Revisionist history at best for Xbox fans. The shoe's on the other foot, you don't like it.

- Ori 2
- Indie showcase
- Additional BC announcements
- Phil in a t-shirt
- Crackdown release date

What else? I'm sure others are following this much more closely than I am. What are we 95% guaranteed to see?

Thats all i can think that is guaranteed. If fable is coming its probably too early at most we get Phil in a Fable shirt, same for the rumored perfect dark.

You think 2 new games from MS (not sequels, presumably AAA) + 2 new AAA exclusives from 2nd/3rd party is guaranteed? Seems hopeful. I think that's a little bit of a stretch, if we're talking about "pretty much guaranteed."

I think at least 1 new AAA IP from MS (non-sequel) announcement is guaranteed. I'd count a Perfect Dark or Fable reboot as qualifying.

It would probably be a safe bet that there will be also be 1 second or third party AAA exclusive announcement, even if it's time-limited.

I don't think I could guarantee 2 in each category.

Not sure about Bonnie Ross in a spartan suit.

Forza Horizon Japan plus Playgrounds new IP that is either Fable or (my guess) an open world GTA type game.

Splash Damage is rumored to be doing something Gears related. I’ll say it’s a Gears Battle Royale game.

Crackdown retooled and looking impressive this time.

Ori 2 is going to make me weep from its beauty.

I’m going to say that Microsoft found a partner for Scalebound.

I think we are going to see an exclusive 2nd party game from Sega. Or a big group of Sega’s Xbox games enhanced for X.

Hopefully we see something from a brand new studio.

A bunch of marketing deals that I could give two craps about as a gamer.

I’m hoping for, but not likely going to get VR games and compatible HMD’s announced.
 
Bet we'll get a spotlight on the MCC collection coming in full 4K/HDR to the X. That sounds big.
 
There is potentially another title from Moon Studios, not sure if it's coming to E3 this year or the next.

I'm hoping something outside the realm of Gears, Halo, Forza, Perfect Dark, and Fable. I would like to see something new... Something fresh. I'm sick of seeing these titles.

Just guessing.... mostly in part of how big they’re going for their briefing and booth/theater. With such a big space I’m betting for many games on display and hands on.

Two Perfect Darks in 20 years is too many?
 
I feel like this is going to be MS's comeback year at E3. Sony will do fine, but they'll mostly show stuff we already know about, and they'll be sort of coasting. MS has had three fair to middling E3s in a row, and they are hungry. They are now positioned with not only the strongest hardware to show off, and robust and upgraded BC, but a clear calendar (i.e., nearly everything they've announced has come out already). That means they have to announce some big, new games.

I think MS will have most the surprises and momentum this E3. I think this will be their year.

I concur.... MS has the biggest to gain, the others will more than likely be “here’s something you won’t see for years to come” whilst the other will be like “please enjoy our look at our new takes on previous franchises, coming soon”

I feel this year will be much better for the three this year, last year was just “mmmmmm meh”

Agree with Andy, or maybe I’m just being hopeful..?

I think the fact they are going big with the actual arena this year, plus the ‘already announced and released’ RDR BC stuff (which could have been big news at E3), also shows they must have some big announcements.

Maybe.


Edit: I still have a boner for CD3, but the total lack of news has dropped it to about 3/4 mast. I’m hoping it’s just because they want to showcase it in a big way at E3...? (The game, not the boner).

I remember the Xbox One debut and being really underwhelmed during the reveal.

1. Price.....what a joke.
2. Kinect.....I had predicted the demise of this device 2 years prior so why am I see it here on stage now?
3. The cable BS....I mean at a time when so many are cutting the cable chord you are trying to integrate it with my console? Wut breh
