Yeah, I've been reading GAF for about 8 years now, so I like to think I'm pretty good at separating the wheat from the chaff. I don't pay much attention to the one-liner negativity. I pay attention to people who give specifics, or who go into some detail about what they liked and didn't like.
One of the things that occurred to me as I was reading the thread was that I would need to demo the unit before trying it. That had occurred to me before, but it didn't really sink in until I was reading that thread. I called around, and unfortunately no stores in my area have a PSVR demo (not surprising; I live in a small city). I don't have any friends with VR units, so I think I'm out of luck, in terms of being able to demo a unit, which makes VR a no-go for me, for the time being.
I asked in that thread, and I'll ask it here, too: do you find that VR makes "normal" gaming less enjoyable? Do you find yourself playing a normal game and wishing it were in VR instead?
Yeah, demoing VR is super important, some people can't even stand the nausea being in the menu screen, while others can play for hours.
As far as Vr making normal games less enjoyable, yes to an extent for me. RE7 just seems like 10 steps backwards without VR, it feels boring, no depth, no 3d effect, it just feels completely stale. However, for some reason if I don't have a VR option for a game, I don't find myself dwelling on it so much that I don't enjoy myself either.
