Monster Hunter series now at 48M
Monster Hunter: World has now shipped 7.5 million units on Xbox One and PlayStation 4, which makes it the best-selling game in Capcom's history.
Capcom said today that Monster Hunter: World had been played by more than 7 million people, from a total of 7.5 million shipped units including downloads - a record high for the Japanese publisher.
That milestone includes both Xbox One and PlayStation 4, and is all the more remarkable for Monster Hunter: World being the first game in the franchise to launch on a non-Nintendo platform since 2006. It is also the first simultaneous global launch of any game in the series' history.
Capcom noted both of these factors in a statement released today, stating that "Monster Hunter: World has overcome both linguistic and cultural barriers" in finding this new level of success.
I seem to recall a Street Fighter selling more, about 8 million.

I wonder if PUBG was any of that 44% uptick?Xbox One X momentum holding (I'm assuming that's why the bump). That's good. Most people were expecting it to peter out in early 2018. Should be (somewhat) interesting to see how long it hangs in there.
I wish we'd get numbers on the X vs. normal model split. I'm curious. I think I heard something suggesting the X ratio was like 1/3 of all the Xbox Ones sold, but I don't remember clearly. It's higher than the Pro vs. PS4 ratio, I'm pretty sure of that. Makes sense, of course -- better value proposition for upgraders.

Yeah, that's a good point, I forgot about PUBG. Definitely a factor.
Oddly enough in the US the X1X was always leading on Amazon the past month when I lookedIt's hard to say, on Amazon the One X has been behind the Pro every time I've checked over the last two months, they are both usually on the same page but the Pro always seems to be ahead. I was curious so I just checked right now and the PS4 is 34, Pro is 67, One X is 76 and 500gb One S is 92. You are right though it would be nice to see what the split is between the base consoles vs the upgraded ones for both companies.

Well, we know that the X1X outsold the Pro during Nov & Dec (launch-aligned).

But yeah, I'm curious what the ratio is for the Xbox One X is, relative to the normal Xbox One. If we had that, we could figure out how many pei thought ople bought X's, at least in the US.
I was thinking it was 80/20.
