Yeah cause Sony all of a sudden has the cash to secure sf5.

Anyway GREAT news that a new sf is FINALLY coming.

I'm curious to see how many are gonna buy this day one despite there being a long line of SF4 iterations. I'd wait until they released the second or third release. Also, MS and Sony are really breaking out the money banks this gen.
lol, how cute. There's absolutely no way in hell this will be staying genuinely exclusive though. These marketing ploys have become such a joke. It's gotten to the point that the word has no meaning any more.
Gotta say, I'm disappointed that it appears the graphics are only marginally improved over SFIV and they've even kept mostly the same art style (which I didn't particularly like in SFIV in the first place). I was hoping to be really excited by awesome 'newness' in SFV but SO FAR it looks very much the same, imho.

i remember many did buy SF4 on day one despite there being a long line of almost every SF iterations so it really doesn't affect much.
yeah it's getting more ridiculus every day.
sooner or later we gonna see a game exclusive to X1 360 PS4 PS3 and PC. non-Nintendo exclusive!
i wonder how sony did this, they dont have the money to throw around to make it worthwhile for capcom, and capcom always seems to treat sony like some redheaded stepchild.
My thoughts:
Pretty big. Fighting game genre has become a bit niche though. PS4 isn't doing well in Japan so I don't know if this deal will help the PS4 in Japan or simply not do anything at all for the console in that territory.
I got burned out by Ultra Marvel vs. Capcom 3 coming out just 7-8 months after the regular version. I told myself that I would never buy a "Vanilla" version of a Capcom fighter ever again (lol). I'm thinking Street Fighter 5 will stay exclusive on PS4 but the inevitable remakes will come to Xbox.
One strange thing about this news though -- no statement of an arcade release. No Street Fighter in arcade would be very strange for the series. Makes me wonder if this will be a F2P game (since that format wouldn't work in arcade obviously + it's becoming a trend in the fighting game genre) and if it will be, would that hurt the series?

Japan only surely? Not that it matters for me as I stopped buying fighting games when Capcom started releasing slightly updated versions every 5 months.
bah but this is the internet you can find outrage about everything. I can post a picture of a kitten and it will turn into a debate about sex race politics religion and people yelling at each other.
Wish I could get into fighting games again but just don't have the time to put in / too much rage issues.
BS the outrage on TR was dumb then and it's dumb now. MS helped pay for the game so maybe if they did not do it the game would have never been made in the first place so PS4 gamers would have lost nothing.
I don't lie this exclusive BS but I'm not going to cry about it. it sucks for all gamers.
That's a good reminder of history. I guess if the consumer keeps on buying, there's no real reason to stop. Personally, I just want to see another Street Fighter themed racing game.
Japan only in terms of exclusivity? Highly doubt it. This deal would be pointless if that was the case because the PS4 isn't doing well in Japan and the Xbox One definitely isn't. Would be a waste of money from Sony to make the deal just for Japan. The sales in Japan would pretty much be similar without the deal.
So if Microsoft makes a third party exclusive deal that is mutually beneficial to both parties its bad for the industry, greedy bastards?
But if Sony does it, it's only natural and totally the third party's idea and Sony reluctantly obliges them?
If Xbox gamers don't make a big deal of this as PS gamers did of Tomb Raider's exclusivity deal, then we will know why. It is because PS gamers play games and Xbox gamers play fantasy football. Don't try to deny it. You all acted appalled with the Xbox One debut but Microsoft knew your guilty pleasure from the start, and Microsoft knew it very well. 
I heard that it isn't a timed exclusive or about money at all but it is the fact that the 2.5D was so hard on GPUs the Xbox could only hit a resolution of 480i with a sub 30fps
