Sony at E3 2017

My expectations are medium. In terms of new games, I think they blew their load in the last couple E3s and won't have a whole lot new to bring to the table -- maybe some Japanese games. I am looking forward to the demos of games we've already seen (GoW, Days Gone, Spidey, maybe Detroit).

I'm expecting about a B-grade conference. Good not great. Sony knows how to put on a show, but the hype from new announcements isn't going to be the same this year as it was the last two.

Yeah, I'm with you. I just want their big games (God of War, Spiderman, Days Gone, GTSport) to show well and one or two new AAA announcements. If I get that, Sony did it.

I just found a new adapter that's getting good ratings on Amazon. Reviews say no input lag using Xbox Elite controller on PS4. Mine is ordered. If it works well, I'll be playing a lot more PS4 this year. Will finally be ready for From Softwares next game.

Linkage?

We know Sony SHOULD rock the house but.... Will it continue this years trend and be a letdown ie good but not as good?

Sony needs to announce at least as many triple A ip this year as they did last year now their graphics have been superceded people will need big libraries.

As long as we see some shenmue 3 and ffviir gameplay

IMO

I want to see more from the Spiderman game and a few rpgs. I'll have to watch in between breaks cause I didn't know the conference was tonight at the same time as game 5 of the finals.

No Layden this year so we should be fine.

Layden will be there. He said we'll just have to suffer through a few minutes of him (his words), and the rest will be focused on games.

They got their sales figures out of the way early, intentionally. They learned their lesson about sales-related slide shows at E3.

Should be a good night. I'm expecting a show. Sony wins their 7th straight E3 and the Dubs win the title.

It would take a miracle for them not to win against what this years E3 shows have shown....
I just hope they don't sit on this fact and hold off surprises they would of shown if the competition was better.

They won't hold back. When have they in the past? Sony marches to the beat of their own drum. When you have that many developers, you might as well show your hand. No reason to think this won't be another amazing show. Hope they bring back the orchestra.

I've no doubt as a spectacle it will be great. They've got some killer third party games to show but as they'll be coming to Xbox and be best on Xbox X really it needs to be judged on what new AAA exclusives they announce.

Yes they have held off in the past.

Who doubts Sony showing AAA exclusives?
MS dropped the ball in this area this E3 but Sony won't.

Well he said announcements. The announcements could be lower than usual (which will lead inevitable trolling because of the criticisms aimed at MS)

I don't doubt for a second they will. I'm sure they'll show some great new exclusives to show off as always. Just saying like the MS event, it should be judged on that rather that 3rd party marketing deals. On the big beast 3rd party games alone they'll be showing will make it a great spectacle, just saying the narrative is all about new exclusives so far and it should be judged on that like the MS event. In that department the bar hasn't been set very high by MS so they should have no problem.

Definitely agree but they are having a pre-show with announcements for the likes of GT Sport and Knack 2 I would guess so this show might be packed again.

Hm. I figured they'd close the show with Knack 2. Just to confuse people.

So you guys expecting new games or retread?

Fourth year in a row I'm still hoping they managed to sweet talk Capcom into making DMC V.

/fingers crossed.

Sony doesn't have to do much to 'win' E3. Just show two non-indie, unannounced titles, and they get it. Release date is of no significance.

Just announce Half-life 3. Gabe doesn't need to know. Hell, it doesn't even have to come out.
