Yeah, I hate having games I own get improvements. For those of us that like to keep and replay our games- that's a great benefit. People are not excited for these improvements at the loss of excitement for new games. It's not a zero sum situation. Acting like new games aren't being released is frakkin' stupid. I've got more games than I know what to do with. But hey, you wanna be a jaded joy-sucker- you do you, I guess...

You never hear anything like this with other mediums such as movies and music. WTF is wrong with gamers?

That's really funny. Being that I'm in the HVAC field. I did a side job for a friend of mine this past weekend. Cleared about 1k cash on it . Told my better half , I only charged him 500. Lol. She will never know .

I'm actually surprised that this is selling out this quickly. Amazon, walmart, gamestop, bestbuy, microsoftstore...all sold out of pre-orders. I think Target still has em?

Funny thing is both old and new games are getting upgraded, nobody loses lol. Now if they'd just upgrade the original Ori.

I would be surprised if stock wasn't so limited, there also seems to be a lot of enthusiasm from standard X1 owners to upgrade. I wonder if they'll replenish the stock right away? maybe doing this "scorpio edition" wasn't such a good idea if it's going to cause supply issues. Honestly for me I couldn't care less if there is some extra printing on the machine or not, I was totally fine with how the console looked to begin with.

We've been wanting to upgrade since launch.

I'm not sure how to define 'limited' (obviously only a limited number would be available for now, but what actual number is 'limited?').
According to Jez from WindowsCentral.com, who is at Gamescom, MS thought they released enough pre-orders to last at least a full week. So so far it is beyond even their expectations.
I'm sure quite a few of those are people who have skipped out on Xbox this gen thus far due to the power difference, and are now coming back.
After that group and the usual group of early adopters, it'll be curious to see how it sells. Luckily they have some of their bigger games coming in the Spring.
