Uncharted 4

I don't really think holiday releases mean so much anymore so I'm glad it was delayed instead of being forced to make a time frame that wasn't going to work for the dev team. Consoles sell better during the holidays no matter what games are being released, Sony didn't have a huge exclusive last holiday either but they still had the highest selling console globally over that time period and they were also the most expensive. I would guess this year there is likely to be some kind of price drop so that should help as well. When you look at 2015 overall they'll have had as many or more 1st party games released as the competition they just weren't all crammed into the same 3 month window.

Oh well. Naughty Dog should be able to hit 1080p/60fps easily with the extra development time. Uncharted 4 is likely the last game in the franchise so they might as well make sure it's the best it can be.

Game sales during holiday are massive though. Just like console sales. Holiday is indeed crucial. But spreading out games, at least IMO,is crucial for us gamers. UC4 delay to me as a gamer is a good thing. More polish and a hobby that lasts all year every year.

PS4 may not have the heavy hitters for this year but the year has just begun. We can still get a bunch of surprises.

This is just dumb, this was the one game I was really looking forward to this year on ps4

Anyone saying PS4 has nothing coming this year is wording it wrong, what they should be saying is there isn't anything that appeals to them personally coming this year. PS4 has plenty of exclusives coming out while the competition has very little until the last couple of months of the year and who knows if those titles are all truly coming out in the fall? I doubt it to be honest.

Idk, if you look at just multiplatforms, there are tons coming out for both anyway, more than enough time to spend, but that's not the reason we buy consoles. I could buy a OUYA and be occupied for months.

The big name games like UC is what makes PS a brand, not these little indies, maybe cumulatively its a nice bonus, but ps2 didn't have any indies, it didn't need them, now were are whittled down to defending the PS with indies, which is sad. What's worse is the attitude that its ok, I would wager some of you would defend sony if they only had a single 1st party game all year, "but those indies" ok that's great.

Fall 2014 was absolute trash even with UC4 before, that was the only small light in the dark I was looking forward to, now I need to start googling all these other games I've never heard of that might be good. I didn't need to even worry about UC.

The Order, Bloodborn and MLB The Show will all be out in the first half of the year and there is still Until Dawn and maybe even something announced at E3. Those aren't little indie titles, and while I agree with you that most of us don't buy consoles for indie games it's not really fair to ignore 4 first party games coming out from Sony just because they are coming out in the spring/summer instead of the fall.

Its just a terrible lineup for me personally, nothing more. UC4 I have been very vocal about as being THE saving grace for sony, and now its pushed back. I will still try bloodbourne despite not being a DS fan and trying many times.

ND got a look at The Order and said.. "nah.. we gotta delay this game so we can make it comparable!" :p

Sony's 1st party spent too much time on PS3 in 2013. All of these were 2013 games.

The Last of Us
God of War: Ascension
Gran Turismo 6
Beyond: Two Souls
Ratchet & Clank: Into the Nexus
Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time
Hot Shots Golf: World Invitational
Puppeteer
Rain
Ni No Kuni (3rd party exclusive)
Tales of Xillia (3rd party exclusive)

All of those on PS4 would have made a pretty strong 1st-2nd year lineup, even if they looked like upressed PS3 games. No offense to any PS3 owners.

TLOU was ported to PS4 but is often excluded as a "last gen port lolol". The Last of Us launched in mid 2013 by the same team now working on Uncharted 4. There wasn't enough time to go from launching TLOU, porting it to PS4, and then making Uncharted 4 in time for late 2015.

Santa Monica Studio had a big cancellation, recently moved their entire office, and were preoccupied with God of War: Ascension.

I hope that explains PS4's 1st and 2nd year lineups and Uncharted 4's delay.

Consolewarz comez to save the day!!!

Yep, any line up that has a Godzilla game saves the day, lol.
Plus, we have 3 ports, no line up is complete without ports.
Plus, we a have flop in the Order, and a predominately American game in MLB.
Plus, as best I can tell, Ratchet & Clank is a port of sorts. Not actually a new game, more like a re-imagining of the Original.

