The Xbox Onesie

and? I actually played both.. We know you haven't and I purchased the PS4 Pro version as it wasn't a major difference when I played both.
Softer of course its upscaling a non native image to a a native image.
It happens all the time with say 4 example 900p vs 1080p as 900p looks like a softer 1080p or 1080p looks like a sharper 900p. Nothing major and do you really think a 1800p image upscaled to 4K is going to net significant over a 1440p upscaled to 4K LOL?

I don't need to play both to immediately notice its noticeably softer. I have a 4k TV to see the video on, and even compressed I can tell there is a difference, which would be even more onscreen.

I'm in agreement with DF, its noticeably softer. No big deal.

DF didn't even compare the more recently patched versions.
Noticeably is a strong exaggeration. Actually in person it can be less of a difference because of the TV's upscaling and no not all TV's are created equal in this regard.

What did the recently ps4 pro patch version net an extra 150p sometimes? You're already saying that 4k and 1440p looks "near idientical", so why is an extra 150p going to matter?

DF made the claim from playing the game, not only can I tell on TV I can see the differences on my computer and TV, but you're saying its less in person, but somehow 150p from the new patch matters?

Yeah HDR needs to be implemented more with the X as Sony is dropping the ball in this regard with the Pro.

It's being done in all of their games and they have a bigger case to make for 3rd parties since all of their consoles support it. I think the issue is devs not making it a priority since most people don't have TV's with HDR. If you've purchased one in the last year you probably do unless it was a really cheap one but HDR only really became a common thing in TV's last year. When it was first introduced it was only in higher end expensive TV's and that really wasn't all that long ago. I can understand why most older games don't have HDR but it should be a standard feature from now on.

Surprised some of these are getting any upgrades, but its cool some are pushing high settings over sheer resolution.

That metro game will looks awesome, it reminds me of fallout/STALKER

Higher performance updates have been happening since the game launched.
Higher performance=less need to drop the resolution.
It matters

Well not enough games are taking advantage so Sony needs to flex some muscle.
Many new games are missing HDR.

Never mind the sometimes tiny res improvements some PS4 Pro patched games got, DF said some games run at worse performance.

I understand that.

But even at its absolute highest resolution which is just above 1600p its only a couple hundred pixels difference from 1440p You just said the difference between 1600p and 4k doesn't matter, its "near identical."

So it matters in the case of the patch(a couple hundred pixels) but not in the difference to 1600p to 4k(way more pixels)

Has anyone found a list of release dates for games coming this year? Some of those indie games looked especially cool/different.

Damn, I finally watched these 4k youtube vids on a 4k TV (I'm still waiting for my house to be done :( )!! It's like a whole extra layer of detail. It's been crazy to go from watching the 1080p vids to the 4k footage. That's a substantial difference. Looks sooooo good!

You are half a day late with the response I knew you chime in with.
Its not a large difference especially when comparing BF1 and TF2 to true 4K.
On the PC when we run lower resolutions in most games theirs not the scaling techniques(like CB) the Pro and X use.

So 1440p,1600p etc aren't the same fidelity as they are on the consoles the images at lower than 4K resolutions are made to simulate 4K in more than typical upscaling.

LOL@quite the difference man i feel psychic

When the best versions of multi-plats land on Xbox One X that's your exclusive right there. I'm more than happy to wait, got enough to keep me going. I still haven't touch Witcher 3, waiting for the X and the patch.

Not a chance. Scorpio will be very similar to the Pro at the end of the day. Most games will be fauxK or whatever the green teamers have been bashing the Pro for doing. Every first party game should be native 4K though. The console will have the power to do most games in native 4K but i just don't see most developers going out of their way to cater to Microsoft. It's PS2 vs. Xbox all over again.

Unless things change by the time the games being shown at E3 actually get released, your post was correct.

Comparison of GT sport and Forza 7:

Really wish people would shut up about visuals and give impressions on stuff that matter more...like Physics, or if the new Friction Assist is going to break online racing.

He's so emphatic with his hands, but he's obviously had a manicure in the past week, which I'd normally applaud, but he chews his nails and the manicurist overcompensated with this weird faux-man-french-tip.

Stop chewing your nails, and don't buff them to a Sheen! Matte base! Matte base!

Edit (in saying that, the blokes that were talking about that Ark dinosaur game, looked like they're jammed their fingers into a mincer. And why does everyone think that embroiding a f***ing logo on a black bowling shirt or a tee, is acceptable attire to wear on a stream!?!? Next E3, I need to pump my bitchery out.)

They've got other stuff coming, not just the newly signed stuff. Gamers are straight irrational sometimes. MS says nothing and suddenly it's they have no games. MS confirms they have new AAA exclusives are on the way - its not enough. Damned if they do, damned if they don't. smh

2 to 3 years away according to Phil.
