Official Thread Playstation VR

according to Sony they are gonna offer a bundle that comes with the headset, the camera, GT Sport and a new VR disc for 199 on Sunday I may have to jump at that one :D

Make sure it comes with v.2 of PSVR. I heard that some bundles don't.

I have to ask... I just bought the playstation launch bundle, move controllers, camera, headgear, and the demo disc vr worlds for 349.99. My kids want Job Simulator. I can't find it on disc. Is it safe to assume it is digital only now? I desperately want it on disc so I don't have to download it prior to xmas and possibly ruin the surprise.

I've never seen a hardcopy of that.

it is out there but it is rare avg price on ebay is well over 60 bucks some as much as almost 100. I have seen it at game stop tho in fact I THINK mine has it.

I'm curious about Wipeout, but I don't know if all the twists and turns would produce motion-sickness. I think I'll wait to hear reports.

Great idea, though -- Wipeout in VR. The game didn't sell all that well, from what I can tell, so I'm a little surprised they went through the trouble. But it does seem like a good match for VR.

The other main VR announcement from last night was TLG in VR. When watching the show, I had the impression it was the full game in VR, but no, it's just a 20-minute demo. The good news is, you don't need to own the full game to play it, and it's free. It comes out this Tuesday, 12/12.

That's a lot of gameplay if you can stomach it. I can tell you racers are exhilarating in vr.

Btw, additional info on Wipeout.

"Race every track in VR, plus new cockpit view with head-tracking & full 3D audio. And this isn’t a separate slice of gameplay: you can race in every track, across every game mode, off or online, with this free PS VR update."

s***, lots of announcements of new PSVR games.

  • Killing Floor Incursion
  • Wipeout
  • RIck and Morty
  • Firewall Zero Hour
  • The Last Guardian demo
  • Shooty Fruity
  • Knockout Leagues
  • Dreams
  • Jupiter and Mars
  • Anamorphine
  • The Persistence
I'll pull out a couple to highlight.

Anamorphine, which I'd had my eye on earlier, before knowing it was coming to VR:

And Accounting +, which sounds boring (accounting?), but one of the devs is from Stanley Parable. Check it out:

Don't sleep on this! I know we're getting a ton of games but this looks incredible in VR

This looks good. Golum, coming in March. I didn't realize Jamie Griesemer and Marty O'Donnell -- formerly of Bungie -- were creators. Here is a PSX panel discussion with them, talking about the game and VR.

They have a unique solution for movement, which is a tricky problem for VR. Basically, you lean your head or body in the direction you want to go, rather than control movement with the buttons or thumbstick. I've cued it up to the part where they're talking about it.

Sounds like stuff they had Kinect users doing years ago. I wondered when that kind of locomotion would make it to PSVR.

Here's the Blood and Truth demo from PSX. For those who don't know, this is going to be a full-length game. They did the London Heist demo.

I'm looking forward to it.

I'm hearing TLG demo is beautiful on pro at least, its more like a demo, but pretty cool and free. Anyone tried it?

So the controls are simple for this one, its short, but people are really enjoying it. It's free and up tomorrow.

Sounds like its in good hands. I might actually get motivated to invest in a shooter again.

Played through the last guardian demo.

It's short, maybe 20min
It's really simple
It's incredible visually and slightly frightening. Probably one of the cleanest VR game I've played(I've also played vive)

I want a more fleshed out experience like this. The work they put in the ps4 game really shines in a way you can only appreciate in vr.

Someone posted this on reddit about 2018 exclusives. I'm thinking some are left out on ps4?

PSVR;

Firewall Zero Hour

Bravo Team

The Inpatient

Moss

Truth and Blood

The Persistence

Megalith

Bound by Blood

PS4 games;

Days Gone

Detroit

Spider Man

God Of War

Yeah, some PS4 games are missing there, such as Dreams, Yakuza 6, MLB, Colossus remake, and others, depending on where you want to draw the line. It's nice to see PSVR titles listed first and not as an afterthought, though.

Dead probably knows this already, but for anyone new to PSVR, don't let your girlfriends, sisters, or wives play Rec Room. I'm hearing stories about women getting mobbed by groups of perverts in there. Sort of like a VR gang rape (or sexual harassment, anyhow). With the "presence" of VR and positional audio, I'm sure it can get pretty creepy.
