I can't see why on earth that would be something they need to hide. It would only be good news. Like when Sony said they were going x86 with the PS4.

Why not? Nintendo does what they want...they always been like this.
Them leaking the architecture would be like them leaking the specs which they have been super tight lipped about.

Yes, 2 years later. Nintendo have always made good profit day one on hardware. Not sure what you expecting to be honest, but something inline with current consoles makes perfect sense for a Nintendo console.
As for not being X86...I totally agree.
As for PSK, eh. Nintendo has always been driven by its software fan-base. Ninty proved with the Wii that power is not the recipe for success, experiences are. I guess the question is can Nintendo offer an experience that people want? if not, it will fail.
No argument there. All disappointment is because we were hoping Ninty would go with a top-tier power console again. If you've been reading the thread, nearly all of us have been expecting Nintendo to do just what these rumors are now saying. Nintendo is driven by it's fanbase, and that is precisely why they need to get competitive with their hardware and make it easier for 3rd party devs to get on board.
Chasing Wii's success is like a heroine addict trying to get that first high. It ain't happening again. The Wii was an anomaly of right gimmick, right time, and fad status. If they can't successfully get (and keep) solid 3rd party support, then they will be relegated to secondary console status again.
If the Lack of x86 is true, then they screwed themselves. Developers are not going to waste the time and money it takes to make a separate version from scratch. Hell, look at some of the grumbling there is over the Neo, and it's just a pumped up PS4 (supposedly)!
Of course, maybe this is all wrong and they release an X86 Beast, lol. Or the Neo is really the NX

I still don't think this NX is going to be what people are expecting. I don't think it is going to be a traditional console like an X1 or PS4. I think it is going to be more directed at their new recent venture of mobile games(as in phones, tablets, etc) Not sure how it not being x86 would effect it though.
I agree and it's what I expect, but the hope was that they go more traditional (pie in the sky!).
If they aren't trying to get get third parties or versions of their games, then sure, having a different architecture wouldn't matter. It would certainly be in line with how they have operated. I'm not sure just how valid relying on Ninty Fan's good will will work out for them. I know one Ninty fan who ONLY buys Nintendo, and I can almost see the sadness in his soul when a group of us would talk about the games we are playing that he can't, lol.
They will want 3rd parties...they always have, but it never seems like it is a priority for them.
We know it won't be a beast. Nintendo said they are not going to lose money on the console from day 1.
I had my doubts but i've come to to terms with it. This is what you need to know. Come March 2017 we're going to see Mario, Zelda, and Metroid like we've never seen them before. It's going to be epic. Nothing else matters. So pick up the NX and thank me later. You're welcome.
