We know of at least 2 (4 if you count MLB and Driveclub) but unlike MS they haven't announced most of what they have coming out for the next two years. The big deal this year is going to be the Halo 2 remake (if the rumors are true) and Forza Horizon 2 (again if the rumors are true) along with sunset overdrive but we haven't seen one bit of gameplay from that one yet, so I don't know that one really has an advantage over the other in terms of announced (and rumored) exclusives this year.
I do think MS will have better exclusive this year. However, Sony exclusive ain't too bad, beside, at least for me, Thief & Witcher 3 are my most anticipate games this year.

lol @ MS. They decided to hold off the X1 in some countries like The Netherlands, Belgium etc... just so they can stuff the US market full and hope to keep close behind PS4 and even after all that they get ass beat. Serves them right for all the abuse since E3. Japan will put the cherry on top next week. Thank God SONY was present lol i can just imagine MS getting away with DRM and the 24 hour Bulls***. LOL u guys think it's because gamers cried they put it away .... Sony saved us lol.

Microsoft will have the best games line up this year, Im almost certain of that. Also, even if the XBO isnt quite as popular than its competition, at least they're still in the race. At this point though, I wouldnt change a thing they've done thusfar as going backwards on the price or Kinect would be simply to bleed out. The media and MS haters are already hovering around like vultures. Microsoft needs to stick to the vision and make it work. Thats really all they can do.

Are these 2:1 figures accurate?

They should keep Kinect, at this point splitting the user base would defeat it's purpose and only hurt Kinects chances in the future. I think a better idea would be, is to have a minor price drop say 5% or 10% and have a pack in game with 3 months of XBL. Put a code in the box which allows to choose one from a list of games such as Ryse,DR3,Fifa,BF,Forza and TF.

The technical issue is something MS are going to have to work hard to get over, and I'm sure they will with the recent news of a new SDK and improved drivers coming out.

These numbers can't be true cause the Sony lot still claim you haven't been able to buy a PS4 for months. ;)

Its funny seeing people act all doom and gloom. This gen has still just started.

And it's still hard to buy.

Nothing has changed. Hence why they sold so much. No one said there weren't any PS4s....they said stock were selling as soon as they came in.

Updated.

Complete spectrum of NPD January hardware sales:

PS4: 271K
XB1: 141K
3DS: 97K
PS3: 53.5K
Wii U: 49K
360: 48.5K
Vita: 17K

Translation:

PS4: Doing well
XB1: Worrisome
3DS: Dying
PS3: Dead
WiiU: Dead
360: Dead
Vita: Funeral was held years ago move on

Stolen from GAF.

BTW PS4 alone outsold the entire Xbox One/360 family last month by almost 100K.

I cannot see anything than a distant second, worldwide if this trend continue, & MS do not make any drastic action. The one thing I worry about is sharholders using the market share trend as a fuel to pull down XBOX division.

haha, that funny & sad at the same time. Looking even worst if you considered this is NA. I think that is also with PS4 having available stock issues (or I could be wrong).

Imagine the chart for other places.

Spain was like 5:1, & Germany 2.5:1 last checked, & thats is with PS4 being sold out practically since launch in germany as least (& XBOX one is available since launch).

I think MS biggest problem right now are the suits at that run it.... Using analytics to be a trend follower and not the trend setter.

Menace made a good point in another thread about how MS will spend huge amounts of money for a small slice of the pie and they are doing it now with XBO.

It's still not possible to get a PS4 in the Netherlands unless u have a pre-order, Friends who pre-ordered in December are being told they will get it around the end of this month and free retail won't start untill mid-march. :O

As a multi-console owner my only concern is that next gen consoles get a large enough install base so developers can start focusing more effort into games for it. EA skipped nextgen for their world cup game, Titanfall and other titles are cross gen dipping, and both companies are weak with new demos/freebies.

Does anyone have an idea what lifetime sales numbers these new consoles need to achieve for that to happen? Im guessing around 10-15 mill?

Also, forgetting about the sales disparity for a minute...are those sales numbers for X1 considered "bad" for a new $500 toy in a historically bad month for sales? I thought these new consoles were tracking ahead of last gen's start so should we be celebrating the health of the industry?

The Xbox One in its first January sold significantly less than the Xbox original or 360 did its first January. Don't remember the exact numbers but they are buried in that GAF thread.

Regarding call for price drop and/or removing features...I think it would be far more likely for MS to react by giving more value such as offering a free year of Gold or packing in a free AAA game to give them a competitive advantage. Doing this would be far less costly and not piss off early adopters nearly as much as an early price drop. And zero chance they are dumping Kinect, in fact, they are going to show more and more reasons how it gives their system a reason for newcomers to choose X1 over PS4.

I don't think it's considered bad historically, but it is half of what the 360 sold in its launch January and it had some serious supply issues.

And when you consider the US is Microsoft's bread and butter and really the only country they have a shot at outselling the PS4 in, then I guess getting doubled up by the competition could be considered 'bad', especially when the competition can't even keep the stores stocked.

Same story in Germany I guess. I do not preorder games or Console, so I did not ask, but I have not seen a PS4 for sales so far.

Anyway, whatever MS wanted to do to make people buy XBOX one, I think they need to do it soon, & have to be pretty aggesive I think, also they should really making it available for other nations soon, beofr losing even more market shares.

When 360 sold its first January it didnt have a nextgen competitor, right? And isnt X1's LTD sales numbers tracking ahead of what 360's LTD sales numbers from their release dates?

Your 2nd paragraph was about comparison and I was trying to look at sales from another standpoint, but I do agree with you.

So what I'm getting from this is that the PLAYERS bought PS4s and everyone else got the Xbox One. ;)

They need to drop the price onPS3 and 360. Especially PS3. Is there seriously not a 200 dollar model out there? That can't be right.

The 360 sold 249k in jan 2006 npd. Then 294k in jan 2007. The ps3 sold 244k for jan 2007 npd (even with next-gen competitor) with a higher price than the Xbox one now. So in comparison, it's selling worse.

But you're right, xbox one's LTD is higher than 360's LTD at the time.

Ok, thanks for that. Bad month for X1 but still tracking ahead of 360 while this time having a worthy competitor. Overall a good sign for the overall health of the gaming industry and a bit premature to be calling for price drops especially with Lord Titanfall about to hit.

One way to spin this positively for Xbox fans is that, an additional 140K lead in a race where the totals are in the millions isn't that big a deal. Although "2 to 1" sounds bad, the actual difference in total sales only shifted a small amount.

Just trying to help. :)

The problem, of course, is not just this one month, but what it seems to portend.

Yup. If feb and March (even with titanfall) sales are lower than expectations, a price drop is pretty much imminent, I think.

Did MS at least sell consoles faster? Or whatever the magic metric was during the last sale.

Major Nelson may have passed out from all the spinning trying to come up with something so no response

Xbox One, you just got Spranked...
