Official Thread Titanfall 2

So I've been looking to see if other people online are having a hard time against Legion. Evidently there are people saying he's OP, but then you get people coming in and saying that titans are hero classes and it's like rock paper scissors and some titans are good against some titans and other bad against them. However, when you ask them what titan counters Legion, you get crickets.

Re-establish: definition of "shortcut."

Saw that in a loading screen. I laughed way too hard.

Yeah, they just straight screwed up titans. Weak and unbalanced.

Nice to see more companies taking up the dynamic resolution.

I think Respawn missed a trick here. Instead of chasing the COD crowd they could have carved out their own niche. The Titans should be the stars of the show with customisable weapons, load outs and levelling up etc. The role of the pilots should be to pilot the Titans (obviously), stealth take downs and hijacking of enemy Titans.

I am enjoying the game and its fun with friends. I will say I suck when im a titan and need to work on that, I feel forced to use Legion to even last a few minutes, the other ones I am dead super quick. I want to like the fast one with the sword but I die so fast.

It's all about hit and run with the Ronin. Don't engage directly against a heavier class Titan. Also the balancing on the Titans is pretty bad.

Sounds like the game isn't as bad as first thought. Just a bunch of Xbox fanboys upset that it went to PS4 and that Respawn said green discs are ugly. Nothing to see here.

Lol, I'm assuming this is troll bait, but to respond seriously I was a big hater of the game but I am really coming around. I actually traded in Mafia 3 to buy this because the MP has me hooked.

The problem with the game, outside of balancing issues, continues to be the fact that it's a Titanfall sequel. Because as a sequel the design decisions are equally confusing and frustrating.

It's a really good game on its own, but a very poor sequel if that makes any sense.

I haven't played it so i don't know. Was a big fan of the first game. I just heard guys like Crap and Mooch, the two biggest Xbox guys on the web bash Respawn and Titanfall 2 for months. Saying it was too slow and whatever and that they catered to PS4 fans. Then there was the uproar over Respawn tweeting out a pic of the PS4 disc when Microsoft had marketing rights. It seemed like half the downfall of the game was just fanboy politics to me, that's all.

Good game, but some stupid things:

- Going from game to game is hit and miss with a party. Sometimes it bombs out, sometimes it works to the next match, but either way the lobby of players you played against doesn't carry over
- When inviting gamers to a match, the gamers invited can only see the invite box on the main MP screen. If they are in another menu (they are checking their classes or settings), they don't see the invite box. The invite box only lasts 10 seconds too
- No stats aside from Kills and Wins. Detailed stats will come in a future update. EA/Respawn never told people that until after launch. The servers supposedly have tracked all stats so when the update happens full stats are supposed to appear
- For a game with big maps and anywhere from I think 5 vs 5 to 8 vs 8 pilots, some awful spawns. I can understand this in a cramped 6 vs 6 CoD map like Dome, but sometimes you spawn right near an enemy, or an enemy spawn right in your eyes
- Quite possibly the shooter with the most accurate guns with almost zero recoil. And I thought recent CoDs were bad. Despite large maps, use an SMG or AR. The recoil/accuracy at med/long range is as good as an LMG. Skip LMGs, as the rate of fire for SMG/AR is much faster
- There's a level 23 unlock called Map Hack. It's a UAV for the team. Don't think there is a way to counter it... but might be wrong

Played TF1 today. Fuking game is just fun on steroids. Always moving, scrambling. Titans are just daunting - makes it very satisfying when you take one down. Had no problem getting into games so the community is still lurking. That's a bonus. As long as people continue to rock TF1 I may keep to it for a while longer yet. No rush to nab TF2. That could change if the DLC for it paints a different picture than the current.

Beat the SP campaign last night, and really enjoyed it all. Fun and well-paced. Also the best ending credit stuff I think I've seen yet. I will say no more.

Now to get rocked in some MP.

Yeah the single player is fantastic!

Single player so far is great. Many things ideas I've never seen before like the huge production facility.

Some of the meta on this game is very very annoying. Lately I've been running into entire teams who all run with map hack. They coordinate so there is almost no down time on it. So for a majority of the game, the whole team knows exactly where you are. Wouldn't be so bad if the whole team didn't get the benefit from just one person using it, or if it worked how it worked in Titanfall one, where it would just show their dot on the radar, but this is pretty ridiculous. As near as I know, there is no way to counter it either.