Cutting out all the fun & games and being serious for a minute, the line up is pretty pitiful. Even with the inclusion of released or soon to be games, this year for the PS4 is weak. Very weak.

I am sure I will get the usual replies calling me a fanboy, but even the most hardened Playstation nut knows deep down that it is weak.

So much for an uncharted thread. Consolewarz turns this into a list war.

Fact is the devs said the game needs more time in the oven. Games seem more broken than ever this gen. I for one will wait for a solid release.

The time is ripe for Steam to come into the living room with their machines and hand out a beatdown.

I just love the fact that people get pissed and all fired up over a developer holding back to better their game. Disappointment that your not gonna play it sooner yes, hatred, vitriol and pitchfork waving I've never understood. Everyone complains about the half baked and broken games that seem to be the norm...

I have Comet DLC on Destiny to hold me over till then, I'm good. Hope they announce some other titles to be released at Fall/Christmas 2015.

...and yet the PS4 lineup will score significantly better than the XBO on aggregate sites like MetaCritic and GameRankings.

Indies get high scores, that's not saying much. They have less expected of them. On the exclusive retail side that remains to be seen, The Order didn't start out on the best foot.

Thanks for the reminder that sony used to push 1st party games

People were asking in this thread what PS4 had for 2015, that isn't a "list war". Of course a liar and troll would get upset when a more complete PS4 release list is posted, it's more work to downplay, omit, and deny all those exclusive games.

Sony WWS is larger than ever and their output is almost solely focused on PS4. Their best studios (ND, SSM) launched big games in 2013 (Last of Us, GoW Ascension) which is why it's taking them a few years to produce another.

Ratchet & Clank is an AAA Insomniac game with a movie tie-in. It's a re-imagining of the first game's story with redesigned levels, all new assets, etc. It's not a port. Two different Insomniac Games studios are working on it according to the link.

Until Dawn is an AA game afaik. Supermassive has around 90 employees, not huge but not indie sized.

MLB 15: The Show is AAA.

Toukiden: Kiwami AA monster hunter type game with tons of content.

Tearaway Unfolded AA. They're putting a lot of work into updating it for PS4 with larger world, more content, and new mechanics.

Dragon Quest Heroes is AAA.

Persona 5, Godzilla, J-STARS Victory VS+, Omega Quintet, Disgaea 5, One Piece: Pirate Warriors 3, and Onechanbara Z2: Chaos are somewhere between indie and AA. It's hard to tell with mid-sized Japan studios.

Big surprise that this thread is flooded with posters only here to spread blind hate and ignorance.

Wow, so half of those games listed aren't even AAA. Weak...

Funny just pre ordered the game off amazon this morning. I'm fine with a delay long as it makes the game better or keeps it at the level they want. Don't rush this s*** yo make it great.

I'm fine with making the game better, but when its your only AAA in the fall and your going against Halo, TR, and Forza its confusing. I know they won't have anything else either because sony always lets the cat out of the bag early.

Forza isn't that big of a big deal, racing games don't move many consoles and it remains to be seen if both Halo and TR make it out on time, a delay for one of them wouldn't surprise me.

Naughty Dog has a pretty stellar record and especially after TLOU I think they've earned the right to take as long as they need.

Hmm Forza is a first party game though. Its not so much about a console mover as offering more choices.

I think one game will be moved, but you also have to remember QB. I really doubt we see 2 delays when we haven't hardly seen any from MS.

You never know, after the botched launch of the MCC they may be a bit more gun shy about rushing a product out that's not ready. And like I said before Sony will have 4 exclusives out before MS even has one out so the only difference is really the time of year they are being sold vs the quantity of releases. Tomb Raider is also pretty much a given to come to PS4 next year and a lot of people are aware of that so it may not mean all that much in the long run for MS to have it as a timed exclusive.

Both companies will sell a lot of consoles simply because it'll be the holiday period so I'm not sure how much not having a AAA 1st party title in that release window really hurts Sony and they still have room to introduce a price cut which will probably be a bigger deal than a game release.

I keep having to tell myself sony has retail exclusives, that baseball game and the puzzle game I keep forgetting.
