Did anyone buy the first dlc pack ? I cleared my way down to the Black Gulch today and beat the rotten. You can use the shrine there to teleport to the dlc area and leave down a co op sign. I got pulled in for one game. The area seemed pretty challenging. I'm thinking I might buy it.
In the dlc ? Is it worth getting ? Seemed good from the few minutes I was summoned to play.
Then completed the dlc (was on Journey 3) the phantoms I summoned was very helpful, tho only one of them survived killing the last boss.
Yeah those flame attacks takes a lot of health, used every resistance I could find in order to survive. Also I made sure to stand behind him when I drink the flask, as he takes some time to reach me from there if he is about to attack.
Broke down and bought the first DLC, the "sunken" one. It's good. The level design is better than most of the vanilla game. It's also challenging in NG+.
I have to say each of the Souls titles has sucked me in more. I hated Demon's Souls at first, but it warmed up to me. To some degree I hated Dark Souls 1 initially and the DLC approach. The design of the levels was great in 1. Dark Souls 2 really grabbed me though. I know it's often seen as one of the worst of the series, but I really appreciate some of the improvements. Fast travel at the start is probably the biggest improvement. More bonfires leaves me less frustrated. Lot's of co-op signs when I get stuck. The movement and controls are better than the others. I especially appreciate that there are no ridiculous boss battles like Orenstein & Smough.
I'm most of the way through NG+ and may start NG++.

Yep. And the original game is expanded along it with it having all the dlc. Sounds slick. I wonder if I can import my level 300 character from the 360 version.
I never bought any of the dlc, so that would be a good bonus. Of course, I have no desire to play the dlc at this point after watching others do it, but it's nice to have.
I'm interested in the improved mechanics and graphics. It might give me a reason to actually play it again. Kinda sad since I put like 500 hours into Dark Souls 1, and I lost interest in Dark Souls 2 not too long after beating it and trying some co-op.
Soul memory was the thing that deterred me from co-op. I like building co-op characters and staying at a certain level. I did it with both Demon's Souls and Dark Souls 1. I'm not keen on my character increasing a stat each time that will eventually make him unable to co-op with reasonably-leveled characters. I also do not feel like beating the game just to co-op in NG+ where the levels are less strict.
I mainly just watch speed runs of this game now.
Yep. This is now my most anticipated game next year so far. I only played the first dlc as well.
I fully admit I have a serious problem with this game. Two characters over level 300 from the 360 version are evidence of that. So is the fact that I'm chomping at the bit to do it all again!
That is just it, I have put in so much time with it already it is hard to be as excited for it as newer games. However, I will get the X1 version day one

Even if we can import old characters I'll probably start from new given they have changed parts of the story and added entire new npcs.
I will use the X1 version to test out the 2 classes I have not touched yet, Sorcerer & Cleric.
Same two for me I reckon. Faith can get you some powerful stuff so I'm thinking the cleric but the sorcerer is a frigging sorcerer.
I played the 360 version but never bought the dlc so I'll be getting this. May wait for a price drop because I'll be busy with other games but I will be getting this!
