I think Titanfall will move sales. I just do not think it will move enough as its MP only.

I really think MS needs to evaluate the price. I am not sure if they can but I think they need to keep KINECT and drop the price to match PS4. The fact is you can get an X1 while PS4 still is selling everything they are putting on the shelves. MS needs to wake up if they want to stay competitive.

It makes me wonder if Sony had their E3 PC first, if the X1 would even have been launched at $499.

I love the system. But it's always been overpriced.
Microsoft can scream value all they want.

MS is backed in a corner now and about to lash out at any time. This is good, atleast they will wake up and get back to Pre-Kinect, MS did everything just amazing back then. Ok I blame Nintendo for this

Yep. I think Sony got away with it for a bit when the PS3 launched, because of the price of blu-ray players. And you had a group of gamers saying they don't care about blu-ray, so why force it on us? It's similar to what you're hearing with Kinect; it's also similar with what you're hearing with the Wii U GamePad.

I certainly don't care about Kinect, so why force it on me? More importantly, it isn't required anymore. So why not have a model without it?

Same for Wii U. I'm very interested in a Wii U; I just don't want that damn GamePad.

I think, and this certainly extends beyond games, consumers don't want to be told what they should want because of reasons.

Microsoft is crazy if they don't think a $399.99 Titanfall edition wouldn't get people talking (without Kinect); Nintendo is crazy if they don't think a $250 Wii U, with two Pro Controllers and Mario Kart 8, wouldn't get people talking.

Oh well. I'm patient.

Dissed the motion part of kinect, & have a microphone only version. Best compromise I think. Then lower the price to at least PS4.

Before they sell more unit, a more drastic but still probable is a new, more powerful system. Older set can be exchange, & the older xbox can be refurnished and resold at lower price. Bu I guess this will be a huge financial hot for them, like RROD. So quite unlikely.

But all this would not have been needed if MS have listened.

Sony is still not meeting demand completely though that's the issue, I checked Maryland, Virginia and parts of nothern and southern CA and the vast majority of walmarts and Gamestops are sold out or low supply. MS hasn't had supply issues with the X1 since just before Xmas, they really aren't going through the same thing right now. The bottom line is the X1 is easy to find, the PS4 isn't. I'm sure in a month or two that will change and both should be able to be purchased at most retailers. Sony has the Japanese launch coming up in a week and a half so I'm sure they've been holding consoles back for that.

As far as thinking I was looking for a PS4 thanks for offering advice and trying to help, I've had one since launch day though ;)

Again, I live in DC Metro area which is Maryland, DC and Virginia. I can go out and buy tons of PS4 if I was inclined to do so. It would not be an issue. My friend is a manager of one of 3 Gamestops within a 5 mile area, and like the others they have PS4's just sitting in their stores with no more movement than X1. Fact of me being able to go anywhere and buy a PS4 overrides online tools. Simple as that.

I live in Maine. There's no stock in Target or Best Buy; they're in stock at a Walmart 40 miles away, and in stock at a Gamestop 90 miles away.

Clearly my anecdotal evidences trumps your anecdotal evidence.

Let's not go down this road.

Serious non fanboy question. If PS4's are so hard to find, how are they selling so much? Wouldn't they have to be available?

They are available, and then people buy them, then more come in. I don't think it is that hard to find a PS4; you just have to check daily for about a week or so, and you'll get one.

They've been available on Amazon for almost 24 hours now; this didn't happen once in January.

Maine. LOL

Yep, the way life should be.
Actually agree with that.

How'd the weather turn out for you there? Still have things incoming? Miss it? Have your own stuff? Used to live in upstate NY, miss the lifestyle.

Ya. Something like that.

I am still playing backlog of 360 games so I am in not hurry, but last gen is showing its age. I was playing Gears 3 last night. Gears 3 looks clearly aged, & while looking still nice, have lost the OMG visuals I felt when I played Gears 1.

Got around 9 inches of snow, but it is some wet, heavy s***. Another storm coming in tomorrow night. I used to rent with a garage; landlord took care of plowing. Bought a house in December; well, built a house, and it has a 250 ft driveway and no garage. It's a bit different.

I'm sure Sony would love to have more available. But at 1/4 of a million units in NA in a month, it seems like Sony is doing a great job of making more available asap.

Also thank God neither console have any major hardware issues so far.

That's good news indeed. Sony will launch in Japan soon (if they have not already), so I doubt we have more supply soon. But you guys have it easy already. PS4 are practically not available after launch here in Hessen, Germany. Its funny to see you can buy PS4 games, controller & other stuff, but no PS4 console in sight anywhere. Then you see XBOX stacking like a little hill in the mall.

I tell you the hurt among some fan boys in this thread sure is strong. The PS4 is more powerful and so far seems like it will out sell the One by a good bit them is the hard facts.

No Xb1 fanboy with a brain ever thought that X1 sales would beat Sony.

What X1 fanboys will tell you is that the sky is not falling. They aren't going to dump kinect or drop the price. The system still sells well and makes MS money.

What's hysterical is all the people crying for MS to drop the price $100 still wouldn't buy one anyway.

I'm sure you wish that would happen but with Sonys financials in such a hellish mess I think Sony's the one being kicked around(again) Amazing how some of you forget how badly the ship is sinking.

there is no doubt imo the PS4 will win this gen based on the price gap more than the performance gap. MS can keep momentum going for awhile if big exclusives hit consistently. It would be in their best interest for a price drop ASAP even to take a loss for a period if they do believe in the kinect that much.

Doesn't change that the PS4 is still harder to get. Anyone who is trying to get one right now could tell you that. Online if you want an Xbox One you can buy it from any retailer, they all have it in stock. Only Amazon has the PS4 in stock as of this morning.

As for brick and mortar, it's pretty hard to compare data. I live in Chicago. There are 31 Best Buys in the metro area. Best Buy's web site stock checker shows that only 4 of those stores have the PS4 in stock. Every single one except two have the Xbox One in stock for in-store pickup. My Chicago trumps your D.C.

But in all seriousness, what are we even arguing, that if you want to buy a PS4 you can? No one is arguing that. But you seem to be arguing that availability is equal? That is pretty easy to disprove in the age of online ordering and in-store pickup.

Yep, I just did an inventory check for his area, X1's are available all over the place but PS4 comes up with no consoles available within a 100 mile radius. I stopped checking at a 23 mile radius but 56 stores came up with only 5 showing low stock on the X1, the other 51 said available. I know it's not the be all end all for info but at least gamestops search tool goes against what he's saying, it's pretty accurate in my area so I don't know why it wouldn't be in his.

Edit: Just because I was curious how accurate that search tool is I called 3 stores in DC that come up on the GS store locator for the area, NONE of them had PS4's in stock, they all said they sell quickly once they get them and that they aren't getting big shipments in either.

No! you're wrong! xbox is sold out just as much!!

Updated.

Complete spectrum of NPD January hardware sales:

PS4: 271K
XB1: 141K
3DS: 97K
PS3: 53.5K
Wii U: 49K
360: 48.5K
Vita: 17K

Translation:

PS4: Doing well
XB1: Worrisome
3DS: Dying
PS3: Dead
WiiU: Dead
360: Dead
Vita: Funeral was held years ago move on

Stolen from GAF.

BTW PS4 alone outsold the entire Xbox One/360 family last month by almost 100K.

Total sales for both consoles in North America:

PS4: 2.27 Million

Xbox One: 1.95 Million

Definitely still anyone's game in North America. The fact that the Xbox One is staying close to the PS4 in North America even though the system is $100 more I think pretty much shows the system would be doing much better if it was the same price as the PS4 or cheaper.
