Titanfall 2 MP tech test 8/19

Saying it's like COD is laughable. BO3 ripped Titanfall, not the other way around. TTK has always been quick in TF as well.

I have mixed feelings. I miss the speed, the slide makes up for it a little but the grappling hook needs to be faster. I prefer old Attrition to Bounty. I'll need to play more to see if it clicks or not.

I liked TF1 a lot. Thus far I like TF2 better. I like that's it's been been slowed down.

I love you and all dude but that kinda worries me and it seems to be the trend. The people who didn't like the first one (or play it much) are loving this but the people who loved the game and played it to Gen10 aren't feeling it all. It has been dumbed down for a bigger audience and that makes me a sad panda.

I normally prefer a slower placed game, but Titanfall was an exception. I really don't like that they've slowed it down.

CoD has become too fast. This pace is slower than that and I think it's a good thing. The hectic nature CoD has become is, flat out, out of control.

This game is not COD. Or at least it shouldn't be. It was a fresh attempt at FPS mechanics and it was a critical success. Now it's a return to generic formula that is so disappointing I actually can't believe I'm that let down by a video game.

Could it be sped up a tad, sure, but not by much. I'm ok with the speed, but wouldn't be upset too much of its sped up just a bit.

I played this a bit and have the same opinion I had of TF1. It isn't bad but nothing about it pulls me in.

I could buy it and play it but honestly I don't see it taking time away from other games coming out this fall.

I got quick scoped by a pilot jumping in the air with the Kraber sniper. What happened to this game ? :-(

if you have EA Access, TF2 will probably be a free game about 6-8 months after it releases.

Every EA game has been offered in the vault, except Star Wars.

As for all the people saying TF is slow and can be sped up a bit, I agree. I can live with its existing form, but bumping up the foot speed 20-30% would work too.

Weird thing is how shooters have progressed.

CoD is the most popular shooter, but over the years it gets a touch faster each time. From a game where you walk/run slow and can only run about 15 ft before getting tired, it then morphed into marathon/lightweight. Now it's a touch faster and everyone has unlimited sprint and now jet pack boosting and wallrunning.

TF1 is basically BO3, but with even faster movement. But TF2 is slowing it down a notch.

So weird that both games have such a similar feel in terms of speed and gameplay mechanics (foot speed, sliding, jet pack boosts, wallrunning).

Finally played a round of this today and I enjoyed it, played bounty hunter and I really liked the way people weren't bullet sponges the way they can be in some other shooters. I don't know why they are releasing this so close to BF1 and COD though, they would probably be better off holding it off until early Spring 2017 IMO.

I don't expect COD to go anywhere this year...

How's it since they decreased the "time to Titan"?
I haven't tested Hardpoint again to notice. I played it last night, but didn't notice anything. I think that was the mode they said would get faster earning titans.

For Hardpoint, I don't think that would make a difference. The problem with that mode isn't the time to titan. It's that the 2 maps are way too big for 6 vs 6 gameplay with A, B, C capture points.

Lots of people don't like it. They don't appreciate the fact they have to EARN their Titan through performance instead of being guaranteed one via timer. They see it as CODified. A kill streak. But I don't see it any differently than the first one. Takes just as long to get a Titan for me and I'm never in one for more than a minute which is just as long as TF1.

Well said.

Even if Respawn made earning titans twice as fast as currently, it would still require someone going out and earning it. And TF fans don't seem to like it.

Yeah, mechs are fun and such, but I don't get why any gamer in a shooter wants a "free killstreak" like this. It's like playing CoD and even if you sit in a corner all game doing nothing, you still get to call chopper gunner. And every other gamer also gets their two free chopper gunners per match. A good gamer will do enough to earn a third or fourth chopper, but even the worst gamer who goes 0-15 still gets two.

Shooter fans typically don't like killstreaks and such, but can live with it (CoD), but TF is probably the only game out there where lots of people expect free mechs, which is like a free killstreak perk.

It also looks like no burn cards, so no starting titan at -40/-80 second timer or anything like that either.

This was my first time playing TF and honestly I had no problem having to earn my Titan, I had no idea that's not how it was done in the first game.

After playing it some more. I enjoy it, its just the flow is different from TF1. I played a few matches of TF1 to compare and I prefer they way 1 flows to 2. I like some of the changes but 1 has a more controlled frantic pace if you know what you're doing.

It was on a timer in 1 but you could decrease it based on performance.

I was just playing some and having a great time. Feel like there is more depth. I don't mind the slightly sliwer pace. Not getting the dumbed down comments. Seems deeper to me. I also like the teamwork encouragement with Titans and Pilots. I actually enjoy hitching a ride and fighting from Titan back.

Well a Titan isn't a crazy overpowered COD killstreak and call me crazy but Titanfall should have some Titans. Plus I don't recall that ever being a complaint from anyone in the first game.

There is a reason nobody played Pilot vs Pilot in the first game

I played PVP because I honestly was no good in a Titan.

But I'm having a Hella good time on Bounty Hunt.

I don't know about you guys but I find doing a melee attack in a titan pretty satisfying.

It's over. Until Friday. Higher level cap. New weapons. New map. Can't wait.

because it promotes camping and less aggressive play

and titans arent supposed to be rewards.. they are part of the game, the first game split the matches in half, first half is pilotVpilot and then second half titans came into play.. the game is called titanfall afterall..

and this isnt just about not being able to get it.. when you do get it not many others have it so there isnt many, if any, titans to fight..
