Xbox One X

This can't be good news even though we may think the opposite....

I'm not sure how to define 'limited' (obviously only a limited number would be available for now, but what actual number is 'limited?').
According to Jez from WindowsCentral.com, who is at Gamescom, MS thought they released enough pre-orders to last at least a full week. So so far it is beyond even their expectations.
I'm sure quite a few of those are people who have skipped out on Xbox this gen thus far due to the power difference, and are now coming back.
After that group and the usual group of early adopters, it'll be curious to see how it sells. Luckily they have some of their bigger games coming in the Spring.

My gamestop only got 16 and that was more than any other store in the area got, Frozpot said his store only got 11. To compare, the PS4 at my local store had well over 150 on day one and they had 30 PS4 Pro's all of which were pre-ordered. I think honestly the biggest chunk of sales for the X1X by far will be current X1 owners who are upgrading. Many of my friends were 360 players and switched to the PS4, out of all of us I'm the only one buying a One X. I'm not basing my thoughts on just that though but really I think there is more incentive for X1 owners to upgrade than there are people who are on PS4 and are already invested in that ecosystem.

I think this situation will be the opposite of what the Pro was for Sony. You have people coming from the "weakest" console able to upgrade to the strongest vs people who already had the strongest at the time upgrading to something better with the Pro. Sony said something like 40% of people who bought the Pro were new customers, I think the situation will be different for the One X at least for the first couple of years. I think what you'll get mostly is X1 owners upgrading and a smaller portion of people like me buying it who skipped on the X1 but are buying the One X, I don't think it'll be anywhere near 40% especially at $500.

Being that we aren't getting any exclusive games with these upgraded consoles it's hard to make the case to people who aren't only into "4K" that they are worth the cost, especially when they are fairly expensive. Hardcore gamers like us here are an easier sell than people who are fine with playing the same games on a lesser platform.

Bit premature to be disappointed, I'd say. Ive never found their site to be particularly useful for info. I mean, he knows that Tomb Raider is getting updates and is not listed, so it's pretty clear the list is incomplete for whatever reason...

I'm actually surprised that this is selling out this quickly. Amazon, walmart, gamestop, bestbuy, microsoftstore...all sold out of pre-orders. I think Target still has em?

Thanks, I didn't even know they were available for pre-order - Amazon was supposed to notify me but they didn't. Just ordered from Target so appreciate the tip they were still available there!

Forza Motorsport 7 in 4K will need a 1080 or Vega 64 to run smoothly

Why it matters to you

Forza Motorsport 7 will be pretty, but you won't need a monster system just to be able to play it.

Forza Motorsport 7 will require a hefty PC to run at ultra settings at 4K resolution, with Turn 10 recommending top-of-the-line graphics cards and processors for that level of detail. But if you can’t afford the latest and greatest hardware, don’t fret, the game will be compatible with a variety of different systems, even running at 720p on systems using on board graphics.

The Forza games have a history of stunning graphics and the upcoming Forza Motorsport 7 is no exception. If you want to run it at full tilt you will need an impressive system. To help out those looking to upgrade before its release in October, Turn 10 released the recommended specifications for targeted resolutions, frame rates, and detail levels at Gamescom 2017.

If you just want to sneak in under the barrier for entry, you can do so with something as simple as an Ultrabook with an Intel Core i5-6200 CPU, 8GB of RAM and on-board Intel HD 520 or better graphics. You will be unlikely to have anything but minimum graphics settings, nor hit a frame rate higher than 30 regularly, but you can at least view it at 720p resolution.

For those on a low-end desktop, you can achieve similar results with a Core i5-750, or AMD FX-6300 CPU, with 8GB of RAM and either a GT 740 or R7 250X. None of that hardware is new or expensive, so most shouldn’t have difficulty meeting that mark.

If you want the game to look a little prettier, you could go for what Turn 10 describes as “recommended.” There you’ll be gaming at 1080p at 60 frames per second, but you will need some heftier hardware to do it. You’ll need at least a Core i5-4460 or FX 8350 CPU, paired up with 8GB of RAM and a GTX 1050Ti or RX 560.

For those who want to see the game at its best, you’ll be able to enjoy it at 4K resolution at 60 FPS if you have the following or equivalent hardware. A Core i7-6700K or Ryzen 7 CPU, with 16GB of RAM and a GTX 1080 or RX Vega 64 graphics card.

Whatever detail level you’re looking to play the new Forza at, though, don’t forget that as one of the largest games ever made, you’ll need at least 100GB of install space for it. That doesn’t even begin to factor in DLC, so if you’re running an older, smaller SSD, make sure you clear some space for it.

You never hear anything like this with other mediums such as movies and music. WTF is wrong with gamers?
You do hear it actually. People are always complaining about reboots and remakes...and having 15 versions of a movie.

They couldn't wash their hands before unboxing hardware that isn't even released yet? I take better care of stuff I'm about to take photos of, in order to sell it in eBay.
Difference is you are not buying the console in the pics, you are buying a brandnew one. So who gives a s***?

Didn't one of their technical guys give a sort of vague answer when asked about that? I think he said it "kind of does" or something like that.
I haven't seen that, but "kind of does" means no in my book.

Yeah now that youtube can support HDR it'd be nice if they were able to get consoles to record the footage in HDR as well, it's still nice that it can do 4K and 60 fps though.

I want to know if Vudu,Netflix(I assume yes) and Amazon will run 4K/HDR....
This could end up as the ultimate box if so.

My buddy is into his 4k ultra experience and I was around in his place the other day. Netflix do some shows in ultra 4K, mostly natural history kind of stuff. There is an awesome show about some volcano in the Pacific. But the interesting thing is, you need a very high bandwidth capable router for getting the full 4K experience if you are using Netflix over wireless. Something I hadn't considered before he showed me it.