The double barrel sub-machine gun needs a bit of a nerf on accuracy as well. That thing stays 100% accurate off the hip and does massive damage. I'm getting a little sick of a subbie runner snipping me off the hip from 100 yards away.

I know I've already said this already, but Legion needs some tweaking. It seems like the other team always has at least 5 people who haven them because their damage output is so stinking high and they have tons of health and that gun shield.

Maps are, on a whole, a lot smaller than Titanfall 1. Titan fights are always in super tight places with no where to manuver. You could probably squeeze 2-3 of these maps into Demiter from Titanfall 1.

Sorry for the rant, but the core game play is so.much fun that I really hope they get some.of this sorted out. My frustrations have been making me want to go back to BF1 at times at times.

It's definitely not as balanced as the first one.

Game is what Titanfall should of been and to top it off its gorgeous and smooth.

If transformers, avatar, crysis and uncharted had a baby that was raised by cod parents...it be this game.

It looks and plays well. No doubt about that. But it is certainly not what the game should have been. Its a big step backwards. it was a mistake to chase to COD community. They should have concentrated on building their own community.

Strongly disagree on this game taking any step backwards.
Chasing cod is another thing and I don't see how they aren't concentrating on making there own community???
We all have opinions and we are entitled to them. I call this 2016's best shooter but sadly it might end up as the sleeper hit of the year.

This is the problem with this game. You didn't play the first one outside a a couple of hours here and there. You didn't like it for a few different reasons. And that's all fine. But given you didn't play the first one that much because you didn't like it's only an improvement to you. Too thousands of players who loved the first one, this game is a major step in the wrong direction and original community feels alienated from the game. You're right in that we're all entitled to comment and opinion. It's just unfortunate that the game now appeals to those who didn't have a high opinion of it in the first place at the expense of those who did.

My issue is that the first game also received great reviews (and impressions). But...it just didn't have legs. I actually stopped playing it 3 - 4 days in. I think my main problem was that it felt a bit repetitive and I remember it almost had no learning curve. Just a couple of games in and you're good to go.

This one does look good and the SP is a nice plus. I just wish I could rent it (no such options in my country) to try it out! They should give us a Multiplayer demo like a weekend thing.

Not sure how you got that impression. The skill curve on this game is HUGE! One of the good thing about Titanfall was that you could pick it up and play it without much difficulty, but mastering it was a whole other story. It has a drastically higher ceiling that the vast majority of shooters out there. Check out some of FrothyOmens YouTube videos and let me know if when you were playing it was anything close to that.

Here is a random Titanfall 2 one

Here's one of his first how too videos.

What are you talking about? I had the game physical sold it,repurchased it and had the season pass before it became free...plus played it on the PC. So wth are you talking about with this few hours b.s?? TF pales in comparison to TF2 and everyone I talk to about the game thinks this way outside of here and the butt hurt Xbox biased polygon site.

No legs! It had great ideas but lacked much.
Part 2 is what one should have been and in the long term will keep more active players because of this.

Graphics, sound, framerate, and level of customization are better. Maps are subjective but I thought T1 had about a equal amount of very good, good, and terrible. We will see how T2's playout. Attrition feels more like or a war zone than in T1 which was a defining characteristic. To no surprise I enjoyed T1 more when I learned how to dominate at times.

No legs? The game is still a hit among many gamers. You can still catch a game - right now. No problem. And part 2 isnt making as big of a splash as anticipated. In fact, a lot of the forums are saying it's a step backwards, not forwards. TF1 sold more on X1 than TF2 on Xbox and PS4 combined. I get you like it. That's cool - great to hear. But to those who rocked TF1 a plenty, TF2 isn't even being considered a proper sequel. I'm probably going to wait for TF3, personally .

Not many people play it anymore.
Its SUPER swallow in unlocks, abilites, weapons etc.
If you consider yourself such a huge TF fan than you wouldn't pass on this game.
When/if you buy it you will see what the hype is all about.
Don't ever bring sales as a point because most of what you play don't sell well.
Bottom line... cough up the money and try it.
