It has HDR?
nope
I never said HDR. It has a good balance of smoothness and high resolution and texture work.

Halo 5 uses a lot of tricks to run at 60fps and it shows. At times it's dog ugly.
Current high end looking games use HDR.I never said HDR. It has a good balance of smoothness and high resolution and texture work.
Current high end looking games use HDR.
Also H5 textures look like upscaled XBO textures.
You already know I disagree with that.I think it has some of the best texture work in modern games. That's my opinion.

I am going to leave it be and yes I do own it(bought it 2 times) and have seen it on the X.
Halo 5 does indeed benefit from HDR televisions. Halo 5 was too late to make full HDR, but 343 was still able to pull some HDR tricks with it.It is what it is, I'm not going to be convinced otherwise. I honestly wouldn't care if you thought a ps1 game looked better. Whatever you want.
Apparently the game is still broke. So fix it first!Looking forward to hearing about the X enhancements to the MCC this E3. Supposedly it's out this summer. I'd like to revisit the classics someday in 4K/HDR, especially that first game.

Screenshots actually don't tell the whole story when it comes to H5. It's like the ground looks odd at times or some objects will pop in as you get close, or enemy animations from a distance are choppy.Find me a single screenshot of the X version that's "dog ugly."
I don't expect Halo 6 will suffer from any of this seeing as how Halo 5 was being built with new hardware and all.

.
I dunno cause it still has to run on that old anchor.
I do expect it to look better but it will either give up true 4k or 60fps in the process.
Well they can't go back now. I do agree we never *needed* 60fps and I also would choose 30fps locked and maxed out graphics (the route God of War 4 took) over 60. But I'm not sure if they could make that decision after MCC release. It would have been strange to introduce Halo @60fps in Halo 1-4 then go to Halo 5 at 30fps.If they focus on 60fps for the campaign the visuals aren't going to change much IMO. I don't think the campaign needed to be 60fps anyway, nobody ever really complained about the others being 30fps, I'd much rather they pushed the visuals in the single player mode and left the 60fps for MP. I know you are big on 60fps but 30 can still feel very good, Destiny 1 & 2 for all of their issues feel just fine at 30fps.

Also would have been strange to NOT have MCC run at 60fps because the horsepower was there. So it is what it is. I'm hoping Halo 6 goes beyond our expectations and visually blows us away. I think some of us have halo fatigue, especially when it comes to the SP campaign, so maybe even switching up the art direction and an interesting narrative would help.
That would be in that mode not a reason to mess with the non split screen visuals/performance.With split screen support in Halo 6, expect compromise.
Halo fatigue but Halo 5 is 3 years old and Halo 6 won't be out until next year. 4 years ain't long enough?!Well they could, if you really want to maximize what the X brings it's graphics not 60fps. They could easily go back to 30fps for the campaign and 60fps for the MP. I agree about Halo fatigue though, plus the last two campaigns haven't been anywhere near as good as the older games so that doesn't help.
I'm ready for more Halo .Halo fatigue but Halo 5 is 3 years old and Halo 6 won't be out until next year. 4 years ain't long enough?!

The control changes in halo 5 are drastic and actually quite ballsy for a flagship series. It walks the razors edge of old and new. They doubled the framerate, resulting in some risky pacing changes. The Map is fantastic. It's one of the best controlling games out there. It needs to iron out a few things in SP, and focus on more dev made maps for MP and it will be great.Halo 5 isn't quite 3 years old yet but the bottom line is that was the 8th Halo FPS game released (counting MCC) since the series started in 2001, yes fatigue sets in over time. It doesn't help that the last two games had mediocre campaigns. Other series make fairly drastic changes, COD has gone from WW2 to modern time, to the future and back to WW2, Battlefield has gone through several significant changes yet Halo has only done minor things and even some of those were said to be misfires. It's sort of boxed in a bit more than those series are so it's going to be tougher to navigate what changes they can make and still be considered a Halo game by the hardcore fans but going by the fact that Halo 5 sales are significantly lower than the previous games either means people didn't like it as much or fatigue is setting in.
Halo is an ongoing epic! Like Star Wars. Masterchief is iconic and people actually WANT to be in Master Chiefs shoes, so long as the story holds up.
