I really just want Fatal Frame 5 to get a US release. I don't care about hardware as long as i have software.
I think they'll go the innovation route. No idea where they'll take that though. So I'm guessing it'll be a holiday 2106 launch?
Anyone want to guess what they are going for? 'Innovation', a more powerful version of what they already have, etc? I'm confused as to the direction they're thinking.
No way the Wii U is done(nail in its coffin was Zelda missing 2015). Them getting a headstart on the Next-Gen in the middle of this gen with the right hardware/games(Zelda possibly a launch title) would be huge.If Nintendo does launch in 2016, that would be worse than Microsoft's early exit with the OG Xbox.

Oh boy. What kind of gimmick did they dream up this time?
I think Nintendo would do much better if they just built a standard console that wouldn't bleed dry of all third-party support within six months. Developers can't shoe-horn features into their multi-plat titles to take advantage of whatever unique gizmo Nintendo comes up with. It's not financially feasible for the long-term.
Yes and no. They definitely skimped on horsepower like they usually do, and the controller, while as close as they've come to industry standard in years, was still rather... unique. I'd like to see what Nintendo could do if they released a powerful console in the $350-$400 range with a controller that's like an evolved SNES controller with dual analogs. They tried that with GameCube it didn't work.
Wii U didn't have the right hardware. So 3rd party support is null as they invested lots of money in R&D for the PS4/XBO architectures.A head start didn't help the Wii U nor did the Wii suffer from launching a year after the 360.
Among comparable consoles like the 360/PS3, a Headstart can mean a lot. But Nintendo's problems are not related to when they launch, it's whether or not they can build a system that appeals to the general public, or not.
"Presently, we cannot talk about the time period when it [the NX] will go on sale or what it's like. Because we are calling it a ‘new concept,' we are not thinking of this as a ‘simple replacement' for the 3DS or the Wii U."
.
Probably a totally new Architecture then the wii/wii U.
Maybe even a GASP nVidia one!
Why they only made 2 bad ones.Hahahahahaha. Nintendo making good tech decisions. Nope.
Why they only made 2 bad ones.
I agree. But it would still be as short or shorter of a lifespan than the OG Xbox.
I'm not saying that shouldn't do it. They should. But only if the hardware is better than what's currently on the market.
Me too. Say it does release by 2017, it wouldn't be too hard to double the power of the PS4, save for the stupid gimmicks...
Yep, gimmicks cost hardware muscle for sure. I just wish they would go the XB1route, tons of games with a fairly powerful system.
