Xbox One X

37 days till greatness.... trading in my One S next Sunday and having a month of cold turkey...

I couldn't do that when the Pro came out, I kept my PS4 until the day after I got the Pro. I transferred my games over and then took it in and traded it for PSN cards.

Seems silly to keep both my current Xbox's but when so little is given for the OG Xbox One, might as well keep it as a glorified set top box for another room. I'll now have 3 in my house.

I took a month off between the 360 and X1 and doing the same now. It is in my mind the start of a new generation of gaming. With this release, the console market has changed forever....I note that Nintendo is getting in on this with rumours around of a new suped-up base station on the horizon for the Switch.

So on Sunday I will trade in and relax in the knowledge that when I pick the One X up I am will be playing all my current games and new ones on the most powerful console yet released.

**only thing that stops this is waiting for the rollback from Alpha to stock OS which is going to be mega painful**

Strongly considering just buying a second TV for my living room. Is that ridiculous or normal?

I've done it in the past with two 360's... this time I have less central outlets at my home though than the apartment I had before.

I'm selling my OG Xbox One, keeping the S and moving to the BR TV and slotting the X1X into the LR with the 4K Tv. I figure I can get $150 - $175 for my OG Xbox One/2 controllers/1 TB external HDD/2 games. I'd try to sell it unless you really need a STB in another room. You should be able to get at lest $125 for it with a controller and maybe a game...nothing to sneeze at.

This will be the 3rd xb1 in my home and I have 3 boys and a nephew that lives next door. So yeah I need 2 more...

I feel you. My son is always in the den on the 4k TV where I want to be. One of the reasons I got him a Switch for Xmas...I can't imagine 3 boys AND a nephew next door....hope you got a man cave!

I *think* I had mentioned this before, but it looks like NiOh may come to Xbox, or the very least PC.

Rumor for now, but gaining traction quickly.

Shame. I didn't bother switching to the S because Scorpio was announced at the same show so I'm missing out for not jumping early.

Things cost £40 now so ill just pack my Kinect back up next month.

Yes the cave is located next to the beer garden. What really makes me laugh is the 4 year old insists he can only game on the best setup.... I would have given a leg for a B&W 13" and the latest console...

Ha, my kid is now 8 so very discerning about his gaming image quality...pfft. He is stoked for the Minecraft 4K update and thus will probably hog my 4K TV as a result. He also plays the f*ck out of Roblox on the Xbox but his tablet is way overdue for a refresh and most games run like a$$ on it so I'll have to spend even more $$$. My dream is to have man cave with a god damn lock on the door!

Yeah, my boy is Nine. I want to get the 4k graphic update for the X JUST so I can use it to control his behavior! I will allow him to use my One S, but I need to get a TV he can play it on. I've two others, but they aren't in places suitable to hook a box up to ( one over the fireplace and another outside on the porch wall).

I wish my nine year old, non-verbal autistic son with an overall developmental age of two showed interest in gaming on the TV or any activity for longer than 45 seconds for that matter.

Perspective is everything. Be thankful if they are healthy. :)

So, my One S journey back to the stock OS happened today. I am going to take the old girl in on Sunday and enjoy that month's grace I have been bleating on about....

Can't wait for the 7th Nov and switching on to 4K :)

Don't think this got enough press amongst the gaming media and Xbox fans. I think this is a very big deal. My biggest concern about investing in the Xbox ecosystem the past 2 years was whether all those rumors of Microsoft selling would come true. This, to line up with a new console launch, squash that. This means Nadella sees value in gaming and is a sign Xbox will invest in differentiating their brand again. This probably means a better Windows store and more innovation into the overall ecosystem. The 1st/2nd party game investments will turn up. If all those things don't happen, this promotion wouldn't make sense.

It is big since he's reporting directly to Nadella and not to the middle man.
