The Xbox Onesie

Where were these people when Xbox was churning out exclusives and PS4 was bare? These things go in cycles, it's a dry patch for Xbox right now. But still there was plenty they showed at the presser to keep me interested. Sony's exclusive don't float my boat, they are either TLOU clones or niche Japanese games.

Phil could easily throw some CGi trailer up for the games coming down the pipeline. But, if those games aren't ready, it would put the Xbox brand and himself in a really bad spot. At this point he has to chose between the lesser of two evils here. Either show s*** that's years off and damage the brand, or save the announcements when the games are ready, and deal with the doubters. He's doing what any smart business owner could/would do. I don't blame him. He's doing it right.

Lol, no they didn't. People kept saying, "That's it, a logo?"

We must have read different things, point is they only bought the IP a few months before they announced the game, they shouldn't have announced it that early, hell anyone paying attention already knew they purchased the IP anyway.

I've spent the last year and a half playing almost nothing but PS exclusives (minus a two-month break for Skyrim). That's not because I'm trying to score points in the console wars. It's because Sony offers games that interest me, and MS doesn't.

Exclusives matter. They even matter to "actual gamers," believe it or not.

Exclusives have always mattered, in every console generation. They are one of the main reasons people choose one console over another.
Wow! The beginning of this gen Sony had very little. MS had plenty.

They showed the logo, spoke about it for a bit then moved on to gears 4.

Did you need a trailer for a HD remake that had leaked?

First off, I wasn't the one asking for it. Slow your roll. Second, it was the end of the 2014 conference I spoke off, not 2015 dude.

They announced it at in 2015. It got leaked by a beta tester before that.

Wasn't attacking you.

Was that at E3 though? It's different If it's just some random announcement.

Yeah it was during their first E3 after buying the IP just a few months earlier, I know they played it at E3's in a row but I am almost sure they announced it with just a logo the year before. I could be wrong but either way it was shown at 2 E3's before it was released. I know for certain Crackdown was announced at E3 2014 with a cgi trailer.

I have read that Microsoft is meant to be making a game like Horizon (what ever that m. Good luck to them it took Guerrilla 5 years and 343 is only comparable in size.

I'm aware man. They simply showed the logo at the end of the 2014 conference. They showed it at the end when they cycled through a bunch of the logos. I distinctly remember the dialogue from people "surprised" that it was all that was shown. See for yourself though, tired of repeating myself.

Comparison of GT sport and Forza 7:

Turn 10 has defeated Polyphony. I don't have any expectations SONY can change that.

SONY tried to beat HALO and never did. They tried to beat Gears to a certain extent by adding multiplayer to Uncharted, but Gears won. Then they fought with Forza Motorsport with Gran Turismo and Drive Club with Forza Horizon and lost to both.

People complain that Microsoft keeps coming out with HALO, Forza, and Gears, but their respective favorite systems keeps making sequels to their hits. Another Uncharted? Sure! Another Mario? Yes!

Props to Turn 10. They have two racing series that keep raising the bar ahead of the rest.

But Uncharted is more popular than Gears

People don't really complain that they keep making sequels to those games its more about how they have nothing else and force their studios to do nothing else.

Yeah- but each of those games are passion projects to each of those studios. It's a false narrative. Turn 10 has zero ambition to build the next Halo and vice versa. Forza 7 doesn't look tired at all either. Rather it looks amazing. However GT Sport does look tired and behind the times. I can't imagine what the upgraded native 4k Horizon will look like either.

I think Matt on GAF hinted that MS had considered but ultimately passed on signing that game, and further hinted that the reason was because they couldn't find a way to adequately monetize it.

True. MS started strong. Been downhill ever since. But they did start strong.

p.s. Sorry about the triple post.

Hey Ms, How about making a good game that sells well and makes lots of money?
