Lol. Just land at the school or the power plant . 24 hour fast paced death match action . But seriously If I wanted that, I would not play pubg. Would just load up cod or battlefield. I hope they don’t incorporate this . The main reason I play pubg is to take a break from those types of game modes . That’s just my opinion though .
While I agree that it doesn't really fit, I think it will be very helpful fir people who are just starting out pubg. Give them a chance to learn the controls, the weapons, and other various mechanics. Most new people die so fast that they never get a chance to figure things out. They have to play tons of matches before they ever find a Scar or any of the more rare weapons. If they have this mode where they can get right to the action, hopefully they figure it out and want to stick around more fir the real game mode of pubg.

Playing with headphones over here as well, the sound is spot on IMO.
Nah, they still need to get the positional sound right. I've got Atmos headphones, and I can't tell if the footsteps I am hearing are above or below me. That's a big deal in this game. I don't know if Far Cry 5 does or not, but I always know exactly where everything is in relation to me.

Please stop.

Like in a house, I can definitely tell where they are above me. You can tell that from the reverb alone.

Nah.

Lol, stop what? If think the fast precision of a mouse is anywhere near a realistic representation, then you've never fired a weapon before. Given the game has a a realistic bent, I'd think that's appropriate.

Don’t feed the troll.

Who cares about realistic? It's f***ing PUBG where people can take 20 kills with a assault rifle to kill, can be ran over by a car without falling down, etc.

Lol, my bad. I actually agree with you, that the speed and precision of a mouse doesn't really benefit game design in many cases.

It's just...it's just that I've heard things in this thread that no self respecting gamer should think. I thought you were heading down that dark path.

But Pubg does push a more realistic approach. It's not a twitch shooter. It is definitely very grounded in operation. That's what I like about it. I was only commenting on how much the control method effects the feel of the game.

We have all read your post, so yeah we have too.

I guess okay on the new map but Damn we need this game up to date. I just played this game again and I do love this game I'm just mad it's not going fast enough to get it fixed.

But then again Conan Exiles took a while but once they had it going it was amazing.

Sound in PUBG is horrible. Exaggerated sound of footsteps sounding the same inside a house as on grass 20 feet away outside the house. All its good for is announcing someone's presence. Impossible to get an accurate location from it.

ok so i wasn't going crazy

There are completely different step sounds played for the different surfaces you walk on as far as regular ground/grass, sand, swamp/water, wood floor and metal... and all of those vary a bit depending on whether you're wearing shoes or barefoot.

Someone walking on those surfaces next to you will be clear. Someone above you will have a thick pronounced slightly muffled reverb added to the sound and once again, all depending on surface material.

Okay, I feel like I'm the one taking crazy pills here. Quick hearing test, be honest, can you guy hear the bullet direction and footstep direction in these clips?

You guys can't hear the directions of the footsteps here?

Just before I land you see a guy landing about 100m to my left and then when I land you see the guy in front of me running. You can obviously hear his footsteps in the mid to mid-right channel initially and then it trails off to the right... then you can hear him to the left of me thinking he's slick and has the drop and then right before I enter you can hear him behind me and he takes the bait and gets knuckled up. You can hear the gunshots coming from the guy that we initially observed landing 100m of me killing someone the entire time, with bullet sounds coming from the correct direction.

How about this one?

To start off, I wasn't accidentally running in the intial direction of the first person I attack, I heard him land outside of the building in a spot that you literally cannot even see from my position and start running towards the west entrance of the building, all tracked by sound. As the clip starts it shows me running towards his direction. You can hear the people above me with the slightly muffled metallic sound, that means he's right above me, you can hear him making his way to the eastern side of the building throughout the entire clip. After I stab the hell out of the second person I attack, you hear the guy above me getting even more muffled as he gets towards the roof landing area.

Example 3.

From the moment you hear the glass break as he jumps out of the window, you can hear the direction of his footsteps perfectly up until he comes crashing through the window to revive, you can even notice that I'm turning my character towards the direction I hear him coming from. I'll admit it, I mainly forced this one in here because it was a f***ing hilarious bug (reported it) but still works as a decent example.

Bullet direction example.

This is the best directional audio example IMO, this one is my brother playing (on regular Xbox One S on a 720p TV with speaker audio no less) and it wasn't recorded so much because of the kills but because of the hilarity of the shooting by the people he's killing and it's almost purely an audio directional placement example which makes it funny. You can pinpoint the direction of all 4 players based on foot movement and the direction the bullet sound comes from, I know because I called out every single one of them to him while he was playing and it doesn't show the full thing but he does end up killing all four.

From the rip we hear players running up to the house, only house with a door open so they know he's inside
:
1) the guy taking the the shot in the beginning from the south east corner of the house, notice my brother turns to orient himself towards that sound immediately bullet sound is perfect.
2) As he adjusts I make two callouts besides the obvious south east guy, who's footsteps you can hear coming from the left audio channel. "guy coming up from behind and another guy towards your right corner of the house"... then your hear the guy to the left ready his grenade and then the guy from behind open the .
3) Just before he's jumping down the guy that was to his left starts running after grenading and that is the first guy he guns down.
4) We now hear mysterious guy #4 which is the reason why I recorded this... you don't see him in the clip at all but you can hear his location is clearly just outside of his sight to the left. This dude potato aims the f*** out of my brother, missing an entire clip while the first guy is downed and then sent to lobby; then you hear him switch to another weapon and proceed to miss that entire clip as the second guy is downed, and you can hear the guy that approached the house from behind shooting as well and you can actually see him for a split second missing shots standing at the front door as the second guy is sent to lobby... dude #4 still whiffing shot after shot as he rounds the corner.

He actually ended up killing all of them but I forgot to record it. Guy that was in the house potato aimed his way around that right corner my brother was facing at the end of the clip. Guy #4, whiffs another full clip as my brother starts looting and obviously dies like he wanted to from the start, lol

Am I crazy here or ...?

Funny thing is . Whenever I shoot at someone , no matter where I am verses where they are . They always just instantly turn around and shoot right at me . Lol

Same here. The only time I can't track it is when it's a silenced weapon, especially the VSS that gun is like slow death by mosquitoes. I usually just end up spinning in circles until I'm either dead or accidentally find coverage for the direction I'm being shot from.

I'm liking this new map more than Miramar already, but Erangel is still bae.
